A table at Silver
At Silver, I would settle in for the chef’s cooking, with 2 Michelin stars and 18 GaultMillau points. Dinner runs Thursday–Sunday from 6.30pm.12
The mountains reflect in the water beyond the thermal baths’ dark stone walls.
I would come here for a soak followed by a light-filled room facing the mountains. On Mondays, the hotel and all restaurants close at 12pm: I would plan the stay around that.
Book direct The hotel websiteFor 2, the Spa Deluxe bathtub gives me a reason to spend part of the evening in the room.

Your choices and answer, ready when you come back.

On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the night session runs from 11pm to 1am. I would choose one of these evenings to return to the water after dinner.
Sunday lunch at Silver starts at 1pm. Booking the CHF 290-per-person menu and CHF 175 drinks pairing includes a one-way limousine transfer within 50 km for 2 or more guests.
Penthouse stays include a helicopter or limousine transfer within Switzerland. For the helicopter, the return transfer is to and from the nearest landing field and depends on the weather.
For the baths’ anniversary on 11 December 2026, the package starts at CHF 2,380 for 2 nights and 2 people. Arrivals are on 10 or 11 December; it includes a presentation by Peter Zumthor, the concert and 4 courses at Red.
Lumina Guide 2027
We choose the hotels of this guide ourselves, one at a time: no one pays to be in it.
How we choose the hotelsWhat do 7132 Hotel’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. One guest watches the mountains change with the light from the room; another finds little to do nearby and gets bored.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. One guest remembers fresh flowers and a handwritten note after an upgrade to Spa Suite. Another describes a very clean room controlled by iPad, without identifying the category.
A family remembers the welcome during 4 Christmas nights in a 5-star Spa Suite. A solo traveller instead describes 2 visits to the bar without being served.
One guest especially appreciates the in-house bakery. Another remembers eggs Benedict made on wholegrain bread at their request.
One guest finds the bill justifiable only at a favourable room rate. A restaurant visitor, without an overnight stay, finds the club sandwich overpriced.
| What | Guests’ score | Guests who mention it | Happy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Location | 8.4 | 30 | 87% |
| Room | 7.7 | 23 | 83% |
| Staff and service | 8.1 | 65 | 75% |
| Breakfast | 7.9 | 8 | 88% |
| Price | – | 17 | 41% |
83 guests said so on Google, from 31 October 2024 to 19 October 2026. Includes meals and other visits without an overnight stay. The other hotels are assessed on the same 5 themes. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
The hotels we weigh it against in Vals:

By train, travel through Chur to Ilanz, then take the Postbus to Vals Therme. The final 20 km from Ilanz climb into the valley. Private limousine transfers from airports and stations are also available.1
For 5-star hotel guests, Silver serves a separate breakfast each morning, with à la carte dishes. I would start the day at this table before heading out.
The baths open to hotel guests from 7am; non-residents enter from 11am. I would make use of the morning before the day visitors arrive.
The Valser Hot Stone Massage uses valley quartzite stones for a full-body massage, preceded by body brushing. It lasts 90 minutes and costs CHF 250.
The bar team make cocktails and snacks in the lobby. A negroni here feels like a good way to move from bathing to dinner.
At Red, the chef serves branzino and Crêpe Suzette flambéed at the table. Dinner runs Wednesday–Sunday, 6.30pm–10.30pm. I would finish with the crêpes.
The Google listing also includes visits to the baths and restaurants. Explicit House of Architects stays are separated; many other accounts do not identify the building or room category. Dates are publication dates.
A regular guest describes returning for almost 20 years and still not being recognised. In the same account, they praise the lobby and service.
After dinner at Silver, one guest remembers a gift of a tin of stroopwafels. The account comes from a 3-night stay in the main building.
