Q: Which new hotels in New York are already open?

Kimpton Era opened on 11 March 2026.5 The Ashbel followed in April4 and the Livingston opened in March of the same year.2

Midtown fills the windows at Kimpton Era. The Ashbel has opened on Park Avenue, and the Livingston has arrived in Brooklyn. On the way is the Plaza Athénée Nobu, on the Upper East Side, expected in 2026.

Where I’d spend some time

At the Era, I’d stay for dinner too: Bar Rocco is Rocco DiSpirito’s Italian-American brasserie.⁵ The Ashbel interests me for its 1928 Beaux-Arts building, recast as a grand Manhattan townhouse.⁴

At the Livingston, I’d start the morning at Goldfinch Café, which serves pastries from neighbourhood bakeries. The hotel also has work by local artists.²

Among the hotels to wait for, I’d look at the Viceroy for time in the spa,⁸ and the Wolseley for all-day dining in the grand café tradition.⁹ In Battery Park City, I’d choose the future Luxury Collection for walks out towards the harbour and neighbouring Wagner Park.¹⁰

Hotel Plaza Athénée Nobu New York

Plaza Athénée will become New York’s first Nobu hotel, with 139 rooms and suites, an omakase restaurant, spa and salon.¹⁴

Early 2027

The Wolseley Hotel New York

76 rooms and suites in the Lambs Club’s 1905 clubhouse, with a planned Wolseley restaurant and a cellar speakeasy.⁹

1 February 2027

Viceroy Park Avenue

252 rooms and suites by Meyer Davis in NoMad, with a rooftop pool and lounge and dining by Tao Group.⁸ It was due in December 2026.¹⁵

Q2 2027

Only YOU Hotel New York

A 4-star superior hotel with 138 rooms by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, on West 45th Street near Broadway.¹⁶ It was due in Q4 2026.¹⁷

Mid-2027

The Luxury Collection, Battery Park City

298 rooms at 2 Little West Street, in the former Wagner: the hotel and restaurants will welcome the public again for the first time since 2020.¹⁰

Autumn 2027

The Nell New York

The first hotel inside Rockefeller Center, from the team behind Aspen’s Little Nell.¹⁸ It was due in 2026.¹⁹
