Fontainebleau Miami Beach restaurant guide: Cantonese dinner or poolside lunch?

For a Fontainebleau Miami Beach restaurant after dark, choose Hakkasan for Cantonese duck and dim sum or Prime 54 for steak. La Côte is the daytime choice beside the pools, serving French-Mediterranean food until 5pm.

The choice, in short

Why choose Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Hakkasan for a shared Cantonese dinner; La Côte for a long outdoor lunch.

When to look elsewhere

La Côte finishes food service at 5pm, so a late dinner needs another table.

Which Fontainebleau restaurant to book

Hakkasan duck, a steak at Prime 54, or lunch outside at La Côte.

At Hakkasan, a whole Peking duck is $128, or $228 with 28g of Oscietra caviar; a half duck is $78. The $40 dim sum platter brings har gau, scallop shumai, shrimp-and-chicken chive dumplings and black-pepper duck pumpkin dumplings. These are dishes to share across a table, with dramatic lighting and marble tables.

Prime 54 sits off the grand Château lobby. Its wood-fired steaks include a $74 filet mignon and an $85 ribeye, with sides charged separately.

La Côte welcomes hotel guests, boardwalk visitors and locals. The poolside menu runs from $18 hummus to a $35 chicken kebab and $36 salmon; it is an outdoor French-Mediterranean lunch with ocean views. For burgers, wood-fired pizza and board games, choose Arkadia.

For an idea of the bill at Hakkasan, one whole Peking duck and one dim sum platter come to $168 in food. The 20% service charge adds $33.60, taking that example to $201.60 before tax and drinks. Ordering the half duck instead brings the food subtotal to $118 and the same calculation to $141.60 before tax and drinks. These are examples of orders, not set menus or a promise of how many people each combination feeds.

A steak dinner has a different structure: one filet mignon, one ribeye and two $15 sides at Prime 54 total $189 in food. With 20% service, that is $226.80 before tax and drinks. The 2 sides account for $30 of the food subtotal, or $36 including service. Compare that with La Côte’s individually priced lunch dishes if you want a daytime meal rather than an evening steakhouse visit.

From Monday to Thursday, you can eat at La Côte during the afternoon, but Arkadia starts at 5pm, just when La Côte’s food service finishes. La Côte’s bar remains open for another hour; that does not extend the kitchen hours.
