For couples, a Treehouse in the canopy takes 2 adults and 1 child from age 10; families with younger children have the Cliff Villa, for 2 adults and 2 children under 12; Google’s lowest seller showed one night taken alone, for 2 adults, from MXN 25,243. Like a regular

The domed Temazcal with a fire at its entrance and surrounding forest
  1. A Treehouse facing the Pacific

For 2, I would ask for a Panoramic Ocean Treehouse, which the official page sets high above the canopy, looking across the Pacific; every Treehouse keeps 79 m² indoors, a plunge pool and an open-air tub.

  2. The July week to compare

One night taken alone between 16 and 22 July 2027 showed MXN 26,277–28,243 on 16 October 2026, against MXN 164,184 on 29 December 2026. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller asked MXN 38,389 a night.

  3. What a pet adds

Pets under 50 lb are accepted, never in a Treehouse; the resort charges USD 100 per pet per day to the villa account, plus a USD 3,000 pet deposit for stays in the Private Homes.

  4. The Treetop after 5pm

The Treetop, the cocktail bar in the canopy, serves drinks and a snack menu from 5pm to 11pm to adults over 18 only; the dress code asks for shirts with sleeves and no flip-flops.

What One&Only Mandarina is

The Treehouses are approached among the canopy: 79 m² indoors and 28 m² outdoors, with a private pool and outlooks ranging from forest to Pacific horizon. Cliff Villas also welcome younger children; Banderas, Pacifico and the private residences give extended families and groups more room.

A day can start with chilaquiles at Alma, continue at Jetty’s bay and end with Mexican coastal cooking at Carao. The Treetop brings the bar into the trees. Breakfast and some activities appear in the standard inclusions; lunches, dinners and treatments need their own budget.

Book the spa before arrival. Treatments, Temazcal and water facilities can fill an afternoon; the current page lists closing at 18:00. The setting rewards staying put, rather than using the resort simply as a base for evenings out.

The slopes are part of the decision. In 2026 accounts, some visitors relish seclusion and nature, while others report buggy waits and insects indoors. If you want every facility close together and consistently walkable, the spread of the villas may frustrate you. November–May is the drier period identified by the hotel’s guide.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 23 June 2023 to 14 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay on the Riviera Nayarit coast: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 17 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

Good to know before you book

  • The villas follow forested slopes. Internal journeys can need a buggy; some 2026 reviews describe waits. Leave time between your room, the beach and appointments.

  • Children under 10 cannot stay in Treehouses. The terms require a parent’s waiver on arrival for children aged 10–18. For 2 adults and 2 children under 12, a Cliff Villa has a king bed and queen sofabed; its private plunge pool needs supervision.

  • The booking terms quote room rates in USD per room, per night, with 21% Sales and Occupancy Tax and 15% Service Charge added. Do not apply those percentages to the Google calendar as though its tax basis were known. The resort is cashless and requires a credit card for settlement; check the total and inclusions on your booking confirmation.

  • The hotel’s travel guide describes November–May as the drier, sunnier period, with humpback whales offshore December–March. Summer brings greener forest, warmer water and larger surf. Choose November–May for a trip centred on beach and outdoor dining; weather and sea conditions remain variable.

  • The official policy accepts pets weighing less than 50 lb for USD 100 per pet, per day, in villas; Treehouses exclude pets. Keep the dog on a lead and never unattended. Pets may use the beach but cannot enter restaurants, spa, fitness or pool areas, cabanas or daybeds, except guide/service animals; private homes require a USD 3,000 deposit.

  • The official terms explicitly say the resort is not fully accessible and has 1 accessible villa with supportive features. Assistance is available for selected restaurants and the spa. Confirm the exact villa, vehicle access and routes to each facility before booking; a step-free route throughout the grounds is not established.
