From 6.30am breakfast to dinner; the Market Menu is $95, the New Waldorf Salad $28.
Waldorf Astoria New York, at 301 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, is the 1931 Art Deco tower that closed in 2017 and reopened in July 2025: 375 rooms where there were 1,400, with Peacock Alley’s clock back in its place.
A week here, month by monthThe Waldorf suits classic New York on a grand scale, with large rooms and a Guerlain spa: one night for 2 adults starts at $882 from 8 January 2027, before tax, the lowest price any seller showed on Google. Anyone who wants a pool will be happier elsewhere.

I would ask for a Deluxe King, larger than the King Room: 53 m², an oversized king bed, a sitting area, a work desk and a deep soaking tub with a separate shower.
Consider 15 to 21 February 2027: nights for 2 adults, before tax, ran from $940 to $1,018 on Google, read 13 October 2026. The dearest week, 7 to 13 December 2026, ran from $2,440 to $4,327.
Valet parking is available 24 hours, at $110 a night for standard-sized vehicles and $125 for oversized ones. The hotel states that there are no in-and-out privileges.
When the clock strikes 5pm, Peacock Alley turns into a cocktail bar, and the hotel’s dining page says there is live music in the evening.
The Park Avenue tower opened in 1931 and for 86 years was the hotel of world leaders, film stars and royalty, of the first Met Gala and of the IBM PC’s launch. Anbang bought it from Hilton in 2015 for $1.95 billion and closed it in 2017; after the Chinese government seized Anbang, it passed to Dajia’s control. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill restored it and Pierre-Yves Rochon designed the hotel’s interiors. The rooms went from 1,400 to 375, with 372 private residences above; The New York Times announced the reopening on 15 July 2025.
Rooms start at the 41 m² Deluxe Two Doubles and run to the 279 m² Waldorf Astoria Suite; the hotel says most are larger than 53 m². On the ground floor are Lex Yard, Michael Anthony’s 2-storey brasserie, then Peacock Alley under the clock and Yoshoku, the Japanese room that serves afternoon tea. The Guerlain spa covers 22,000 sq ft with a hammam and a snow cave; the fifth-floor gym is open 24 hours. There is a pool, but it belongs to the residences.
The MICHELIN Guide gives it 2 Keys. On Tripadvisor it scores 4.9 out of 5 from 160 reviews, on Booking 9.3 out of 10 from 72, on Expedia 9.8 from 87; on Google 4.4 from 2,126, but that figure still counts reviews of the hotel before its closure.
We read the 274 Google reviews with text written since the reopening, from 17 July 2025 to 21 September 2026: 221 give 5 stars. 87% of those who mention the rooms are happy, 83% of those who mention the staff, 85% of those who mention breakfast. New York taxes are added to the rate and breakfast is charged separately; at check-in there can be a wait.

From the hotel’s Google listing, in 2026: old New York found again, a birthday, a free-night price, an evening event, the staff.
The old New York glamour has been kept: spacious, well-appointed rooms, warm service, a location hard to beat, and a sense of history you rarely find in newer luxury hotels.
A first stay, for her mother’s 65th birthday: the welcome starts on the kerb with the luggage, and check-in comes with a tour of the hotel.
A great place to spend an American Express free night: paying $2,000 would be absurd, but the hotel is lovely and the renovation a success. The St. Regis is still another matter.
He was hosting an event that night and the wifi ran at 10 megabits; the front desk sent him to the tech team, the tech team to a cable, and the cable wanted a passcode.
The concierge sent them across town to a closed museum, check-in took them up the wrong lift, and someone came into the room without knocking.

Not for hotel guests. The 25-metre pool on the 25th floor is kept for those who live in the residences, as Hilton itself says in announcing the spa, and as Town & Country and Robb Report write; the hotel’s wellness page lists a spa, saunas, a hammam, a snow cave and a gym, and no pool. Expedia and the MICHELIN Guide list it among the hotel’s amenities: that is a mistake.
It is the Guerlain Wellness Spa, 22,000 sq ft: Monday, Tuesday and Friday to Sunday 9am to 7pm, Wednesday and Thursday until 8pm. It has an infrared sauna, a Moroccan hammam, a snow cave, separate steam rooms for men and women and relaxation lounges. It is for over-18s only.
