Breakfast beneath the Gallery’s stained glass is reason enough to stay a while. I’d come for a few days on the estate, as a couple or a family; for a trip changing hotels every night, I’d choose somewhere simpler.

Is it for you?

A Dunraven Stateroom keeps you in the historic part of the house. I’d choose it for an unhurried arrival and time upstairs between a walk and dinner.

I’d ask for
A Dunraven in the historic house and a table for the evening you want at the Oak Room.
Worth knowing
The tasting-menu restaurant closes on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan around the evening that matters to you.
The Dunraven Staterooms

Like a regular

The long Gallery at Adare Manor, with stained glass and wooden choir stalls
  1. A room in the old house

For a stay in the house, I’d choose a Dunraven Stateroom and leave time to return between activities. I would not book it just for sleeping.

  2. Arrange the spa early

If a treatment matters to your stay, book it with the room: the spa recommends 4–6 weeks’ notice. Leaving it until the last day risks changing the plan.

  3. Tea without an overnight stay

For a visit without an overnight stay, I’d choose tea and book a table before arranging the journey.

What Adare Manor is

The present house began taking shape in 1832, when gout had confined its owner indoors. His wife encouraged him to redesign their home, a project that occupied decades. Gargoyles and carved creatures from a medieval bestiary became part of a neo-Gothic residence you can now wander through on the way to breakfast.

A bedroom in the manor is only one way to stay. Rooms in the main house keep you close to the grand interiors; the Manor Lodges and cottages give you a private entrance and a kitchen. For a multigenerational trip, settle that choice before falling for a suite photograph.

There is plenty to fill time outside the bedroom: falconry, walks, the gundog experience and a film in the private cinema. Later, the Drawing Room gives you a place by the fireplace; the Tack Room takes cocktails beneath the vaulted ceiling. I’d leave gaps in the itinerary too. A house like this deserves more than a hurried passage through it.

244 guests said so on Google, from 23 November 2024 to 28 October 2026. Stored Google reviews dated from 4 November 2024; collections may stop at 300 or 2,000 reviews. The latest 500 with text, or every available text when fewer, are read the same way. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay among Ireland’s country-house hotels: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 4 November 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against among Ireland’s country-house hotels:

When I’d go

I’d start with February: the lowest night on 6 February 2027 is €750. Choose it for the house and pools; golf follows a separate seasonal calendar.

Leave time for the estate

Morning

Light through the stained glass

I’d start the day over breakfast without booking an activity straight afterwards; leave the first hours open.

Before lunch

Meet the gundogs

The estate’s Labrador experience is one of the activities to arrange before your stay, alongside falconry.

Afternoon

The club among the trees

The Padel Club is around 3 minutes’ walk from the Manor House, leaving time for a swim before changing for dinner.

Evening

Dinner already arranged

The Oak Room serves tasting menus. On other evenings, keep things more flexible between the Drawing Room and Carriage House.

Questions before you book

How much does a night cost?

A night for 2 adults started at €795 on 5 January 2027; €845 on 1 March 2027; €1,135 on 1 April 2027. These are nights searched separately; check the category, meals, taxes and cancellation terms in the chosen offer. Prices from Google Hotels, 3 November 2026.

Can you visit Adare Manor without staying?

Yes, visitors can come to dine or shop at the resort. A restaurant reservation is advised. Breakfast in the Gallery is for Manor House residents, while afternoon tea welcomes non-residents too.

Which pool can hotel guests use?

For a swim without a booked treatment, use the Padel Club pool.

Can children use the Padel Club?

Yes, families are welcome, with supervision requirements depending on age. I’d book padel, yoga, Pilates and personal training ahead; the pool and gym do not need reservations.

How large are the smallest rooms?

Classic Rooms have 43 m² and a king bed. Deluxe Rooms rise to 50 m², Staterooms to 55 m²; the catalogue also includes adapted rooms and connecting configurations.

Are the lodges and cottages part of the same resort?

They are on the estate near the Carriage House, with their own kitchens and living space. Lodges have 2 or 4 bedrooms, while the Rose and Lavender Cottages have 3. Their check-in time differs from the Manor House.

What time is check-in?

From 3pm in the Manor House and 4pm in cottages, lodges and villas. You can arrive earlier to eat or walk around the estate.

When does breakfast finish?

Breakfast runs from 7am to 10.30am on weekdays and until 11am on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.

Where do Manor Lodge guests have breakfast?

At the nearby Carriage House. The lodge kitchen also gives you the option of catering for yourself.

Can non-residents use the spa?

No. The Spa is reserved for resort residents; its relaxation pool requires a booked treatment. Facials are available from age 16 and massages from 18. The Padel Club pool is a separate guest facility and does not need a reservation. This does not make spa treatments part of the room rate.12

Where can I park?

There are car parks by the Ballroom, Padel Club and Carriage House. The hotel lists 15 charging points in total: 3 Tesla and 12 universal.1

What minimums apply to a Grand Ballroom wedding?

A 2026 wedding requires at least 150 guests and 25 Deluxe Manor rooms for 2 nights. The package starts at €395 per person, plus ballroom hire of €7,500 from April to October or €5,000 in January–March and November–December.1

Give this place a whole day: warm water leading outdoors, a walk through the gardens and dinner booked for the evening. I’d come as a couple; a family holiday built around daily swims needs a different hotel.

I would come with few excursions planned and time for the patio, treatments and walks around the grounds. Daily sightseeing in Los Angeles calls for a different base; from this valley you would have to organise the journeys.

Babylonstoren

At Babylonstoren I’d leave room in the diary: harvesting with the gardeners and baking with the bakers can shape a day. Come to sleep on the farm; for daily sightseeing in Cape Town, I would stay in the city.

I would start with the outlook: Coal Harbour for the view, or the pool for a room with a patio or balcony. Then I would book spa time before dinner at Botanist.

Pan Pacific Singapore’s tower and pool terrace among the towers of Marina Bay

Pan Pacific Singapore

I would use it for a busy Singapore trip: the hotel connects to Suntec, Marina Square and Millenia Walk. A stay spent mostly in a large garden calls for somewhere greener.

Shangri-La Singapore

This is where I would leave time for the children to play and for the hotel itself. A trip built around quick MRT journeys and frequent stops back at the room suits a more immediate city base.
