Bellevue
The all-day restaurant, 7am to 10.30pm: hand-rolled pasta, sourdough pizza, Pan-Asian and Indian dishes, and tasting menus with paired wines.
The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra is an Oberoi resort 600 metres from the Taj Mahal, with the monument at the window of every room and terraced gardens among pools and pavilions.
Amarvilas suits couples who want 2 nights around the Taj Mahal, with the hotel’s golf cart towards the monument at dawn, from INR 53,392 a night for 2 adults with the lowest seller on Google in June 2027. With a single day in Agra, I would plan it from Saturday to Thursday: the Taj closes on Fridays.
Official site Rooms and suitesWould you go?
Keep it among your hotels and see it on the budget globe, month by month.
The Premier Room with Balcony keeps the 42 m² room and adds a balcony with uninterrupted views of the Taj Mahal, 65 m² in all. I would ask for it to watch the monument outdoors.
From 11 to 14 April 2027, single nights for 2 adults ranged from INR 53,828 to INR 54,354 on Google, read on 17 October 2026. Between the winter’s lone high nights, the calendar reached INR 193,752 on 13 February 2027.
Nightly rates above INR 7,500 carry 18% GST on top. Guests staying on 24 or 31 December 2026 pay a compulsory meal supplement at the hotel: INR 16,000 and INR 19,000 per guest, each plus 18% tax.
From sunrise until nightfall, The Lounge watches the light change on the Taj Mahal through large windows, from an open-air terrace or under its crystal chandelier. I would take a late afternoon there.
Amarvilas opened in 2001 on Taj East Gate Road, 600 metres east of the Taj Mahal. Its lines are those of a Mughal palace, with terraced lawns, pools, fountains and pavilions, but the building stops at 3 storeys: the MICHELIN Guide, which gives it 2 Keys, explains that the Taj had to remain the tallest structure in Agra. Every room and suite looks at it, and the hotel makes that its first argument.
The 6 categories run from the 42 m² Premier Room to the Kohinoor Suite, 230 m² indoors, where even the king bed faces the monument. The Premier Room with Balcony adds 23 m² of balcony; the Luxury Suite has an octagonal glass shower and a bath turned towards the Taj, plus a sun terrace. A butler is on call in all of them.
The days follow the monument: out at dawn by golf cart, back for the 24-metre pool and, in the evening, the hotel puts on a traditional Indian dance. Dinner is at Bellevue, which serves all day, or at Esphahan, the Indian restaurant, with live music. The bar is closed for a remake, and the hotel gives no date for its reopening.

The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra is an Oberoi resort 600 metres from the Taj Mahal, with the monument at the window of every room and terraced gardens among pools and pavilions.
Distinctions
What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.
600 metres from the Taj Mahal, reached by golf cart
A 3-storey Mughal palace, opened in 2001 facing the Taj
6 categories, all with the Taj at the window, 42 to 275 m²
Bellevue all day, Esphahan for dinner, the Lounge from dawn to midnight
A spa for resident guests, with a couples’ suite facing the Taj
The Taj at dawn, the pool by day, the dance at night
What do The Oberoi Amarvilas’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. The Taj Mahal is 600 metres away: guests see it from the bed and the balcony, and write of the free golf cart that takes them to the monument’s gate.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of spacious, well-kept rooms with the Taj Mahal at the window on waking; others write of a narrow bathroom and of pigeons on the balconies.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Staff remember names and occasions, hand over a small marble elephant on departure and pack something to eat for anyone leaving early; others write of the checks at the gate for visitors who are not staying.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Many find breakfast generous and varied; others write of lukewarm dishes at the buffet and of coffee that came after a quarter of an hour.
Guests who write about the bill tie it to the view of the Taj Mahal: some find it worth every rupee, others warn that dinners and drinks are priced high too.
On location it comes ahead of the 4 other hotels it is compared with in Agra.
On the room it comes ahead of the 4 other hotels it is compared with in Agra.
| What | Score out of 10 | Guests who mention it | Happy |

| Room | 8.9 | 127 | 94% |
| Staff and service | 8.5 | 238 | 89% |
| Breakfast | 7.5 | 26 | 77% |
| Price | – | 14 | 57% |
The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 26 March 2023 to 14 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Agra: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 17 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
The hotels we weigh it against in Agra:
Price: for two on the night of 1 June 2027, from 53,392 INR (seen on Google Hotels on 17 October 2026).

The lowest calendar price Google Hotels showed for each night for 2 adults, read on 17 October 2026; no room or meal plan was named. The calendar stops at 11 September 2027, and 29 nights inside it show no price. Lone nights far above their neighbours stay out of the table.
