New hotels in Tuscany: recent and announced openings

Florence has new brands and reopened hotels; beyond the city, San Gimignano, La Suvera and Perolla are preparing different stays among villages and countryside.

Florence, towers and countryside

At Perolla, the project sits within a 1,300-hectare estate of woods, olive groves and vineyards. La Suvera preserves the Renaissance architecture of Baldassare Peruzzi, commissioned to turn the fortress into a villa for Pope Julius II.4 6

Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze, Colbert Collection

Via Porta Rossa, historic centre · open since 12 May 2026.2 The first Colbert Collection opens on Via Porta Rossa, with 69 rooms and suites after refurbishment.2

Fiesole, in the hills above Florence · open since 28 April 2026.3 After an 18-month renovation, the villa returns with 39 redesigned rooms and suites.3

On Via Nazionale, 80 rooms are planned in a 19th-century building.5

A complex of former convents near Piazza della Libertà: 56 rooms and 33 suites.7

ExCelle Hotel San Gimignano, Colbert Collection

A former convent and prison in the historic centre is to become Italy’s second Colbert Collection hotel.8

Corinthia Borgo di Perolla, Tuscany

Perolla’s historic estate buildings are to be restored as a resort with 80 units, including suites and private villas.4

La Suvera

The villa is being restored for Pellicano Hotels, with approximately 60 rooms and suites planned.6
