The Dorchester’s new Royal Suite completes its bedroom transformation

The Dorchester’s new Royal Suite completes its bedroom refurbishment, with Hyde Park beyond the windows. It can connect into 4 bedrooms. For family or friends travelling together, ask for the floor plan and exactly which connecting rooms your quote includes.

How much suite are you actually reserving?

The Royal Suite occupies a corner of the 8th floor, with sitting rooms, dining room, study and kitchen. Its new design was announced for 1 June 2026 as the final stage of the hotel’s guestroom transformation.1

The footprint changes with the configuration, from 265 to 433 m². Have the connecting bedrooms and private spaces listed in your quotation before comparing the size of the stay.2

Butler service and return transfers are included. A private chef costs extra, while the chauffeur-driven car is subject to availability. For a particular dinner or arrival, I would add those arrangements to the reservation request.2

Before booking

The configuration to choose

Connecting rooms expand the suite; settle its floor plan and footprint together.2

What I would ask before booking

Ask before booking · 1How many bedrooms and what floor area does this exact quotation include?
Ask before booking · 2Which rooms connect, and which spaces will be private?
Ask before booking · 3Which transfers, car and private-chef arrangements are confirmed or charged extra?

Other hotels to consider

If you want to change hotels, I would start with these.

The Connaught Bar: dark green leather armchairs, candlelit tables, mirrors and silvered plasterwork

The Connaught

For Mayfair, Connaught Bar and the Aman Spa with its swimming pool.

The trade-off

Entry rooms are compact; consider a Deluxe or suite for more space.

Why choose it

Suites have butler service, worth considering if that is part of what you want.

The Ritz Restaurant beneath its glass roof: chandeliers, laid tables, a grand piano and the pink carpet

The Ritz London

For Piccadilly, Green Park and a grand London occasion.

The trade-off

There is work here too: ask what will affect your nights.

Why choose it

Afternoon tea has moved to William Kent House; reserve the new setting.

The red-brick facade and entrance of Claridge’s on Brook Street

Claridge’s

For the Foyer, art deco bars and a swimming pool beneath Brook Street.

The trade-off

Children have dedicated pool hours: confirm those for your stay.

Why choose it

Before choosing a rate, check whether breakfast and cancellation are included.

Before you go

Did The Dorchester close to introduce the Royal Suite?

The announcement concerns a suite and the completion of the bedroom transformation; it is not a reopening notice for the whole hotel.1

Does the Royal Suite always have 4 bedrooms?

It can reach that configuration through connecting rooms. Ask for the floor plan attached to your offer.2

Is a private chef included?

That service carries an additional fee. Have the service and its charge included in the proposal.2
