Secrets Playa Mujeres is back: weigh up Preferred Club

Secrets Playa Mujeres’ new interiors draw on sea colours, light fabrics, natural materials and more flowing spaces. It remains an adults-only all-inclusive resort north of Cancún: if the old rooms put you off, they are worth another look.

The redesigned room comes first; the Club is a separate choice

The new interiors draw their colours from the coast, using pale fabrics, natural textures and more fluid layouts. This remains an adults-only all-inclusive resort north of Cancún. If older photographs put you off the rooms, request current pictures of the category you are considering: the redesign gives you a reason to look again.12

The Preferred Club has a new 2-storey building, with its dedicated check-in lounge below and an ocean-view restaurant above. There is also a new private beach club. Ask for the exact access included in your quote, particularly if the room name sounds similar to another category you saw online.1

The return had several stages. Spa enhancements and Bordeaux were scheduled for mid-February. If treatments or that restaurant are central to your trip, confirm what is operating for your dates. Spa treatments, hydrotherapy and Temazcal carry additional charges; read the all-inclusive offer through to those details.12

An April stay, described in May, finds the resort operating while some work is still underway. Reopening did not mean that every phase had finished.3

Is Secrets Playa Mujeres still closed for renovation?

The resort reopened in January 2026. An April stay confirms it was operating, and it is welcoming guests for adults-only all-inclusive holidays.132

Were all the rooms redesigned?

The programme redesigned all 424 rooms. Confirm the category, outlook and Preferred Club access in your reservation.1

Is the spa included in the all-inclusive rate?

Treatments, the hydrotherapy circuit and Temazcal carry additional charges. Ask for prices and available facilities before booking.2
