I come to Bad Ragaz for thermal water right in the room: in the Tower it runs from the tap in every room. The outdoor Garden Pool, though, opens only from mid-April to mid-October: in winter the Thermal Spa keeps the Helenabad and the Sportbad.

Is it for you?

For 2, the choice is a Spa Suite in the Tower: sauna, whirlpool tub and steam shower are inside the suite.

What Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is

Grand Resort Bad Ragaz brings 4 hotels together, sharing restaurants, thermal baths and spa. All 6 categories at Grand Hotel Quellenhof are suites; Hof Ragaz, whose history goes back to 1868, has modern rooms and the Family Rooms; the Tower, on a hill above the resort, holds the spa suites. The Palais, built in 1774 as a governor’s residence, is the resort’s oldest building and has only a few rooms.1234

In the guide because the thermal water of the Tamina Gorge, discovered in 1242, reaches all the way to the bath products in every room.

How we choose the hotels

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Grand Resort Bad Ragaz’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

Every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Several guests describe the park with its sculptures and the mountains opposite. One uses it as a base for driving to Liechtenstein and Davos.

  2. Room

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests describe big rooms with a balcony and a view; in a Grand Deluxe, one also finds a choice of pillows. Two guests, though, hear the corridor or the lift through the door.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Staff kindness comes up often, from reception to the restaurants. 2 guests describe long waits, one on the terrace and one in the garden restaurant.

  4. Breakfast

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The choice and the table service are liked. One guest describes waiting for a table on a busy day; another finds the buffet more like a simpler hotel’s.

  5. Price

Guests who mention price mostly cite steep bills: a CHF 8 cappuccino, a 0.5-litre bottle of thermal water at CHF 6.50, a fee for settling the bill in pounds. One guest who stayed a single night, though, finds it worth the money.

165 guests said so on Google, from 25 October 2024 to 22 October 2026. The reviews include visits to restaurants and bars without an overnight stay. The other hotels are assessed on the same 5 themes. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against among Swiss five-star hotels:

Price: for 2, the night of 24 January 2027, from 485 CHF on Google Hotels on 23 October 2026.

What should you allow for in times, tax and cancellation?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by noon. The tourist tax is CHF 4.60 per person per night. Without a treatment there is the Spa Membership Essential: CHF 1,350 for 6 months or CHF 2,100 for 12, with entry Monday to Friday from 12pm to 8pm. At the Tamina Therme, a day pass costs CHF 57 Monday to Friday and CHF 64 at weekends and on public holidays.12345

Are there offers or packages?
