At MGM Grand, allow time to cross the resort towards the Strip or monorail: Google’s lowest seller showed one night taken alone for 2 from $72. For a quiet stay, weigh up the casino, smoking areas and constant movement of other guests.

MGM Grand lazy river
  1. The room to request

For 2, I would ask for MGM King, with 41.4 m² and a personal mini-fridge. Studio King is the compact option at 32.5 m²; book a Strip View category if you want that view.

  2. Five nights in November

From 22 to 26 November 2026, each night taken alone showed $73 in the calendar read on 13 October 2026. By contrast, one night taken alone on 11 December showed $1,099: compare dates before fixing the trip.

  3. Children count as guests

Extra guests cost $40 plus tax per person per night above 2, regardless of age; the maximum still depends on room category. Check that limit before adding children to the booking.

  4. Pack your own float

Pack a float for the pool: the hotel allows guests to bring their own rafts and floaties. Outside food and drink, however, cannot come into the pool area with you.

What MGM Grand is

Lazy river by day, Craftsteak or Morimoto for dinner, then the show you booked: MGM Grand can fill a trip from one enormous resort on the southern Strip. You will cover distance even inside the building. An attractive starting rate grows once you add the resort fee, meals and parking.

For 2, Studio King is the compact choice; MGM King and Two Queen give you more space. Book a Strip View if you want that outlook. Suites add room to spread out, but check the sleeping capacity too: City View and Terrace still sleep 2.

Book SKYLOFTS for private check-in and a butler. Restore rooms focus on rest, with air purification and other dedicated features. For Grand Spa, book a treatment or ask about a day pass; access and prices follow the spa’s terms.

I would choose MGM Grand for days split between pools, shows and restaurants. First I would check which pools operate on my dates: the lazy river, individual pools and dayclub have different calendars. For a quiet stay, weigh up the casino, smoking areas and constant movement of other guests.

How we choose the hotels

Those who come back

Among MGM Grand’s regulars, 4 praise the pools, and 2 describe updated rooms. There are also 2 who praise the staff’s friendliness. A guest writing in September 2026 says each stay lasts 4 days; on the latest visit, they praised the food at TAP.

  • 13 of the 463 reviews with text say it is not a first stay
  • From a second stay to several visits
  • One guest returned after about 10 years

Google reviews with text, written from February to October 2026; only explicit repeat hotel stays counted.

Our reading, point by point

What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.

  1. Location

The Strip and monorail earn praise; resort scale makes some internal journeys lengthy.

  2. Character

A large entertainment resort with pools and shows; the atmosphere is lively and shared with visitors.

  3. Room

Remodelled rooms and beds earn praise; anyone set on a Strip outlook should book a Strip View category.

  4. Staff and service

Many praise the staff; there are queues at the front desk, which some guests skip with self-service check-in and check-out.

  5. Breakfast

Breakfast is not included: Avenue Café serves it 7am to 2pm, and Joël Robuchon, Morimoto, Craftsteak and Hakkasan keep their own bills and bookings.

  6. The bill

Guests who write well of the bill mean the room rate; on top come the $50 plus tax nightly resort fee and, for those arriving by car, $20 a day for self-parking.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do MGM Grand’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The Strip and monorail earn praise; resort scale makes some internal journeys lengthy.

  2. Room

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write about the remodelled rooms, their cleanliness and the comfortable beds, welcome after a day on foot in Las Vegas.

  3. Staff and service

6 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of friendly staff who are quick to help, from the front desk to the pools, and of self-service check-in at the kiosks, which saves the queue at the desk.

  4. Breakfast

Breakfast is not included in the rate: Avenue Café serves it from 7am to 2pm, and from Monday to Thursday offers the Avenue Breakfast at $23.99.

  5. Price

Guests find the room rate reasonable for a clean room and a comfortable bed; the resort fee, parking and the minibar are charged on top.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 18 February 2026 to 1 October 2026. 500 recent MGM Grand listing texts, including casino and dining visits and references to other resort products; not 500 verified stays in the same category. Peer samples and periods are explicit. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Las Vegas: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 1 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

  • New York-New York Hotel & Casino
  • Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

Price: for two on the night of 6 July 2027, from $72 (seen on Google Hotels on 13 October 2026).

What a night costs, season by season

One night taken alone for 2 ranges from $72 to $481 between 12 January and 8 September 2027, apart from the separately listed nights. For a longer stay I would compare a complete booking: from 16 to 23 November 2026, Google’s lowest seller asked $245 a night and the hotel’s own listing $297.

MGM Grand, Caesars Palace or The Cosmopolitan

Caesars Palace occupies more than 85 acres on the Strip, with a walk between parking, reception and tower. At The Cosmopolitan, guests who find the price fair mention the private terrace and the fountain view when their room has one.

MGM Grand questions

What does a night at MGM Grand cost?

The Google Hotels calendar read on 1 October 2026 shows $117 on 5 October 2026, $223 on 3 November 2026 and $391 on 1 December 2026 for 2 adults. The calendar quotes each selected night individually; category and tax inclusion are unspecified. The official resort fee is $50 plus tax per room per night. Each occupant above 2 costs $40 plus tax nightly. Breakfast, parking and treatments are separate unless a specific offer includes them. Source: Google Hotels · Official hotel website

Which rooms are larger, and which have Strip views?

Studio King has 357 square feet, about 32.5 m², one king and a 2-guest maximum. MGM King and Two Queen have 442 square feet, about 41.4 m²: maximum 3 with a king and 4 with 2 queens. Strip View variants specify that outlook; ordinary MGM King does not guarantee it. Executive King and Two Queen have 675 square feet, about 62.7 m², with 4 guests maximum. MGM One Bedroom Suite supplies a private bedroom within 775 square feet, about 72 m², with 3 guests maximum. Source: Official hotel website

What do Restore rooms and terrace suites add?

Restore adds air purification, aromatherapy and sleep-focused features to King, Two Queen, Executive and Marquee; it does not automatically include a spa treatment. City View and Premier City View have dining for 4 but an overnight maximum of 2. 2-level MGM Terrace Suite has 1,300 interior square feet, about 121 m², plus an 800-square-foot terrace, about 74 m²: 2 guests maximum rather than group accommodation. Mirage and Marquee have 2 kings and 4 guests maximum; Marquee adds a pool table. Emerald One Bedroom remains for 2 and Two Bedroom King for 4. Source: Official hotel website

Are SKYLOFTS and The Signature the same booking?

SKYLOFTS is a distinct product within MGM Grand, with private check-in, lounge access and 24-hour butler and concierge. One Bedroom Loft has 1,400 square feet, one king and a maximum of 3; 2 Bedroom has 3,000, one king and 2 queens, maximum 7; 3 Bedroom has 6,000, 2 kings and 2 queens, maximum 9. SKYLOFTS amenities do not belong to ordinary MGM rooms. The Signature has its own listing and reservation; it is not an MGM room category. The private Mansion likewise does not equate to a bookable room in this public catalogue. Source: Official hotel website

What does the spa offer, and what is included?

Grand Spa publishes 30 treatment rooms, saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and lounges. Daily hours are spa 9am–6pm, salon 10am–6pm and fitness 6am–6pm. Spa entry requires age 18 and ID. The page provides facility use on the treatment day; treatments are paid with a 20% service charge. It does not promise free spa entry with the room rate. Cancellation requires at least 4 hours to avoid the full service price. The resort fee includes adult fitness access subject to availability. The official menu linked from the page lists day passes at $75 Monday–Thursday and $100 Friday–Sunday, without reservations and with prices varying by demand; a 50-minute Custom Massage is $170 weekdays or $185 weekends, plus the 20% service charge. Total spa area is not published. Source: Official hotel website · Official hotel website · Spa menu

Are all pools and the lazy river always open?

The complex is described as 4 pools, 3 whirlpools and a lazy river over 6.5 acres, about 2.6 hectares. On 1 October 2026 the page lists complex hours 9am–6pm and lazy river 10am–5pm, but Splash Pool and Private Reserve are seasonally closed; Producers opens only Friday and Saturday. This does not mean 4 pools open daily. Guests of any MGM resort can enter subject to capacity; complimentary seating depends on availability, with paid visitor reservations and purchasable local passes. Cabanas hold up to 10. A precise water temperature and complete winter schedule are not published. Source: Official hotel website

Is breakfast included, and what dining is available?

Ordinary rates and resort fees do not automatically include breakfast. Avenue Café is listed 7am–2pm; Monday–Thursday specials are Avenue Breakfast at $23.99 or all-you-can-eat pancakes at $19.99 under venue terms. The breakfast page also suggests Wolfgang Puck and Cabana Grill. Joël Robuchon, L’Atelier, Morimoto, Craftsteak and Hakkasan have separate bills and reservations. An offer credit does not include meals in every room; a Buffet reference in walking directions does not promise an operating buffet. Source: Official hotel website · Official hotel website · Official hotel website · Official hotel website

Where is it, and how do guests arrive from the airport?

The address is 3799 South Las Vegas Boulevard on the southern Strip. The FAQ lists taxis and rideshare, rather than a free airport shuttle for every room. Check-in starts at 3pm, checkout is by 11am and the registered guest must be at least 21. Casino, dining areas and pool access make internal journeys significant too; unmeasured walking times are not assigned. Parking follows MGM’s published rates and individual reservation terms. Registered-guest self-parking is $20 daily; visitors pay $20 Monday–Thursday or $25 Friday–Sunday for up to 24 hours, and valet is $40. MGM Rewards exemptions and major events have separate terms. Source: Official hotel website · Official hotel website · MGM parking

Which deposits and extra charges should guests consider?

Alongside the $50 plus tax resort fee, each occupant above 2 adds $40 plus tax nightly. The FAQ lists a $100 daily incidental deposit capped at $400 on credit or debit cards; terms allow additional authorisations when spending exceeds the initial amount. A card hold is not automatically a final cost. Standard refundable rates allow first-night deposit refunds with cancellation at least 72 hours ahead; other offers have their own rules. The minibar detects item removal and is not a free personal refrigerator. Source: Official hotel website · Official hotel website

Is the hotel quiet and smoke-free?

Rooms and suites are non-smoking, while designated smoking areas remain in the casino, bars and other spaces. The whole resort is therefore not smoke-free. Scale, shows and nightlife affect the choice; Strip View does not guarantee acoustic isolation. Palm Tree Beach Club is a separate ticketed or reserved venue rather than the ordinary included pool; the former Wet Republic name does not describe the current offering. This research contains no room acoustic measurements. Source: Official hotel website · Official hotel website · Official hotel website

What capacities are available for weddings or events?

The consulted current pages present meeting rooms, restaurants and private venues, but no verifiable ceremony package with chapel capacity and price. The official Grand Ballroom table gives 61,575 square feet, about 5,721 m²: 6,139 theatre, 4,920 banquet and 4,398 reception. These are event configurations rather than wedding or bedroom capacities. The meetings page states more than 850,000 square feet of flexible meeting space overall; private dinners use their own room’s capacity and terms. Accommodation and meals are not implicitly included. Source: Official hotel website · Official hotel website · Official hotel website

Does the hotel close in winter, and is a 2026 New Year’s Eve gala announced?

The consulted current sources do not state a seasonal closure of the whole hotel; the calendar read on 1 October 2026 offers nights from October 2026 through January 2027. A missing price does not establish closure. Pools and venues have separate schedules: Splash and Private Reserve are already seasonally closed. The consulted dining and events pages do not publish a verifiable gala menu and price for 31 December 2026; an ordinary dinner or nightclub ticket does not establish that package. Source: Google Hotels · Official hotel website · Official hotel website · Official hotel website

What is its star rating, and how should reviews be read?

Google Hotels classifies MGM Grand as 4-star; Google Places records 4.3/5 from 112,859 reviews on 1 October 2026. SKYLOFTS publishes its own Forbes Five-Star distinction, which does not transfer to every MGM room. The resort listing includes casino, show and dining visits alongside stays. The 496 Google reviews we read, from 18 February to 1 October 2026, do not separate the category booked or establish the quality of every renovated room. Source: Google Hotels · Official hotel website

Can I travel with my dog?

MGM Grand offers rooms for up to 2 dogs with combined weight below about 45.4 kg. A per-dog nightly surcharge applies; common areas, pools and restaurants have restrictions. Source: Official resort policy.

What does parking cost for hotel guests?

Registered guests pay $20 a day for self-parking; valet is $40. MGM Rewards exemptions and major events have separate terms.
