In Las Vegas the day matters as much as the month: a 4-star costs $101 a night for 2 from Sunday to Thursday and $176 on a Friday or Saturday, resort fee in, tax on top. A 5-star costs $188 and $314.

An event’s own nights cost more than the full week around them, so these figures can top the table. The Grand Prix, 19 to 21 November2, takes a 5-star to $660 a night. The big trade shows take a 4-star to between $231 and $272 a night and a 5-star to between $398 and $494: AWS re:Invent, 30 November to 4 December3, CES, 6 to 9 January4, and the SHOT Show, 19 to 22 January5.

Are the resort fee and tax in these prices?

The resort fee is in, because it’s compulsory. The room tax1 isn’t: 13.38% on and near the Strip, 13% further out, and it comes on top of the price, fee included.

When would you go?

I’d go midweek in July: $96 at a 4-star and $148 at a 5-star.

What the figure includes

A typical night is the middle hotel: half cost more, half less. Each price is the lowest any seller showed for one night for 2 adults, before tax, with any compulsory resort fee in it. For the night of 19 May 2027 the big agencies asked about 12% and 22% more than the lowest seller, at a 4-star and a 5-star. Ask which room it buys and whether you can cancel.
