The pool
30 metres, heated, in the courtyard, 7am to 7pm for guests and members; children swim in the morning, 8am to noon. The pool.
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has become a hotel: where the Corniche offices were there are now 90 rooms with balconies, 6 restaurants round the atrium and a pool in the courtyard.
A week here, month by monthThe Ned Doha suits Doha after dark, with live music nightly, a heated courtyard pool and one night taken alone from 765 riyals for 2 in February 2027, the lowest price any seller showed on Google. Anyone after the rooftop club will be happier elsewhere: it is for members only.

I would ask for a Medium Sea View room, 40–52 m², looking across the Corniche to the Gulf. 3 guests who wrote between September 2025 and May 2026 praise a room or suite facing the sea.
One night taken alone costs 696 to 765 riyals from 14 to 20 February 2027, against 1,105 to 2,240 riyals on 18–24 January (Google, read 13 October 2026). Booked together as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller asked 2,400 riyals a night.
4 guests who wrote between May 2025 and April 2026 name the brunch by the pool or at Malibu: one went on a Friday, another found live bands and DJs playing.
The building was Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, a modernist block on the Corniche put up between the 1960s and 1970s. David Chipperfield Architects reworked it and Soho House did the interiors: The Ned Doha opened for the World Cup in November 2022, the third after London and New York. It has 90 rooms, 12 of them suites, all with a balcony and an emperor bed, and a private club, Ned’s Club, on the roof.
The ground floor is open to the city: around the atrium are Cecconi’s, Kaia, Malibu Kitchen, Electric Diner, Millie’s Lounge and The Nickel Lounge, with live music every night and alcohol served in the licensed venues. Hotel guests use the heated 30-metre pool in the courtyard, 7am to 7pm, the 24-hour gym and the heat rooms of the fourth-floor spa, split between men and women and closed to under-18s. The rooftop Ned’s Club Upstairs, though, is for members only.
Guests give it 5 out of 5 on Tripadvisor from 1,137 reviews, 9.5 on Booking.com from 699 and 4.7 on Google from 1,695; the MICHELIN Guide awards it one Key. The Corniche road passes below the sea-facing rooms, and restaurant prices run from afternoon tea at 180 riyals to the Friday brunch from 300. The web carries errors: MICHELIN says there is no parking, but valet is free, and some guides put the pool on the roof, when it is in the courtyard.
We read the 500 most recent Google reviews with text, out of the listing’s 1,695, from January 2025 to 26 September 2026; then the videos on YouTube and TikTok, press articles, the official pages with the spa PDF, and the walks and drives measured on the map. Iftar and suhoor come up in 24 of those reviews: in winter and at Ramadan the hotel is also Doha’s drawing room.
Lumina Guide 2027
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has become a hotel: where the Corniche offices were there are now 90 rooms with balconies, 6 restaurants round the atrium and a pool in the courtyard.
How we choose the hotelsWhat we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.
On the Corniche beside Al Bidda Park: the metro 10 minutes on foot, the souq 31, the airport 16 by car.
The former Ministry of Interior reworked by David Chipperfield Architects, with Soho House interiors.
90 rooms from 32 to 185 m², all with a balcony; they look over the Gulf and the Corniche or over Al Bidda Park.
6 venues on the ground floor, from Cecconi’s to Kaia, live music nightly, alcohol in the licensed ones.
A heated 30-metre pool, a 24-hour gym, a spa with a hammam that is closed to under-18s.
696 to 1,044 riyals for the nights we read; breakfast extra, but parking is free.
What do The Ned Doha’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. The Corniche is in front and Souq Waqif a short taxi ride away; guests write about the view over the bay and the West Bay skyline, from the rooms and from the restaurant tables.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests describe large rooms, comfortable beds and, from the balcony, the view over the bay to West Bay’s towers.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests thank the staff by name, from the front desk to the waiters at Millie’s Lounge, and write about the live music and the 6 venues round the atrium.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is ordered à la carte at Millie’s Lounge, looking onto the Corniche: guests remember the dishes cooked to order and the morning waiters, thanked by name.
The bill guests write about is the one at the table, across restaurants, iftars and breakfasts: afternoon tea costs 180 riyals and the Friday brunch starts at 300.
On the room it comes ahead of the 4 other hotels it is compared with in Doha.
| What | Score out of 10 | Guests who mention it | Happy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Location | 8.6 | 68 | 96% |
| Room | 8.4 | 67 | 93% |
| Staff and service | 8.7 | 387 | 91% |
| Breakfast | 8.2 | 62 | 87% |
| Price | – | 25 | 28% |
The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 12 January 2025 to 26 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Doha: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 1 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
The hotels we weigh it against in Doha:
Price: for two on the night of 8 February 2027, from 765 riyals (seen on Google Hotels on 13 October 2026).
One night taken alone for 2 on Google costs 765 riyals from 8 February to 7 March 2027 and in June 2027, against 1,005 to 1,300 riyals from 14 October 2026 to 20 January 2027. I would start with 8 February to 7 March 2027.
| Period | Riyals a night |
|---|---|
| 14 Oct. 2026–20 Jan. 2027 | 745–1,300 |
| 21 Jan.–7 Feb. 2027 | 1,360–2,240 |
| 8 Feb.–7 Mar. 2027 | 696–765 |
| 8–14 Mar. 2027 | 1,105–1,600 |
| 15 Mar.–31 May 2027 | 1,005–1,300 |
| 1–30 Jun. 2027 | 765 every night |
The lowest price any seller showed on Google Hotels for one night searched alone, for 2 adults, read 13 October 2026; no room or meal plan is specified. The calendar stops on 30 June 2027; 31 nights inside it have no price, and 16 December 2026 stands apart at 2,704 riyals. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller Google listed that day asked 2,400 riyals a night; it was the only priced seller.
The courtyard and its water channel under the former ministry’s slatted roof, the lobby with its roses and skylight, a room looking over the bay, the green-striped pool, Malibu Kitchen’s terrace, dim sum at Kaia, breakfast at the window and coffee at Millie’s.

Parking is free and valet only, in a secure garage beside the hotel. MICHELIN says there is no parking: it is wrong.
The sea-facing rooms look onto the Corniche and its road; the others look over Al Bidda Park and the city.

On Google Hotels, read on 13 October 2026 for 2 adults and one night taken alone, the lowest price was 745 riyals on 14 October, a night within 3 weeks of the reading, 1,044 riyals on 16 November and 9 December 2026, 696 riyals on 20 February 2027, a lone low night, and 765 riyals on 4 March 2027. Google does not say which room it means, and breakfast is not included. In October, Sunday to Wednesday nights are the cheapest.
The pool from 7am to 7pm, the 24-hour gym and the spa’s heat rooms: sauna, steam room and hammam, with treatments charged. From 3 nights up, some offers add day passes to Bagatelle Beach Club. The rooftop Ned’s Club Upstairs stays members only.
It is on the fourth floor, split between men and women and closed to under-18s, with a Moroccan hammam and Cowshed products. On the 2025 menu a 60-minute massage costs 650 riyals, the hammam ritual 700. The sauna and steam room are free for guests. The site gives different hours; the spa page says 10am to 10pm.
One outdoor pool, 30 metres, heated, in the ground-floor courtyard, not on the roof as some guides say. It is for guests and members from 7am to 7pm; children, accompanied, swim from 8am to noon, the only slot every official page agrees on.
Cecconi’s (Italian), Kaia (Asian), Malibu Kitchen (Californian, by the pool), Electric Diner (American), Millie’s Lounge and The Nickel Lounge, most from noon to midnight; Hadika reopens after the summer.
