Le Jardin and the pool
The 30 by 20-metre pool, with 7 private pavilions, open 9am to 6:30pm; beside it, Le Jardin serves Asian and Mediterranean food.
Inside Marrakech’s walls, 10 minutes on foot from the Koutoubia, the King of Morocco built a private medina in 2010: 53 riads over 3 floors, each with a roof terrace and plunge pool.
A week here, month by monthRoyal Mansour suits a stay built on privacy and a palace’s service; one night taken alone for 2 adults starts at 15,249 dirhams on 16–18 August 2027, the lowest any seller showed on Google. It has no rooms, only riads: anyone who prefers an ordinary hotel room should look elsewhere.

I would ask for the Premier Riad: 175 m² over 3 floors, with a terrace and a plunge pool, against 140 m² for the Superior. Both have one bedroom.
From 12 to 18 July 2027, one night taken alone for 2 adults cost 15,300 to 16,176 dirhams on Google, read 13 October 2026. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller asked 47,966 dirhams a night, the hotel’s own listing the same.
Le Jardin, the garden pool, is open every day from 9am to 6.30pm, and afternoon tea at La Grande Brasserie runs from 3pm to 6pm every day.
Royal Mansour opened in June 2010 as the King of Morocco’s own project; the MICHELIN Guide says he owns it and shaped its design. Instead of rooms there are 53 riads, private 3-floor houses with a patio, a roof terrace and a plunge pool, spread over a 5-hectare estate inside the walls. Tunnels run under the paths, so staff reach every riad unseen. The MICHELIN Guide gives it 2 Keys, and the 2026 list of the 50 Best Hotels places it 26th, the best hotel in Africa.
There are 4 restaurants: La Grande Brasserie, French, 7am to 10:30pm, where afternoon tea is served from 3pm to 6pm; Sesamo, Italian, in the evening; La Grande Table Marocaine, in the evening and at Friday lunch; Le Jardin, beside the pool. The bars stay open from 11am to 1am. The spa covers 2,500 m² over 3 floors, with a 22-metre indoor pool under a glass roof; the garden pool measures 30 by 20 metres.
Guests give it 4.6 out of 5 on Google from 2,424 reviews, 4.7 on Tripadvisor, 9.4 on Booking.com and 10 on Expedia. They praise the riad, the service and the food. Non-residents come in by booking: afternoon tea, at La Grande Brasserie from 3pm to 6pm, is the most common visit.
We read the 500 most recent Google reviews with text, from 16 June 2024 to 1 October 2026; then the official pages for the riads, restaurants and spa, Booking.com, Expedia, the MICHELIN Guide, YouTube videos and the walks measured on the map.
Lumina Guide 2027
Exceptional: two of our three readings say so.

We found tunnels running under the paths, a 2,500 m² spa with a 22-metre indoor pool under a glass roof, a garden pool of 30 by 20 metres and afternoon tea at La Grande Brasserie.
What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.
Inside the walls, 10 minutes on foot from the Koutoubia and 15 from the square; the airport 10 by car.
The King’s project, a private medina of riads, the tunnels under the gardens.
No rooms: 53 riads from 140 to 1,800 m², each with a roof terrace and plunge pool.
4 restaurants and La Grande Brasserie’s tea, 3pm to 6pm, by booking.
A 2,500 m² spa with a 22-metre indoor pool under glass, and the garden pool.
From 15,249 dirhams for one night taken alone in August 2027, breakfast included; in October, November and April the cheapest night passes 25,000.
What do Royal Mansour’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Inside the walls, a short walk from the souks and 15 minutes on foot from Jemaa el-Fna: guests write of the quiet once the gate closes.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The riads are the reason to come: guests describe a 3-floor house of their own, with a patio, a roof terrace and a plunge pool.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of staff who anticipate requests, of the riad’s butler, often thanked by name, and of service that answers at any hour.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast, included, is served at La Grande Brasserie from 7am; guests also describe it on the riad’s roof terrace and in the garden.
5 in 10 guests who mention the price find it fair. The money buys a whole house: a 3-storey riad with a patio, a roof terrace and a small pool, with breakfast included.
On the bill it comes ahead of the 4 other hotels it is compared with in Marrakech.
| What | Score out of 10 | Guests who mention it | Happy |

| Location | 8.2 | 84 | 99% |
| Room | 8.0 | 31 | 90% |
| Staff and service | 8.1 | 276 | 82% |
| Breakfast | 7.7 | 26 | 88% |
| Price | – | 24 | 50% |
The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 16 June 2024 to 1 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Marrakech: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 1 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
The hotels we weigh it against in Marrakech:
Price: for two on the night of 17 August 2027, from 15,249 dirhams (seen on Google Hotels on 13 October 2026).
A night taken alone for 2 adults costs from 15,161 to 22,741 dirhams between 1 July and 8 September 2027 and from 17,715 to 33,632 between 1 December 2026 and 9 March 2027, against 23,523 to 56,754 in October and November 2026. I would choose July or August 2027, the cheapest months the calendar shows.
| Period | Dirhams a night |
|---|---|
| 14 Oct. to 30 Nov. 2026 | 23,523–56,754 |
| 1 Dec. 2026 to 9 Mar. 2027 | 17,715–33,632 |
| 10 Mar. to 4 June 2027 | 22,800–37,651 |
| 5 June to 30 June 2027 | 17,982–23,346 |
| 1 July to 8 Sep. 2027 | 15,161–22,741 |
The lowest price any seller showed on Google Hotels for one night searched alone, for 2 adults, read 13 October 2026; no room or meal plan is specified. The calendar stops on 8 September 2027; 25 October to 1 November 2026 and 23 December 2026 to 2 January 2027 have no price. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller Google listed that day asked 47,966 dirhams a night; the hotel’s own listing, 47,966.
The forecourt where the car door is opened, the courtyard of white drapes under a roof of rings and glass globes, a riad’s green sitting room, the roof terrace with its small plunge pool, the spa’s lace-white atrium, paths between palms and hedges, a lantern under a wooden ceiling and the dining room of La Grande Table Marocaine.

Google’s prices appear to include the 10% tax and the city tax of 50 dirhams per person per night; breakfast is included.
The hotel says the spa’s indoor pool is heated and does not say whether the riads’ roof pools are (read on 15 October 2026), so in winter it is worth asking.

From the hotel’s Google listing: the 3-floor riad, the garden and the spa, afternoon tea.
The riad is over 3 floors, with a small pool and a big bathtub. Dinner by the fire, breakfast on the roof terrace.
Peaceful, private and well maintained. The garden is lovely, with lots of fountains; the outdoor pool is a bit basic, the spa and the indoor pool in the greenhouse are amazing.
The most exquisite tea time I’ve ever had. The pastries were a work of art, the tea selection sublime.
Silk bed linen, staff available on WhatsApp, a spectacular spa, Bentley transfers. Cons: the food is Michelin-level but not ideal for everyday dining.
Woken at 5am by an hour of prayers: our room faced the mosque’s loudspeaker. Telling us, or offering the other side, would have been considerate.
We wanted tea after the iftar: the bar manager refused us entry, saying the space was for people drinking alcohol. The rest of the staff were kind.

The booking engine on the hotel’s site quotes every riad by night, on an advance-purchase rate and a flexible one. On Google Hotels, read on 1 October 2026 for 2 adults, the cheapest night cost 25,275 dirhams on 3 October, 27,198 dirhams on 4 November and 18,420 dirhams on 9 December 2026, 17,298 dirhams on 21 January, 27,625 dirhams on 23 April and 15,717 dirhams on 9 August 2027. It is nearly always the Superior riad; comparing 2 rates with Booking.com, Google’s prices include tax and the city tax. Breakfast is included.
A Moroccan house over 3 floors around a patio, with a roof terrace and a plunge pool: there are no rooms here. A couple needs only the Superior, 140 m², or the Premier, 175 m²; with children take the Privilege, 2 bedrooms and 430 m², or the Prestige, 3 bedrooms and a hammam. The Grand Riad, 4 bedrooms and 1,800 m², is booked on request only. The riads.
Yes, by booking: La Grande Brasserie and Sesamo welcome visitors, the spa takes treatments, and the shop sells a pool day, with a lounger, a mocktail and lunch, at 5,500 dirhams for 2 or 10,000 for 4. Tea must be booked: it is served at La Grande Brasserie from 3pm to 6pm.

2,500 m² over 3 floors, with 10 treatment rooms, 3 private suites each with a hammam and a plunge pool, a heated 22-metre indoor pool under a glass roof, a gym and a salon; 9am to 9pm. The 75-minute signature hammam is 1,700 dirhams, the 60-minute massage 2,500. Visitors are welcome too; a treatment can be cancelled up to 24 hours ahead. The spa.
4: La Grande Brasserie, French, 7am to 10:30pm with Sunday brunch; Sesamo, Italian, 7pm to 10:30pm; La Grande Table Marocaine, 7pm to 10:30pm and Friday lunch; Le Jardin, beside the pool. The La Table of older guides became La Grande Brasserie in November 2023. The hotel publishes no dress code. Restaurants and bars.
The hotel says the spa’s indoor pool is heated. For the garden pool, 30 by 20 metres, it does not say; for the riads’ roof pools Booking.com and a travel review say heated, a guide says not. In winter it is worth asking first.
1.2 km, 15 minutes on foot along the measured route, 14 by Google; the hotel’s site and Booking.com say 5. The Koutoubia is 10 minutes away, La Mamounia 16, the Bahia Palace 28, the Jardin Majorelle 5 minutes by taxi.
Yes, at any age. Le Jardin de Lila is the kids’ club for ages 4 to 10, open daily 9:30am to 5:30pm. Cots are free up to 4; an extra bed is 1,000 dirhams a night from 4 to 12. A family of 4 needs at least the Privilege riad.

Menara airport is 6 km away, 10 minutes by car. Booking on the official site includes the airport transfer and fast-track; for other bookings the hotel does not publish their cost (read on 15 October 2026). Parking is free according to 4 platforms. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by noon.
They depend on the rate. On the hotel’s booking engine, read on 11 October 2026, the advance-purchase rate cannot be cancelled or refunded; the flexible rate is free to cancel until 7, 14 or 21 days before arrival depending on the date, then costs 50% of the stay. On Booking.com, on 1 October 2026, a flexible rate could be cancelled free up to 7 days before, a partly refundable one kept half the price and non-refundable ones the full price.
On price, barely: on the dates compared on Google the hotel’s site was close to Booking.com, and once Hotels.com was 9% lower. The official site adds the airport transfer and fast-track, though, as well as breakfast.
Yes: weddings take place in the Grand Riad, with its garden, pool and terrace, or outdoors at Le Jardin. The hotel publishes no capacities; venue directories give up to 160 guests for a reception and 100 for a seated dinner.
The official pages we read mention no seasonal closure, and Google Hotels showed prices for every month from October 2026 to August 2027; from September 2027 it showed none yet. The cheapest nights fall in July and August.
