A Versailles salon, a Starck café and a bar with jazz

3 rooms at 228 rue de Rivoli, each with its own hours, its own dress and its own bill.

Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse occupies a room inspired by the Salon de la Paix at Versailles and reinterpreted by Philippe Starck. Alain Ducasse oversees it; Amaury Bouhours, who began at Le Louis XV in Monaco, has been executive chef since March 2020. The MICHELIN Guide gives it 2 stars in its 2026 France selection, and the hotel says the restaurant has held 3 Écotable macarons, that label’s highest rating, for 4 years running.

The dinner menu read on 11 October 2026 is a single list of dishes: spider crab from Roscoff with French beans and fresh goat’s cheese, wild Brittany turbot on the griddle with girolles and bone marrow, Burgundy rabbit with mustard and courgette, veal grilled with celtuce, olive and mint. The Découverte menu takes 3 of them before cheeses and dessert; the Collection takes 5. Desserts, signed with pastry chef Cédric Grolet, run from a fig flower and a cocoa pod to a baba with the rum you choose.

Le Dalí, inspired by the painter and designed by Starck, is the everyday restaurant. Clémentine Bouchon, chosen by Alain Ducasse, cooks French classics: on the carte an onion soup gratinéed with Comté costs €31, langoustine ravioli with yuzu beurre blanc €39, seared sea bass with hollandaise €75, and coquillettes with Comté, with or without ham, €36. A croque-monsieur with Prince de Paris ham is €45; a smashburger or a chicken club with fries, €49. The Dalí prices include VAT and a 5% staff contribution.

Bar 228 kept its dark wood and painted ceiling when Starck added a Carrara marble counter, and there is live jazz every night. It feeds people too, from the Club 228 burger to grilled antipasti and seafood from the south of France. On the evening list the house cocktails cost €34 to €39, among them the 228, with Champagne, pear, lychee and raspberry at €36, and the alcohol-free ones €22.

What guests write on Google is mostly about Sunday brunch and lunch. One, in July 2026, described a brunch on the last Sunday of June served at the table by the dining-room staff: appetisers, hot dishes of fish and poultry, and pastries. Another, in May 2026, praised the service and found the starters and main courses cold and bland for the price. A third, in June 2026, called both the food and the service at lunch impeccable.
