Beaches and palms
A long shore runs past villas and palms, with room for a beach walk.
Meeru Maldives Resort Island on Meerufenfushi, North Malé Atoll: long beaches, island sports and villas among palms and lagoon.
A week here, month by monthMeeru suits couples and families who want a big island with plenty on it: 4 à la carte restaurants, a 9-hole pitch-and-putt, villas, a buffet and a pool kept for adults and, from May 2027, one night taken alone from $425. Anyone who wants a reef to swim to from the beach, or an island that needs no buggy, will be happier somewhere smaller.

5 pairs of hotels, and the guide tells you whether this one suits you.
For 2 adults, a Water Front Villa on the sunrise shore. Over the water I would ask for an Ocean Villa, in the adults’ row at the northern tip by Maalan, their buffet: 4 guests since 2018, one back every year, chose or recommended that row.
In the calendar read on 12 October 2026 the 7 lowest nights in a row, each taken alone, run from 29 May to 4 June 2027: $425 to $436. At New Year, from 31 December to 4 January, one night costs between $912 and $957.
The shared speedboat, as listed on Booking.com: $220 per adult return for stays from 1 November 2026, $210 until then, half for a child aged 2 to 11. The all-inclusive plan is optional and leaves out room service, fresh juices and excursions it does not list.
Sit out on a water villa’s deck once it is dark: 12 guests since 2021 tell of sharks swimming past the villas, 5 of them in the evening. The resort’s map marks a strong current along both jetties; 3 guests write of it off their own villa.
Beach in the morning, golf later, then a different restaurant for dinner: there is room for that sort of holiday on this 32-hectare island. Families with children stay alongside guests in villas for ages 18 and over, with accommodation and areas catering to each.
Look closely at the villa names. Water Front Villas stand on the shore, on land; Ocean and Jacuzzi Water Villas sit over the lagoon. Family Villas have 2 separate bedrooms. Allow for the walks between your room, restaurants and activities, and a boat trip to the outer reef.
Lumina Guide 2027
Meeru is a big island of 32 hectares in North Malé Atoll, on Meerufenfushi: a long beach to walk, golf, sports and villas between the palms and the lagoon.
How we choose the hotelsAmong Meeru’s regulars, 15 of 23 praise the staff and 4 write of feeling at home, or of a second home. They notice what changes: 2 who wrote in March and April 2026 single out the new gym, and 2 like the way the island is split between families and adults. A guest who reckons it a fifth visit, writing in December 2021, tells of small gifts given to loyal guests.
The 5 things that matter look at the 500 most recent reviews; here, all 795 with text.
What do Meeru Maldives’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write about the clear lagoon, the long white-sand beaches and a big island to explore on foot or by bicycle.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Of the villas guests describe the space and the views: the Jacuzzi Water Villa with steps into the lagoon, the Water Front Villa on the shore, the Family Villa with 2 bedrooms.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The welcome on arrival, housekeeping twice a day and the restaurant, bar and buggy teams, thanked department by department, all recur.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is a buffet, 7.30am to 10am, at Farivalhu and at Maalan, the latter for over-18s.
For guests happy with the bill, Meeru gives a great deal for the Maldives on full board or all-inclusive, and a great deal at no charge: snorkelling, the pools, theme nights in the bars.
On the bill it comes ahead of the 4 other hotels it is compared with in the Maldives.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 6 October 2021 to 3 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in the Maldives: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 5 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
The hotels we weigh it against in the Maldives:
Price: for two on the night of 29 May 2027, from $425 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).
On 12 October 2026 Google showed one night for 2, taken alone, from $425 from May 2027, from $504 between 9 January and the end of April, and never under $727 from 27 December to 8 January; booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller asked $820 a night and the resort’s own listing $924, where the calendar had $471 to $555 for those nights. On 4 October no night from May to late August was under $507; 8 days later 92 of those nights, of the 118 found in both readings, were at $440 or less: for a summer stay I would look for the nights the calendar shows at that price or under, and ask what the whole stay costs before booking.
| Period | Dollars a night |
|---|---|
| 13 October to 26 December 2026 | 374–649 |
| 27 December to 8 January | 727–957 |
| 9 January to 30 April 2027 | 504–890 |
| 1 May to 7 September 2027 | 425–753 |
The lowest price Google Hotels showed for the hotel for that one night taken alone, in a search for 2 adults, read on 12 October 2026; the calendar ran to 7 September 2027, and 7 nights in it had no price. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller Google listed that day asked $820 a night; the resort’s own listing, $924.

Choose Dine Around for its 3-course restaurant menus alongside 3 buffet meals: Asian Wok, A-Mare and The Reef for lunch and dinner, Vilu for dinner only. The PDF is the 4 June 2025 revision for winter 2025/26 and summer 2026, linked on 5 October 2026. Reserve ahead, subject to available tables, and check age restrictions: Vilu and some areas are for ages 18 and over. Included drinks and the once-daily minibar refill follow a selection; room service, fresh juices and unlisted drinks cost extra. Everyone in the room must take it for the whole stay, with alcohol from 18 and no refunds, substitutions or transfer of benefits. Before booking after October 2026, request the applicable terms and per-person nightly supplement, including lunch at The Reef: its page names included dinner, while the dated PDF also lists lunch and the page does not expressly exclude it. If offered the older All Inclusive Plus, its compendium allows one Asian Wok dinner per 5 nights, reserved ahead and excluding special events; do not add that allowance to Dine Around. Meeru Coral Garden lies in the lagoon; the fact sheet describes a boat trip to the outer house reef. The winter 2025/26–summer 2026 Dine Around PDF includes the daily trip, subject to its schedule and available space, for ages 6 and over; under-16s need a parent or guardian. Equipment is excluded, and the plan must cover everyone in the room for the whole stay. Consult the map for snorkelling sites, prohibited zones and strong currents: a villa’s lagoon steps do not give a swim to every part of the reef. Official fact sheet and map

Dream Deal pairs 40% off with return speedboat transfers for 2 guests on a stay of at least 3 nights in Beach Pool Villa or Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villa. Book by 30 November 2026 for 1 October–26 December 2026 or 6 January–31 October 2027. It cannot be combined with other offers or applied to other villas. The 40% discount is not confirmed for 1 or 2 nights, and additional guests fall outside the included transfer allowance of 2. The page gives no code, new-booking requirement, ages for those 2 guests or tax basis for the discount; get those terms in the quote. A separate 2027 offer for 30% off prints the impossible “31 November 2026”, which needs clarification. The March–April 2026 and Black Friday 2025 offers have expired. Offers and conditions
