What Grace is
Grace Hotel is at Imerovigli, the clifftop village on the caldera rim between Fira and Oia. Its terraces step down the cliff straight opposite Skaros Rock, the ruined Venetian fortress 250 m away as the crow flies, and every room looks over the caldera to the sunset. There are 22 rooms and suites and a 3-bedroom villa, run by Auberge Collection; the MICHELIN Guide gives the hotel Two Keys.
The pool level is where the day is spent: a 22-metre heated infinity pool that the hotel calls the largest in Imerovigli, loungers along the edge, and Varoulko Santorini, the island table of Lefteris Lazarou, whose Athens restaurant won a Michelin star in 2002. Breakfast is a set menu of several courses with Champagne; from 5:30pm the 363 Bar pours cocktails written by Baba Au Rum of Athens. Guests write most about the staff and the view.
Grace is built in steps down the cliff, and is best chosen knowing that. The hotel is reached only on foot, down flights of concrete steps, and its own site does not recommend it to guests with restricted mobility. The 2 Deluxe categories measure 32 and 34 m² inside; the Junior Suites have 45 and the Superior Suite 48. There is no spa building: treatments come to your room. And the island’s beaches are a drive away.

The scores come from 135 Google reviews with text, left from 13 December 2015 to 8 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay on Santorini: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 8 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

Grace or Canaves Oia Suites
Choose Grace for Imerovigli, with Fira 31 minutes away on foot. Choose Canaves Oia Suites for Oia, where the main square is a 9-minute walk from the hotel.
The island outpost of Lefteris Lazarou’s Varoulko, the Athens restaurant that won the first Michelin star given to a chef cooking Greek food, in 2002. Seafood first: oysters at €11 each, shrimp ceviche at €41, whole fish baked in salt. Dinner from 7pm to 10pm, smart casual.
The terrace bar above the pool, named for its height above the sea, with a list written by Baba Au Rum, the Athens bar on the World’s 50 Best lists. Cocktails cost €19 to €26, a glass of Santorini Assyrtiko €17; open daily until 11:30pm and to outside guests too.
22 metres long, heated, on the same level as the restaurant, with loungers in a row and nothing between the water and the caldera. It is for hotel guests; lunch and snacks are served beside it from 11:30am to 6pm.
Massages and facials take place in your room: from €140 for an hour-long facial to €210 for a 90-minute Warm Candle Massage. Yoga and Pilates have their own studio; there is no shared spa with a sauna and pools.
Technogym machines in a white room with French windows onto the sea, with free sessions every day, first come first served, and an instructor for private ones. A fitness kit can also be sent to the room.

The hotel shuts for the winter. On the official booking engine, read on 8 October 2026, the last night on sale this year was 27 October, with 28 to 31 October answered «We are closed», and the first of next season 12 April 2027. Its policies page says only that it is typically closed from November until 14 April.
No car reaches the door. The official directions say the hotel can only be entered by going down several flights of concrete steps, and that it may not suit guests with restricted mobility; the porters carry the luggage.
Guests must be 14 or older, for safety on the cliff. Younger children are accepted only in The Villa, which is also the only place with cots. Booking.com writes that children of all ages are welcome, but in the fine print on the same page the hotel says it cannot accept children under 14: the hotel’s rule is the one that applies.
The 2 Deluxe categories measure 32 and 34 m² inside, and rooms differ in layout and position. The Junior Suites measure 45 m², the Superior Suite 48.
Portals list a spa and wellness centre. The hotel’s own answer to «Is there a spa on site?» is no: treatments are given in the room, and the treatment room, steam bath and indoor plunge pool on the fact sheet are The Villa’s own.
For much of 2027 the engine does not sell a single night. Read on 8 October 2026, one night on 15 June, 20 July, 14 August and 12 October 2027 was refused, while 2 nights from 20 July were on sale at €1,668 a night, taxes included.

Hotel transfer
€100 per room each way from the airport or the port, arranged with the concierge; a taxi costs €25 to €45 depending on the trip, and The Villa’s transfer is included
The last stretch
On foot only: several flights of concrete steps lead down from the road, and the porters carry the bags. The hotel advises against it for guests with restricted mobility
Fira and Oia
Fira’s bus terminal is 2.6 km, 4 to 6 minutes by car, Oia 9.1 km, 11 to 16 minutes; the hotel’s own page says 15 minutes to Fira and 30 to Oia
Athens
35 minutes by plane, according to the hotel; 4.5 hours by ferry from Piraeus, 5 from Rafina
Times and distances worked out on OpenStreetMap’s roads on 8 October 2026 with 2 routing engines, from the road above the hotel; summer traffic on the island’s one main road makes them longer. Fares and the hotel’s own figures are from its directions and policies pages, read the same day.

A honeymoon and a pool on the terrace
In September 2026 a couple on honeymoon spent 4 nights in a room with its own jetted pool and ended every day in it with a glass of wine. They single out the restaurant and bar staff, and call the caldera view breathtaking.
In August 2026 a guest judged the hotel worth every penny: Santorini is crowded, they wrote, unless you stay at Imerovigli, which has fewer people and can still be walked. The hotel sits straight in front of Skaros Rock, with nothing in the way, and is very quiet.
In May 2026 a guest praised the breakfast and the staff, who showed them round the whole property, and found the rooms spotless but a little small: staying organised, they wrote, solves it.
In June 2025 a guest called the breakfast the best ever and the view beyond compare, but found the bathroom lacked privacy and wished for a hotel shuttle to Oia, where transport is hard to find and expensive.
In June 2025 a family who decided at the last minute to bring their 6-year-old learned on arrival that small children cannot stay. The staff found them another hotel, and they still gave 5 stars.
In June 2025 a guest who loved the hotel and a private boat trip the concierge arranged found the cooking short of its reputation: a fava spread with no flavour and an overcooked red snapper.
What kind of hotel is Grace Hotel, Auberge Collection?
A 5-star boutique hotel on the caldera cliff at Imerovigli, Santorini, managed by Auberge Collection. The hotel’s policies page counts 22 rooms and suites and a 3-bedroom villa; the MICHELIN Guide gives it Two Keys, and Tripadvisor a Travelers’ Choice award for 2026. Its own site calls it both «Grace Hotel» and «Grace Hotel Santorini».
The numbers vary with the source. MICHELIN writes 23 rooms, which matches 22 plus the villa; a press release of April 2022 spoke of a 20-room hotel with a 2-bedroom villa, and the fact sheet still calls the villa a 2-bedroom suite, while its own room page and MICHELIN describe 3 bedrooms. The height above the sea is 300 metres on the fact sheet and 363 on the bar’s page.
What rooms are there, and how big are they?
9 types, each with its own page on the official site, all facing the caldera and Skaros. Inside, the Deluxe Room measures 32 m² and the Deluxe with a plunge pool 34; the Junior Suites 45, the Superior Suite 48, the VIP Suite 53 and the Grace Suite 63; the 2 newer Infinity Suites have 50 m² inside and 55 outside. The Villa has 150 m² indoors and 250 of terraces.
By the policies page’s count there are 7 Deluxe Rooms with a plunge pool and 1 without, 6 Junior Suites with a plunge pool and 1 without, 2 Superior, 1 VIP, 2 Grace and 2 Infinity Suites: 20 of the 22 have a heated pool of their own. Every room has a king bed, a Nespresso machine, a pillow menu of 7 and Apivita toiletries; the hotel warns that rooms differ in layout and position because of the cliff.
Where is it, and is the area quiet?
At Imerovigli, on the west-facing rim of the caldera, about 2 km north of Fira by the hotel’s own measure. The hotel publishes no street address, only «Imerovigli, Santorini, 84700». Skaros Rock is directly in front, 250 m away in a straight line on OpenStreetMap.
Guests describe it as the quiet part of the caldera. One in August 2026 called the hotel incredibly quiet, and another in October 2024 chose it over Oia for that reason, finding both ends of the island easy to reach from the middle. A few restaurants and shops are in the village at the top of the steps.
How do you get there from the airport or the port, and what about luggage?
By car to the road above the hotel, then on foot. From Santorini airport it is 8.2 km, 12 to 17 minutes, from Athinios port 11.2 km, 15 to 17 minutes, worked out on OpenStreetMap on 8 October 2026. The hotel’s directions give about 20 minutes from the airport and 30 from the port, and charge €100 per room per transfer; the policies page puts a taxi at €25 to €45.
The last stretch is steps: the same directions say the hotel can only be reached by descending several flights of concrete steps. Porterage is among the listed services, and a guest in October 2024 wrote that the porters were waiting for the bags and that you need them; another in May 2024 noted that luggage is carried up and down as part of the transfer.
Is there parking?
The policies page says only that self-service parking is available, with no price and no place named, and no car can come nearer than the road at the top of the steps. Whether it is free or charged, the site does not publish it (policies page read on 15 October 2026).
Santorini is an island, and guests’ accounts are of transfers and taxis: none of the 135 Google reviews with text describes parking at the hotel.
How far is the walk to Fira, Oia and Skaros?
Fira’s cathedral is 31 minutes (2.3 km) away along the caldera path and the Three Bells of Fira, at Firostefani, 20 minutes (1.5 km), on OpenStreetMap routes measured on 8 October 2026; the routers do not slow down for steps, so allow more. A guest in May 2024 gave 15 to 20 minutes to Fira.
Oia is a hike: 7.8 km to 10.3 km on the cliff trail according to the route, 1.5 to 2 hours in guests’ accounts. Skaros Rock is 250 m away as the crow flies, on a path of rock steps that OpenStreetMap grades as mountain hiking. The bus stop on the main road is 5 minutes (407 m) away.
Does the hotel have a beach or access to the sea?
No. The hotel stands on the cliff, 300 metres above the water by its fact sheet, and has neither a beach nor a way down to the sea; swimming is in the pool. Expedia’s label, «luxury boutique hotel by the sea», describes the view more than the distance.
For the water the hotel sells private motor-yacht cruises: 5 hours for up to 4 passengers from €1,800, a full day from €3,000, with snorkelling gear, drinks and finger food. Santorini’s black and red sand beaches are on other coasts of the island, reached by car.
What is the pool like?
One shared infinity pool, 22 metres long, on the level of the restaurant, with the caldera beyond its edge; the hotel’s page calls it the largest infinity pool in Imerovigli and lists it as free for every hotel guest. Loungers line one side and drinks and food are served to them.
Private pools are the hotel’s other habit. By the policies page’s room count, 18 rooms and suites have a heated plunge pool on the terrace, the 2 Infinity Suites a private infinity pool, and The Villa a swimming pool.
Is the pool heated, and when is it open?
The fact sheet describes a heated infinity pool, and every private plunge pool is listed as heated. The hours differ by page: 11am to 6pm on the policies page, 7am to 6:30pm on the pool’s own page. No temperature is published.
A guest in October 2023 described the private pools as always very warm. The pool closes with the hotel for the winter.
Where do you eat, and can outside guests book?
There is one restaurant, Varoulko Santorini, and one bar, 363 Bar. Varoulko serves breakfast from 7:30am to 10:30am, lunch from 12:30pm to 6pm, with the pool menu from 11:30am, and dinner from 7pm to 10pm, on the dining page’s hours; the dress code is smart casual. The dinner menu runs from fish soup at €31 to lamb and lobster at €91, with whole fish for 2 at €160 a head and puddings at €19, VAT included.
Both take bookings from people not staying: the policies page says non-residents may use the restaurant and the bar, and nothing else. Breakfast, described on the fact sheet as a Champagne breakfast with a set menu that changes daily, is included according to Google Hotels, Expedia and guests’ accounts; the official pages read publish no half-board or other meal plan. Room service runs 24 hours, and there is a children’s menu.
What is the spa like?
Massages and facials take place in your room, facing the caldera. The wellness page calls the service Grace Spa, while the policies page confirms there is no shared spa: no communal sauna or water circuit. Sources: policies page · wellbeing page.
What exists is spread around: a hammam steam bath and an indoor plunge pool inside each Grace Suite, a steam room in each Infinity Suite’s bathroom, and in The Villa a private spa with a steam bath, an indoor plunge pool and a treatment room, as the fact sheet lists. The hotel also has a fitness studio and a yoga and Pilates studio. The MICHELIN Guide mentions a treatment room; Booking.com’s «spa and wellness centre» overstates it.
Is spa access included, and is there a day pass?
Guests can use the infinity pool and join the complimentary daily fitness sessions on a first-come, first-served basis. In-room treatments cost extra; check the price of private training; there is no shared spa to buy admission to. Sources: fitness studio.
No official page read publishes a day pass or a spa day for outside visitors, and the policies page limits non-residents to the restaurant and the bar: the pool is for guests.
When can you book a treatment, and do you need to reserve?
Treatments are given on request, Monday to Sunday, with no fixed opening hours, according to the treatment menu; they are booked by email or by telephone on +30 22860 21300, and cancellations need 24 hours’ notice. The hotel recommends booking couples’ treatments in advance.
Which treatments are there, and at what prices?
From the treatment menu, taxes and service included: a signature aromatherapy massage at €160 for 60 minutes and €200 for 90, deep-tissue, warm-candle, hot-stone and sports massages at €170 and €210, jet-lag and prenatal massages at €150 and €190.
For 2, a 60-minute Couple De-Stress costs €320 and the 90-minute signature ritual with an express facial €420. Facials run from €140 to €160 for 50 to 60 minutes.
Can you bring children?
Only from 14. The policies page sets a minimum age of 14 and admits younger children to The Villa alone; the fact sheet gives safety on the cliff as the reason. Cots exist only for The Villa, a highchair is available on request, the concierge can arrange babysitting, and there is a children’s menu.
The portals are not reliable on this. Booking.com writes «children of all ages are welcome» above a fine print that says the hotel cannot accept children under 14; Expedia sets the limit at «14 and younger are not allowed»; Google Hotels tags the hotel «kid-friendly».
Is it suitable for guests with limited mobility?
The hotel itself says it is not recommended: the fact sheet states so, and the directions page explains that the only way in is down several flights of concrete steps. Inside, the terraces are linked by more stairs, and guests in 2024 and 2025 mention plenty of them.
A guest on Booking.com adds that the walk from the hotel up to the road takes 5 minutes on cobbles, awkward in heels.
What is there besides the rooms?
The infinity pool with its bar service, Varoulko Santorini, the 363 Bar, a fitness studio, a yoga and Pilates studio, a concept shop selling Zeus + Dione clothing and pieces from the Museum of Cycladic Art, a 24-hour reception and concierge, laundry and Wi-Fi throughout, as the fact sheet lists.
The experiences are sold separately: wine tastings at the hotel at €145 a person for 6 wines or €185 for 9, winery tours, yacht cruises, kayaking, sunrise yoga. Pets are not accepted, apart from support animals up to 15 kg, and smoking is allowed only outdoors.
Are there any offers?
One on the offers page: «Suite Retreat», up to 30% off suites and The Villa for stays in 2026, prepaid and non-refundable, subject to blackout dates. On the booking engine, read on 8 October 2026, a rate named «Save up to 30%», for suites and the villa only, was behind the cheapest October nights, and the 2027 season carried an advance-purchase rate, «Save up to 20%», also prepaid and non-refundable.
The Wine Odyssey series pairs dinners with Greek estates, from Gerovassiliou at the end of June to Gavalas in late September; the page gives no year, and its October dinner with Hatzidakis had no date.
Can you get married at Grace Hotel?
Yes. The weddings page offers 3 settings: the 363 Lounge, for 40 seated or 60 standing; the infinity pool level, for 35 seated or 60 standing; and The Villa’s terrace, for 15 seated or 60 standing, by the capacity table. The fee is a flat venue fee, which the site does not publish, and includes furniture, tableware, staff and set-up.
A wedding planner is compulsory and must be engaged at least 3 months ahead; the hotel does not require a minimum number of rooms. Menus are written with the kitchen, and a room with a full-length mirror is set aside for the wedding party from 8am. A Google review posted in October 2026 describes a proposal the staff helped stage.
Is there a New Year’s Eve dinner?
No: the hotel is shut at New Year. The official booking engine, read on 8 October 2026, answered «We are closed» for the nights from 28 to 31 October 2026 and «not available» for 1 and 2 November, and the first night it sold in 2027 was 12 April. No official page mentions a festive programme.
Is there golf or tennis?
Neither. The policies page answers that there is no golf and no tennis on site, and the hotel sells no golf package. The activities on offer are yoga, Pilates, kayaking, cruises and wine.
When is it open, and when does it close?
From mid-April to late October. On the official booking engine, read on 8 October 2026, 27 October was the last night of 2026 with rooms on sale; 10 and 11 April 2027 were «not available», and 12 April was the first night sold. The policies page is looser: «typically closed November till April 14».
Other sources give other dates. The MICHELIN Guide says April through October, and Expedia that the pool, bar, gym and a dining venue close from 20 October to 12 April. Google Hotels, read on 13 October 2026, still showed prices of €1,639 for 28 and 31 October, nights the hotel’s own engine declared closed; it showed none from 1 November to 31 January.
How much does a night cost?
On the official booking engine, read on 8 October 2026, for 2 adults and one night, taxes and fees included, the cheapest room on sale cost €833 on 13 and 17 October 2026, €721 on 23 and 27 October, the last night of the season, €559 on 12, 14 and 20 April 2027 on a prepaid rate, and €587 on 11 May. Google Hotels, read on 8 October 2026 for the Greek market, shows the lowest figure from any seller, also with taxes and fees included: €1,250 on 9 October 2026, €900 on 13 October, €809 on 17 October and €726 on 23 and 27 October.
The cheapest room is not always the smallest: in October it was the Junior Suite without a pool, on a «Save up to 30%» rate kept for suites, while the Deluxe Room with Plunge Pool cost €1,197 on 13, 17 and 20 October and €968 on 23, 25, 26 and 27 October. On 20 October it was the only type left on the engine, at €1,197, against €1,052 on Google’s calendar for the same night.
In summer the engine would not sell one night alone. For 2 nights from 20 July 2027 the Deluxe Room with Plunge Pool averaged €1,668 a night on the prepaid rate; for 3 nights it averaged €1,407 from 15 June and €1,695 from 15 September. The flexible rate for the July stay was €2,085 a night.
What do the reviews say?
On 8 October 2026 Google showed 4.7/5 from 256 reviews, Tripadvisor 4.8/5 from 811, ranking it 13th of 67 hotels in Imerovigli, with 4.9 for location and 4.5 for value, Booking.com 9.5/10 from 39, with 9.9 for comfort and 8.1 for value, and Expedia 9.6/10 from 155.
On Google, 216 of the 256 ratings are 5 stars. Guests return to the staff, the view of Skaros and the sunset, the breakfast and the private pools. The hotel is reached only by stairs, the 2 Deluxe categories measure 32 and 34 m², and the dinner menu at Varoulko runs from fish soup at €31 to lamb and lobster at €91.
What taxes and charges are added?
The official booking engine labels its totals «Including taxes and fees», and the policies page states that there is no resort fee. The general terms on the offers page say the opposite of the engine, that taxes, fees and service charges are additional, so the figure to trust is the engine’s total at the last step.
On Google Hotels the figures also include tax: for 9 October 2026 Booking.com’s link carried a total of €1,250.50 of which €179.62 was tax, and Agoda’s the same total with €20 of fees inside it. Restaurant and bar prices include VAT, and treatment prices include taxes and service.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 3pm and check-out by 11am, on the policies page; a late check-out can be requested and is charged from 2pm. Expedia gives the same hours, while the data the hotel’s site publishes for search engines says noon. Reception is open 24 hours; the currency accepted is the euro, and the cards American Express, Mastercard and Visa.
