The Broadmoor Sunday brunch: the Lake Terrace, the price, the holidays and parking
The Broadmoor Sunday brunch is served from 9am to 1pm in the Lake Terrace Dining Room, and anyone can book it, staying at the hotel or not. It costs $110 an adult, plus 20% service, for 12 chef-attended stations, a raw bar, slow-roasted prime rib and the house Champagne.

You want the Broadmoor’s grandest meal without taking a room: seafood on ice, prime rib carved to order and Champagne in the resort’s first dining room, the lake below the windows and children at half price.
You want a Saturday, a smaller bill or a holiday table without a room: from Monday to Saturday the Lake Terrace serves breakfast à la carte, Ristorante del Lago every day but Tuesday, both until 11am; on the 4 holidays the public brunch moves to Broadmoor Hall, at $145.
The Lake Terrace, the Broadmoor’s first dining room
The brunch is laid out where the resort’s guests have always eaten, on the mezzanine of the main building, with Cheyenne Lake and Cheyenne Mountain beyond the windows.
The Lake Terrace was the first dining room for The Broadmoor’s guests, the hotel says, and it is 3 rooms that work together: the Crystal Room for 90, the Fountain Room for 100 and the Main Dining Room for 220, all looking over Cheyenne Lake to Cheyenne Mountain.
The buffet seems to be as old as the Forbes and AAA ratings the resort has held since the 1970s, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported in September 2025, when it still cost $105. The Sunday begins on Wednesday, when the kitchen counts the week’s reservations; the hams go into the oven at 11 on Saturday night and roast slowly until the morning team arrives at 4.
Some of the table comes from the resort itself. The brunch sets out honey from Eagles Nest Ranch (the menu), the eastern Colorado ranch that supplies all the Broadmoor’s Wagyu, and the dining FAQ lists the resort’s own greenhouses, apiary, bakery and chocolate kitchen.
We came at the Broadmoor’s brunch from 4 sides: 12 of the hotel’s own pages and menus, read on 28 and 30 September 2026; the 2 OpenTable listings and the Gazette’s report; Google’s results for the search and 2 answers ChatGPT gave about it; and the 2,000 newest Google reviews with text, out of 9,967. 59 mention the brunch and 47 of those give 5 stars; 5 say plainly that their authors came for the brunch without a room. Only 2 say how they parked, and they disagree: free valet at the front door in October 2024, the car park in July 2026.
A Sunday at the Lake Terrace, hour by hour
Book first: the brunch takes reservations only, online from the brunch page or by phone, and a table cancelled less than 48 hours ahead costs $50 a guest. Then leave time to park.
8.40am
Parking
The drive in is at 1 Lake Avenue. The hotel’s policies charge visitors $6 per half hour, up to $30 a day, and the brunch pages say nothing about diners. One brunch guest had free valet at the front door in October 2024; another, in July 2026, was told that brunch reservations park in the car park (Google reviews).
9am
Up to the mezzanine
At 9 the Lake Terrace Dining Room opens for brunch, on the mezzanine of Broadmoor Main. A guest in October 2024 described the way in: through the lobby, up an escalator and into a lounge above the lake (Google reviews).
9.15am
The stations
There are 12 chef-attended stations, the hotel says. At the raw bar, oysters from both coasts, poached shrimp and snow crab claws; on the carving boards, prime rib and bourbon-glazed ham; then omelettes, eggs Benedict and sushi rolled to order (the menu). A pianist plays all morning.
10.30am
In the glass
Coffee, tea, juice, soft drinks and the house Champagne are included, with a non-alcoholic Champagne and sparkling cider; espresso drinks and any other alcohol are charged, says the menu. The cappuccino that the brunch page suggests with your plate is one of those extras.
11.30am
Dessert, and the children
Bananas Foster has a station of its own, the fruit cut into a hot pan of caramel and rum. In 2025 the Colorado Springs Gazette also found funfetti pancakes and a purple cereal parfait for children, and a penny for each of them to throw into the fountain outside the dining room.
1pm
The bill, then the lake
At one the buffet closes. With the 20% service charge the bill is $132 an adult and $66 a child, $396 for 2 adults and 2 children. Then walk round Cheyenne Lake: a brunch guest in 2024 recommended the path for exactly that (Google reviews).
The Lake Terrace, Broadmoor Hall and the nearest other buffet
Broadmoor Hall, where the public holiday brunches are held, is across the street: 481 metres and 6 minutes on foot from Broadmoor Main. The breakfast buffet at Cheyenne Mountain Resort is 3.4 km away, 5 minutes by car.

On the 4 holiday brunches a room is what gets you into the Lake Terrace: that day it is kept for overnight guests and members.
A Lakeside Patio Suite: 2 armchairs before a white marble fireplace with the fire lit, a painting above it, a writing desk and a round glass table by a curtained windowA Lakeside Junior Suite: a carved wooden bed with pale green cushions, a desk and an armchair by a tall curtained window
The hotel’s rooms look over the mountains or the lake. In the Lakeside Building, the Lakeside Patio Suites add a private patio and a fireplace, and the Lakeside Junior Suites a king bed and a desk. The night before a Sunday is not cheap: on Google Hotels, read on 28 September 2026 for 2 adults, Saturday 30 January 2027 showed $387, before the 10.20% tax and the $45 daily resort charge in the hotel’s policies.
Days, formats and prices from their own pages, and the minutes from the Lake Terrace.
The regular brunch sits between the à la carte breakfasts, with main dishes from $25 to $38 at the Lake Terrace and $22 to $34 at Ristorante del Lago, and the $145 holiday brunch. For a lighter Sunday the resort has its own answer: Ristorante del Lago serves breakfast every day but Tuesday until 11am. 5 minutes away by car, Cheyenne Mountain Resort lists a breakfast buffet every morning and no Sunday brunch; on OpenTable it sells a Thanksgiving brunch on 26 November at $110 an adult and $50 a child, and says parking is free for non-guests. The Sunbird, still recommended in a Reddit thread that Google showed for this search, closed in 2018, the Gazette reported. And on Google, on 30 September 2026, «broadmoor brunch» opened on a map of the Lake Terrace, the holiday brunch and Ristorante del Lago, and of the 26 results below it, led by Instagram, TikTok, Tripadvisor and Reddit, none came from the hotel’s own site.

Questions about the brunch
Access, the bill, dress, parking and the holidays: what people ask before a Sunday at the Lake Terrace.
Can you go to the Broadmoor’s Sunday brunch without staying at the hotel?
Yes. The Sunday Brunch page opens reservations to the public and to overnight guests alike, and at least 5 of the Google reviews that mention the brunch come from people who came for it without a room. The exception is the 4 holiday brunches, when the Lake Terrace is kept for overnight guests and members and the public brunch moves to Broadmoor Hall.
How much is the Broadmoor brunch, and what is included?
$110 an adult and $55 a child of 10 or under, plus a 20% service charge: $132 and $66 in all. That buys the whole buffet, from the raw bar to the Bananas Foster, with coffee, tea, juice, soft drinks and the house Champagne; espresso drinks and any other alcohol are extra, says the menu. In September 2025 the Gazette still gave $105.
What should you wear to the Broadmoor brunch?
Dressy resort attire, which the dining FAQ spells out: a collared shirt for men, with a sport coat or blazer suggested, over slacks, dressy denim or Bermuda-length shorts; business or cocktail wear for women; no sportswear, pool wear or men’s hats.
Where do brunch guests park, and does it cost anything?
The brunch pages don’t say. The hotel’s policies charge visitors $6 per half hour, up to $30 a day, so 2 hours at brunch would come to $24 if nothing is waived. Guests’ accounts differ: free valet at the front door for a brunch guest in October 2024, the car park for another in July 2026 (Google reviews). In the holiday season the hotel keeps valet for overnight guests and diners with a reservation, and OpenTable says garage parking is free for the holiday brunches.
What happens at Easter, on Mother’s Day, at Thanksgiving and at Christmas?
The public brunch moves to Broadmoor Hall, across the street from Broadmoor Main, at $145 an adult and $55 a child, plus 20%, and the Lake Terrace is kept for overnight guests and members. OpenTable gives the hours, 10am to 3pm, and 11am to 4pm on Thanksgiving; the next one is Thanksgiving, on 26 November 2026. Asked on 30 September 2026, ChatGPT gave $50 for a child; the hotel and OpenTable both say $55.
How far ahead should you book?
The hotel gives no booking window for the Sunday brunch, only that a table is required and that cancelling less than 48 hours ahead costs $50 a guest. Tripadvisor posts spoke of 6 months in 2016 and several weeks in 2017. For the holiday brunches, OpenTable releases tables 181 days ahead, at midnight Mountain time.
Is the Broadmoor brunch good for children?
Yes, and children of 10 or under pay half, $55. The griddle station builds pancakes with chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles (the menu); in 2025 the Gazette also found funfetti pancakes and a penny for each child to throw in the fountain outside. At the Easter brunch of 2025, guests reported cotton candy and a chocolate fountain for children (Google reviews).
Can you visit in December just for brunch?
Book a table first. For the holiday season the hotel invites visitors who are not staying in 3 Monday-to-Thursday windows only, 30 November to 3 December, 7 to 10 and 14 to 17 December; it keeps valet for overnight guests and diners with a reservation, and warns that tables in all its restaurants will be limited (holiday FAQ).
Can you bring a birthday cake?
No. The dining FAQ allows no outside food or drink, cakes included, and points to its chefs’ desserts instead. It also asks diners to take phone calls outside the room.
Is there a brunch on Saturdays?
No, the brunch is Sundays only. From Monday to Saturday the Lake Terrace serves breakfast, 7 to 11am, à la carte and without a booking, and Ristorante del Lago serves it every day but Tuesday, at the same hours.
