Villa San Michele reopened on 28 April 2026 with 39 redesigned rooms and suites and its first Guerlain Spa. Its longer season matters for winter trips: you can stay in the hills above Florence until 3 January 2027.

The restored convent adds autumn to the stay

Following 18 months of work, the accommodation comprises 27 suites and 12 rooms. Interiors in the former convent and those in the gardens have different characters. For a trip for two, I would ask where the room sits as well as what it overlooks.¹

Guerlain Spa has 3 treatment rooms, including a double. If you want treatments together, reserve that appointment while choosing the room rather than leaving it until arrival.¹

The Limonaia occupies 2 storeys and has a private plunge pool. If that is the draw, ask how it will operate during your stay. A longer season changes your dates; it does not by itself guarantee every summer facility.¹²
