The Cosmopolitan pool: Boulevard and Chelsea, what a daybed costs and why to swim before 5pm

The Cosmopolitan pool means Boulevard and Chelsea, both open from 9am to 5pm daily on the hours printed on 11 October 2026. A daybed or cabana carries a food and drink minimum: on the October dates we read, from $75 at Chelsea to $2,000 at Boulevard, before tax and fees.

When to look elsewhere

You want a swim after a day out, or shade without paying for it: both pools close at 5pm and every reserved seat carries a minimum spend.

Other Strip pools

Boulevard for the crowd, Chelsea for the quiet, Marquee for the party

The resort calls them the Pool District; the third admits only guests aged 21 and over.

Boulevard is the social one. The resort’s page promises upbeat music, lounge chairs and daybeds set close together, and in summer films shown on the marquee. It opens at 9am and closes at 5pm, Monday to Sunday, and the kitchen stops sooner: the last call for food is at 4pm.

The Chelsea Pool keeps the same hours and is sold as the retreat, with what its page calls havens of varying seclusion. The booking page places it on level 14 of the Chelsea Tower, and there it sells something Boulevard’s calendar did not list: a single Premium Lounge Chair. The data behind that calendar showed the chair for 1 guest and a daybed for 4; neither figure is written out in the listing, whose words give only the cabana, for up to 8 people.

The third pool is a club. Marquee Dayclub, on level 2 of the Boulevard Tower, opens daily from 11am to 6pm for guests aged 21 and over, with tickets and tables sold by Tao Group; the resort gives its rooftop as 22,000 square feet. Through autumn and winter it goes under a dome that rises 50 feet above the deck and keeps the water at 90°F, on Tao Group’s account. On 11 October 2026 the club’s calendar read ‘Closed for dome installation’ against 12, 13 and 14 October, and Martin Garrix was booked for 31 October and 21 November.

Reserved seats are priced by the day. The resort charges no rental fee and sets a food and drink minimum instead, and each booking page heads its calendar with a notice saying so. Every figure here is that minimum as listed on 11 October 2026, and it moved with the day of the week. At Chelsea, listed for 12 October to 18 November, a daybed with a canopy or an umbrella asked $150 and a cabana $350 on most dates; on Wednesday 21 October the daybed fell to $75, and on Saturday 17 October it stood at $650. At Boulevard, listed for 12 to 24 October, Tuesday 13 October ran from $175 for a Lower Deck Daybed to $550 for a Lower Deck Cabana and $750 for the Boulevard Terrace Lounge, which also carried a $225 fee the listing labels ‘Dedicated Bartender’; on Saturday 17 October the 2 kinds still listed were a premium daybed at $650 and a cabana at $2,000.

The pool pages print no season, which leaves the booking calendars. Boulevard’s calendar listed seats for each day from 12 to 24 October and none later in the 45 days it returned, while Chelsea’s ran to 18 November and was headed ‘Beverage ONLY’ from 31 October; neither calendar says a pool closes. The last winter dates we could read are in an MGM Resorts press release of 1 November 2024: that season the Boulevard Pool became a 4,200-square-foot ice rink from 28 November 2024 to 12 January 2025. Nothing we read on 11 October 2026 says whether the rink returns this winter.

Guests’ accounts on Google turn on the clock, the shade and the bass. 2 guests, one writing at the end of August 2026 and one at the end of September, found the 5pm close earlier than they expected, and one of them reached the pool just as it shut. A guest in May 2026 wrote of too little shade, most of all on the Boulevard side, and of being quoted $925 for a cabana with its food and drink credit. One in July 2026 found Chelsea lively without being loud and recommended a daybed with a canopy; another in September 2026 called a rented cabana one of the best parts of the trip. A guest in late August 2026 was woken at 9am each day by bass from the pool, and one in September 2026 had a room beside Marquee Dayclub, with loud music from about 11am.

6 things to settle, from the booking to the walk back

  • Use the pool’s own page, or write

Each pool’s page has a ‘Find Seating’ button that opens the booking calendar. For enquiries the resort gives one e-mail address, its cabana sales desk’s, printed on the same pages.

  • Expect to pay it all at once

A cabana or daybed is secured by paying 100% of the rate in advance, with tax, gratuity and service fee on top. A card is asked for again at check-in, for anything ordered beyond the minimum.

  • Check in at the Host Desk

Bring photo ID and the card. On the pool pages a reservation not checked in before 11am may be released, unless you asked for a later arrival beforehand; the purchase policy on Boulevard’s booking page says 12pm.

  • Order from the pool menu only

Outside food and drink are not allowed at the pool, and only what is bought and eaten inside the pool area counts towards a minimum. To-go orders and poolside spa services do not count.

  • Spend the minimum before the last call

Whatever is left of a minimum at the end of the day is charged as a rental fee. The pool pages put the last call for drinks at 5.30pm; the terms on Chelsea’s booking listing say half an hour before the pool closes.

  • Cover up for the casino floor

Uncovered swimsuits are allowed inside the pool areas only. Through the rest of the resort a cover-up is required, and shoes.

The Bungalows stand over the dayclub: 3 levels, a plunge pool and a terrace on top. Anyone who sleeps late should weigh that view against the music: the dayclub opens at 11am.

The Cosmopolitan pool: your questions

What time does the Cosmopolitan pool open and close?

Boulevard and Chelsea both list 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week, as read on 11 October 2026. Marquee Dayclub runs from 11am to 6pm. In our Google reviews one guest in July 2026 wrote of a 6pm close and another in early September 2026 gave the hours as 10am to 6pm, so they have moved before: check the pool’s page the week you travel.

Can I use the Cosmopolitan pool if I am not staying at the hotel?

Only with a reserved seat, on the one text that covers it. The pool pages do not raise the point, but the note on the Boulevard Pool’s booking page, read on 11 October 2026, says that people who are not registered at the hotel must reserve a daybed or cabana to gain entrance. The note speaks of the resort as a whole and names neither pool.

How much is a cabana or daybed at the Cosmopolitan?

It changes by date, and the figure is a food and drink minimum, with no rental fee on top. On the booking calendar read on 11 October 2026, a Chelsea daybed was mostly $150 and a cabana $350 for dates from 12 October to 18 November; a Boulevard daybed started at $175 and a cabana at $350 for 12 to 24 October, with Saturdays well above that. A $150 minimum comes to about $196 once sales tax (8.75% or 8.375%, both are printed), the 18% gratuity and the 4% fee are added: our arithmetic, with each percentage taken on the minimum.

Is the Cosmopolitan pool open in winter?

The pool pages do not print a season. When we looked on 11 October 2026, Boulevard’s seats were listed only to 24 October and Chelsea’s to 18 November, under the heading ‘Beverage ONLY’ from 31 October, and no page said that either pool shuts. In the winter of 2024 to 2025 the Boulevard Pool was turned into an ice rink, on a press release of 1 November 2024; the pages read give no such plan for this winter. Marquee Dayclub carries on under its heated dome.

Can I use Marquee Dayclub as a hotel guest?

The pages read do not say that a room key gets you in. Marquee Dayclub sends everyone to Tao Group, which sells its tickets and tables, and the resort’s Pool District page says guests must be 21 or older and that reservations are encouraged.

Do I have to pay for somewhere to sit?

The pool pages say nothing on how unreserved chairs are given out. A guest in June 2026 described the ordinary seats as first come, first served, and one in May 2026 found plenty of them at both pools; 2 others, in July and August 2026, found none free. What can be reserved is a daybed, a cabana or, at Chelsea, a single Premium Lounge Chair, which asked a minimum of between $25 and $200 on the dates listed on 11 October 2026.

Can I bring my own drinks or snacks?

No. The reservation policies on both pool pages bar outside food and drink, and the menus ask you to be 21 to be served alcohol.

Which pool is better for children?

Marquee is closed to anyone under 21, which leaves Boulevard and Chelsea. Neither page gives an age rule or a children’s pool; Boulevard is the one with films on the marquee in summer.
