Danieli Venice has reopened as a Four Seasons, with more to come

Danieli reopened as a Four Seasons on 30 July 2026 with 120 rooms and suites. Its spa is planned for late 2026 and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior for 2027. Book for the restored palazzi; have the wellness opening confirmed if that is what brings you here.

The historic palazzi are back; the whole project takes longer

Palazzo Dandolo and Palazzo Casa Nuova have returned with redesigned interiors and more space for Junior and One-Bedroom Suites. Rooms face the Lagoon, canals or rooftops. If the view matters, it needs to be part of the category you reserve.1

The next stage will take the accommodation total to 168. For a 2027 booking, ask which palazzo will contain your room and whether the Excelsior works will have finished during your dates.1

Danieli Spa is planned with 3 treatment rooms, including one for couples, plus a sauna and hammam. Until you have confirmation for your stay, I would leave those facilities out of the reason for choosing your dates.1

Dates for your diary

What I would ask before booking

Ask before booking · 1Which palazzo and view does my room category guarantee?
Ask before booking · 2Will Danieli Spa, its sauna and hammam be open for my stay?
Ask before booking · 3Will the Excelsior work affect my nights?

Other hotels to consider

If you want to change hotels, I would start with these.

Palazzo Papadopoli at dusk from the Grand Canal: the white façade with its windows lit, the 2 obelisks on the roof and gondolas moored in front of the garden.

Aman Venice

For Palazzo Papadopoli on the Grand Canal, with a waterside garden.

The trade-off

There is no pool: for a swim within the hotel, I would choose another address.

Why choose it

Ask for a Stanza Canal Grande or Grand Canal Suite if you want the canal from your window.

The Gritti Terrace at dusk: laid tables on the wooden deck and, across the Grand Canal, the dome of the Salute.

The Gritti Palace

For a Grand Canal palazzo, its private landing stage and waterside terrace.

The trade-off

It has no shared swimming pool; winter dining is indoors.

Why choose it

If you want the Grand Canal from your bedroom, reserve a category with that view.

Ca’ di Dio seen from the water: the long facade on Riva Ca’ di Dio and the bridge over the canal

Ca’ di Dio

For the Arsenale waterfront, facing San Giorgio Maggiore.

The trade-off

Choose it for Castello and the Lagoon; confirm your room and view before reserving.

Why choose it

VERO is the hotel’s restaurant overlooking the basin.

Before you go

Is Danieli still a Marriott hotel?

Its 2026 return is under the Four Seasons name.1

Have all 3 palazzi been restored?

Dandolo and Casa Nuova have reopened; the Excelsior restoration is scheduled for 2027.1

Can I count on the new spa?

It is planned for late 2026. Ask for its opening and facilities to be confirmed for your dates before booking a wellness stay.1
