Milan hotels with a spa: Palazzo Parigi, Portrait or Gallia?

Among hotels with a spa in Milan, I would choose Palazzo Parigi for Brera, the Gallia for arriving by train, or Portrait for the Fashion District. At Portrait I would book direct: spa entry is included when you book through the hotel’s own website.

Chosen your hotel? Everything you need to go

The Grand Spa’s empty pool, with turquoise water, an arched end wall and loungers along the sides.

The spa during your stay

The Grand Spa corridor with its lit Moorish arches.

Palazzo Parigi

A couple wanting daylight and spa time on a city break.

The trade-off

Hotel guests under 12 must be accompanied by an adult1.

Why choose it

The Grand Spa1 is free for hotel guests: an indoor pool, whirlpool, Finnish sauna, steam room and relaxation area. There is also an experience shower and icefall2.

The Longevity Spa pool beneath Portrait Milano’s vaults.

Portrait Milano

Someone setting aside time for a course of treatments.

The trade-off

Without a room, you need to book an experience lasting at least 80 minutes4.

Why choose it

The Longevity Spa occupies the vaulted rooms of the former Archbishop’s Seminary. The pool4 sits between 10 granite columns, with a sauna, steam room and relaxation area around it. The gym uses the Technogym Biostrength circuit.

The Gallia’s indoor pool beneath its octagonal skylights.

Excelsior Hotel Gallia

A pause in the water between one journey and the next.

The trade-off

For the Duomo and Brera I would allow for the metro.

Why choose it

The Shiseido spa7 occupies the sixth and seventh floors. The pool, whirlpool and gym are included for hotel guests6, as are the sauna and steam room during spa hours.

With children

  • At the Gallia8, children under 16 can use the pool and whirlpool when staying at the hotel, with an adult. The sauna, steam room, relaxation areas and gym are closed to under-18s.

  • At Portrait4, Family Time runs from noon to 3pm.

Before booking a treatment

At the Gallia8, I would book a time and arrive at least 15 minutes early, as the spa asks.

For privacy, Palazzo Parigi3 hires out the Royal Hammam Privée separately: about 100 m² with a 6 × 2-metre pool and steam baths. It takes up to 4 people, treatments excluded; the price is on request.
