The choice, in short

Why choose Atlantis The Royal

You want an afternoon between a salt cave, a charcoal sauna and a steam room for the price of one treatment, on a day from Monday to Thursday.

The price list

When to look elsewhere

You are staying in the hotel and expected the thermal rooms to come with the room: they open only with a treatment, and children under 12 are not admitted.

Gold-dipped stones, Arabic infusions and a retreat you reach through a treatment

One price list, 2 columns: the day of the week decides what you pay.

AWAKEN Spa takes bookings from anyone, and the hotel’s own questions page lists it among the things a visitor may come in for, with the restaurants and the waterpark. The week is cut in 2 different ways. For opening hours Friday is a weekday, 11am to 8pm; on the price list Friday is already the weekend, which runs to Sunday, and public holidays are charged the same way.

The thermal side is called the Elements Retreat. The hotel’s questions page lists what is in it: a halotherapy salt cave, a hydrotherapy pool with air loungers, a snow fountain, an alchemy shower, an aromatherapy steam room, a charcoal sauna, tepidarium loungers, a deep relaxation retreat, a meditation garden and a refreshment lounge. The same page says that only guests who have booked a spa treatment have access. A hotel guest writing on Google in August 2026 had been assured by guest services that in-house guests could use the facilities without a treatment, and was told the opposite on arriving at the spa.

3 entries are worth knowing by name. The Golden Hour Massage lasts 90 minutes and uses volcanic stones hand-dipped in 24-karat gold: AED 1,200 from Monday to Thursday, AED 1,300 from Friday to Sunday. The Local List, headed ‘Authentic Arabic Infusions’, has a Desert Sand & Date Sugar Infusion and a Gulf Salt & Moringa Leaf Infusion, each an hour for AED 760 or 910. The AWAKEN Hammam washes with olive, date and laurel soaps, then scrubs and finishes with a rose clay mask: 1 hour, AED 920 or 1,020. The Royal Sensorium, printed above it under the heading Hammam Sensorium, takes 2 hours and costs AED 1,880 or 2,080.

The rest of the list climbs in steps. The least expensive full hour is the Rasayana Detox Body Polish at AED 500 or 600, and a 45-minute back, neck and shoulder massage is AED 620 or 670. The AWAKEN Massage costs AED 820 or 970 for the hour, as do Massages Of The World, the Lymphatic Massage and the Restore Aromatic Massage; deep tissue is AED 880 or 1,030 and the Classic Hydrafacial AED 1,080 or 1,230. For 2, the AWAKEN Couple’s Massage is AED 1,640 or 1,940 for an hour, and the 3 couples’ rituals run from Sweet Love, 2 hours at AED 3,360 or 3,560, to The One, 3 hours at AED 4,280 or 4,480. A massage in your room costs nearly twice the spa’s price: AED 1,520 or 1,790 for the hour.

Teenagers have a small list of their own, a Teen Spa Massage at AED 820 or 970 and a Teen Purify & Balance Facial at AED 880 or 1,030, and a rule to go with it: guests aged 12 to 16 are welcome between 9am and 2pm, with a parent or guardian of the same gender, and from 2pm every area is for adults. The spa’s page gives that 9am beside opening hours that start at 11am on weekdays and 10am at weekends, so ask which morning hour applies when you book for a teenager.

Guests’ accounts on Google are split between the treatment and what surrounds it. One in January 2026 called it the best spa they had tried in Dubai, and a German guest in December 2025 found it minimalist and quiet, with a very good massage, and advised booking on the day you arrive because of demand. A couple who came for a spa day in June 2026, for a wedding anniversary, wrote that the treatment was excellent and the therapists wonderful, and that every complimentary facility, pools, lounges, steam rooms and saunas, was divided into a men’s and a women’s side with no shared room to rest in afterwards; the spa’s pages do not say how those rooms are divided. One guest, writing in October 2026 about a stay from 22 to 25 September, found the spa closed while staff described it as ‘fully committed’ until the Friday; no page we read mentions a closure, and it is that one guest’s account.

6 things to settle before you go down to the Promenade Level

  • Choose the day before the treatment

Every price has a Monday-to-Thursday and a Friday-to-Sunday figure, and a public holiday counts as a weekend.

  • Use the online page, the telephone or WhatsApp

Treatments can be booked on the spa’s booking page, on +971 4 426 2131 or by WhatsApp on +971 56 329 1937. The spa recommends booking in advance.

  • Book a morning

Ages 12 to 16 come with a parent or guardian of the same gender and must be out by 2pm.

  • Leave time for the retreat

Access to the vitality pool, the charcoal sauna, the aroma steam room and the salt cave is complimentary for spa guests, so the hours either side of the appointment are part of what you paid for.

  • Ask for a voucher by email

AWAKEN e-gift vouchers are sold by email, at theroyal.awaken@atlantisdubai.com.

  • Look at the boutique

Everything used in a treatment is on sale: the house’s own massage oils and mists, and skincare lines that include Augustinus Bader, Subtle Energies, AMRA and La Sultane de Saba.
