When to look elsewhere

On a night like 7 December 2026 the $50 fee cost more than the room, and a third or fourth guest adds $40 each, plus tax.

Along the Strip

MGM Grand’s year in 329 nights, October 2026 to September 2027

A floor of $73 on 74 nights, and Saturdays at 3 times a Monday.

MGM Grand had a price on 329 nights of Google Hotels’ calendar when we read it on 11 October 2026, for one night and 2 adults: the first was 12 October 2026 and the last 7 September 2027. Each figure is the lowest Google showed for that night; it carries no room name, and Google does not say whether resort fee and tax are in it. What stands out is how flat the bottom is: 74 nights at exactly $73, 3 at $72 (5, 6 and 7 July 2027) and 109 nights in all at $77 or less. Month by month the median night was $155 for the rest of October, about $112 in November, $76 in December, $140 in January, about $148 in February, $76 in March, $87 in April, $157 in May, about $92 in June, $85 in July and $181 in August.

The week has 2 prices: a median of $77 to $85 from Sunday to Thursday, $204 on a Friday and $231 on a Saturday. The dearest nights are few, and most fall midweek: $686 for Thursday 7 January 2027, $679 for New Year’s Eve, $521 for Saturday 4 September 2027, $500 for Wednesday 6 January, $496 for Thursday 3 December 2026 and $495 for Tuesday 27 October. 39 nights reached $300. 2 January nights, the 16th and the 25th, had no price in the calendar, and nothing was shown after 7 September 2027.

10 days earlier, on 1 October 2026, the same calendar had given other figures for some of these nights. Friday 11 December was $963 then and $361 on 11 October; Tuesday 27 October went from $593 to $495, and Tuesday 13 October from $194 to $73. Tuesday 17 November rose instead, from $277 to $416. For Monday 12 October the second reading also listed who was selling: the $73 was the price at Super.com and KAYAK, while the link to MGM Grand itself showed $88 for a Studio King, as did Expedia, and Booking.com showed $98.

To see what the fee does, take Monday 7 December 2026, one of the $73 nights. MGM’s own booking page for that night, read the same day, listed 30 rooms. The cheapest was the Studio King at an average room rate of $34.40 plus the $50 daily resort fee: $84.40, taxes excluded. The fee was larger than the room. The MGM King was $161.60 plus the fee, $211.60. The terms say lodging tax applies to the room rate and to the resort fee alike, but the pages read print no rate, so MGM’s own total for the night cannot be given here. For scale only: The Venetian gives the Clark County room tax as 13.38% in its own terms, and if MGM Grand’s bill carried the same rate, $84.40 would become $95.69. That last figure is our arithmetic on another resort’s rate; MGM prints no such total.

In guests’ Google reviews the extras come up again and again. One guest writing in September 2026 met a hold at check-in that, with the security deposit, came to $700 on the card, and adds that the deposit was returned after check-out. 3 guests, between late August and mid-September 2026, give parking as $20 a day or about that. One, in August 2026, warns of «$200 resort fees no one tells you about»; another, the same month, had the resort fee refunded at check-out after complaining about the state of the room. A third August guest objected to paying a resort fee and then paying again for an umbrella at the pool.

5 things to settle before paying

  • Keep Friday and Saturday out if you can

A Saturday’s median was 3 times a Monday’s. December 2026 and March 2027 each had a median night of $76; August 2027, at $181, was the dearest full month of the reading.

  • Add $50 plus tax for every night

The daily resort fee applies to all reservations. MGM Rewards members at Gold level and above have it removed from the bill at check-out, on eligible reservations.

  • Count it on the fee as well

Lodging tax is charged on the room rate, on the resort fee and on the charge for extra occupants. MGM’s booking page shows every price with the note «Excludes taxes», so ask for the total before paying.

  • A first night’s deposit, then $100 a day held

The first night’s deposit comes back if you cancel at least 72 hours before the arrival date, unless the offer you booked says otherwise. At check-in the card is authorised for room, taxes and resort fees plus $100 a day for incidentals; the FAQ caps the security deposit at $400.

  • 2 people, Wi-Fi, calls and the gym

The rate is for 2 occupants. The fee’s list runs to Wi-Fi, phone calls, Paramount+ on the television, boarding-pass printing, digital newspapers and the fitness centre for guests aged 18 and over, and stops there.

Is the resort fee included in MGM Grand prices?

On MGM’s own booking page, yes: every room shows its average room rate «+ $50 daily resort fee» and a total that excludes taxes. Google’s calendar does not say what its figure holds; for 12 October 2026 its lowest price was $15 below the one on the link to MGM Grand.
