Keep this base when you want choices left at the end of the day: dinner, a bar or another walk around Roppongi. I’d add Club only with time to return; paying for it while crossing the lobby once a day would miss the point. For a small garden-and-tatami inn, I’d choose elsewhere.

Is it for you?

For a couple, I’d take City View for some time by the window, then dinner and jazz.

I’d ask for
Select City View on floors 11–20 and make a separate dinner reservation.
Worth knowing
Smoking is permitted throughout Maduro.

Like a regular

The Oak Door dining room with large windows and geometric chandeliers
  1. An upgrade I’d use

With breakfast and returns to the hotel planned, choose Club. For days spent entirely outside, keep the regular King.

  2. A specific outlook

City View takes you to floors 11–20, with different outlooks. Mount Fuji also needs a clear day.

  3. An evening at Maduro

Save an evening for jazz at Maduro, knowing that smoking is permitted at every seat.

What Grand Hyatt Tokyo is

I’d book Club when breakfast and a pause before dinner are part of the plan: the 10th-floor lounge gives you somewhere to return. For a trip spent outside all day, keep a regular room and use the difference in the neighbourhoods.

Tokyo’s distances matter. Roppongi Hills is the reason to choose this address. For days based entirely in Shinjuku, or a small ryokan experience, I’d start with a different stay.

We choose the hotels of this guide ourselves, one at a time: no one pays to be in it.

How we choose the hotels

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The connection to Roppongi Hills provides a sheltered way back, though its levels and escalators take some navigating.

  2. Room

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Space and a well-planned bathroom feel welcome after a day on foot.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Help before arrival and care at the spa stay in guests’ memories.

  4. Breakfast

Guests like the variety and ordering by phone; another guest remembers waiting at the hot-food station.

  5. Price

One guest appreciated using the credit attached to their rate for dinner at the steakhouse.

159 guests said so on Google, from 11 March 2026 to 31 October 2026. Stored Google reviews dated from 4 November 2024. Collections are bounded; the latest 500 with text are read, or every available text when fewer. For the other hotels, we use their respective collections of reviews already read; the number of texts and their dates can differ from this hotel’s. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

Compare 24 January 2027 at 49,048 JPY before choosing an upgrade: on 6 April the minimum reaches 341,771 JPY. In January, account for Roku Roku’s closure if that dinner is part of the plan.

Questions before you book

Where can you eat, and what is breakfast like?

Choices span steakhouse, sushi, kaiseki, teppanyaki, French, Italian and Chinese cooking, with bars too. The French Kitchen serves breakfast 6.30–10.30am, currently for residents only. Grand Club breakfast is included for eligible guests; other rates vary. Half board is not a general room inclusion. Restaurant tables have their own reservations.

What is Nagomi Spa & Fitness like?

Nagomi occupies the 5th floor, with an indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness spaces and treatments. Spa facilities open 6am–10pm, last entry 9.30pm; treatments run 10am–10pm, final appointment 8.30pm. The visitor package includes sauna and bathing facilities under its own terms.

How much does a night cost?

71,256 yen on 23 November 2026, 70,136 yen on 16 December 2026, 49,048 yen on 24 January 2027. These are minima for 2 adults, each night searched separately. They do not identify the room, breakfast, taxes or cancellation terms; those depend on the selected rate. Prices from Google Hotels, 1 November 2026.

What kind of hotel is it, and how large?

A luxury Grand Hyatt within Roppongi Hills, with 387 rooms including 28 suites. The current catalogue separates 11 room categories and 8 suite categories. Entry rooms offer 42 m², a deep soaking bath and a work desk.

Can you hold weddings or large events?

Yes. Its event spaces total 16 venues over 2,800 m². The 1,000 m² Grand Ballroom holds 600–1,200 depending on the arrangement. There is a chapel and a Shinto ceremony room. A wedding price depends on the specific event; floor area alone cannot establish it.

What do guests say, and is it worth it?

Google records 4.4/5 from 5,258 ratings. A guest on 4 October 2026 praises staff and The French Kitchen; a family on 22 October likes the stay but criticises how they were treated at the pool. I’d value the combination of Roppongi, dining and somewhere to swim between outings. It matters less for a trip using only the bed.

What is the pool like?

Nagomi’s indoor pool measures 20 × 7 metres, with natural red granite, a hardwood deck and an adjoining whirlpool. Daily hours are 6am–10pm, last entry 9.30pm. The private heated outdoor pool of 138 m² belongs to the Presidential Suite; it is not part of every room.

Which rooms offer more space or views?

Entry rooms have 42 m²; Deluxe has 55 m². City View rooms sit on floors 11–20 with different outlooks, without a universal Tokyo Tower guarantee. The 142 m² Family Suite includes a connecting 42 m² room. Premium with 2 queens adds a private 30 m² Japanese garden; larger suites have their own separate living spaces and layouts.

What does parking cost?

Resident parking is 6,000 JPY per night. Visitor parking costs 350 JPY per 10 minutes, while dining and events have allowances based on spend or attendance. An event’s parking allowance does not automatically apply to a room booking.

Where is it, and what is the neighbourhood like?

At 6-10-3 Roppongi within Roppongi Hills, around 3 minutes on foot from Roppongi Station. Mori Art Museum, shopping and dining are in the district. I’d choose it to spend time in this part of Tokyo; an active city location cannot promise silence in every room.

Are the pool, gym and spa included?

Residents can use the pool and gym, with 24-hour gym access. Club categories state full Nagomi Spa & Fitness access and include Grand Club and locker-room access. Treatments are separately priced unless the selected package includes them. For visitors, the Day Spa starts at 33,000 JPY for 60 minutes plus 15% service, including sauna and baths one hour before and after; it excludes pool, gym and room use and is for ages 18 and over.

What facilities are available overall?

Dining, bars, pool, spa, fitness, concierge, laundry, room service, work and event spaces. Selected categories allow connecting rooms or rollaways; entry King and Twin rooms cannot take an extra rollaway. Check-in starts at 3pm and checkout is by noon; early and late access depends on availability.

Is there a 2026 New Year’s Eve programme?

Midnight Masquerade at Maduro runs 10.30pm–12.30am, with a 6-piece band, canapés and free-flow drinks for 23,000 JPY per person, tax included and service excluded. Champagne comes only with Premium plans. Online booking closes at 10.30pm on 29 December; smart casual dress excludes jeans and trainers. It is a late-evening celebration, rather than a dinner included with a room.

Are there closures around the travel dates?

The hotel is operating. Roku Roku closes 6 January–1 February 2027; on 11 and 17 January, The Oak Door and Maduro close at 10pm for electrical inspection, with limited overnight room-service menus. The notices do not announce closure of the whole hotel.

Are there stay packages?

Yes. The current programme combines a spa treatment with breakfast buffet, limited to one group per night. Package inventory differs from ordinary room availability. Select the rate naming breakfast, treatments or Club access when those are part of your plan.
