I come to Walliserhof because the spa is included on arrival and departure days too. Saas-Fee is car-free, though: the car stays in the paid car park at the village entrance.

Is it for you?

My choice for 2 is a Deluxe. In its bathroom, round mirrors hang above the basins.

I’d ask for
A Deluxe with a glacier view.
Worth knowing
Only some Deluxe rooms have a balcony.

Stools at the Hotel Bar
  1. The ski bus

In winter, the free hotel bus follows fixed stops and a timetable. A Salewa backpack is available in the room throughout the stay.

  2. With a dog

A dog costs CHF 30 a night. If left alone in the room, hang the do-not-disturb sign; beds and upholstered furniture are reserved for people.

  3. The exact room

Without a written agreement, booking a category does not guarantee a specific room. If you have a particular room in mind, I would seek confirmation before travelling.

What Walliserhof is

Walliserhof is a 5-star hotel in Saas-Fee village. The Grand-Hotel Belle Vue opened here in 1883; after extensive renewal, the hotel reopened under its current name in 2019.1 Rooms occupy the main building and an apartment building connected without going outdoors.1 Spruce, oak, slate and wool fabrics feature in the interiors.1 Dining ranges from gourmet cooking to Swiss fondue and Italian dishes.1

I would choose Walliserhof for its 2,100 m² Grand Spa, with time for a swim after skiing.

How we choose the hotels

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Walliserhof’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. A guest likes being between the bus terminal and cable cars, without an uphill walk back to the hotel.

  2. Room

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. A slightly hard bed and thin pillow affected one guest’s assessment.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. A guest reports that a request for slippers at reception was still unfulfilled the following evening.

  4. Breakfast

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The buffet is appreciated for quantity and variety; a vegan guest would have liked more plant-based choice.

  5. Price

5 in 10 guests who mention the price find it fair. A group of 9 adults found the price reasonable, taking the location into account.

327 guests said so on Google, from 4 January 2020 to 16 October 2026. The other hotels are assessed on the same 5 themes. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Saas-Fee and, as a regional comparison, Zermatt:

Price: for 2, the night of 3 December 2026, from 276 CHF on Google Hotels on 23 October 2026.

What a night costs, period by period

For a lower price, I would look at Sunday-to-Thursday nights in November and early December. Later periods start at higher prices.

Is spa access included? What about non-residents?

Staying guests have access to the spa, fitness facilities and sports programme. For non-residents, Day Spa costs CHF 95 per person, on request and with advance booking: wellness, gym and CrossFit, robe, slippers, towels and the sweet afternoon snack are included.11

What does gourmet board cost?

The supplement is CHF 75 per person per night, with a daily-changing 4-course menu; for children aged 6–15, CHF 37.50. Drinks are excluded. Dinner is mainly at Cäsar Ritz; when it is closed, the menu is served in another hotel restaurant.1

What is the minimum booking and check-in age?

Guests must be at least 18 and have valid identification.1

Hotel prices are in Swiss francs and include VAT; the cantonal tourist tax is added to the room price. Payment and other terms depend on the confirmed rate.1

How does the 4-for-3 offer work?

Can weddings and events be held here?

The hotel hosts weddings and helps plan them. Seminars, conferences and corporate events can accommodate up to 300 people.11
