The St. Regis suits a honeymoon or an anniversary spent on the motu: a butler for every villa, bicycles to cross it, a lagoon of fish to snorkel in and, in mid-November 2026, one night taken alone from $966. Anyone who wants breakfast and the airport boat inside the rate, or a resort small enough to cross on foot, will be happier elsewhere.

Like a regular

The 727 Bar deck at sunset, white armchairs facing the lagoon and Mount Otemanu
  1. The villa to ask for

For the mountain, an Overwater Deluxe Otemanu: 144 m², like the Superior, listed with a lagoon view, and the Deluxe, with an island view. With children, 2 returning guests took villas with 2 bedrooms.

  2. The weeks that cost less

In the calendar read on 13 October 2026, the 3 lowest nights in a row, each taken alone, are 12 to 14 November 2026: $966 to $1,121; the 7 from 15 November, $1,446 to $1,848. From 25 to 31 December, $2,926 to $4,978.

  3. On top of the rate

Breakfast at Te Pahu, unless the rate includes it, and the shared boat from the airport are paid for. One sailing a day to Vaitape is free, except on Sundays and public holidays, booked with the concierge; any other costs XPF 3,600 a person return.

  4. Morning coffee, at the villa

Ask the butler for coffee brought to the villa, and fix the hour. Of the 15 guests who write of the coffee service since June 2022, 4 call it free and 6 say they ordered it or agreed a time.

What the St. Regis is

The resort opened in May 2006 on Motu Ome’e, a private islet across the lagoon from the main island (Hotels for Kings). The MICHELIN Guide counts 90 rooms and gives it 2 Keys, which the hotel’s awards page dates to 2025; Forbes Travel Guide rates it 4-Star. The overview puts the grounds at 17 hectares, a press release of October 2025 at 44 acres, nearer 18.

Where you sleep decides the stay. The 3 entry overwater categories, Superior, Deluxe and Deluxe Otemanu, measure 144 m² and have a deck but no pool; the Premier Otemanu, 177 m², adds a whirlpool for 3; the 2 Overwater Royal villas, 260 and 321 m², have a 24 m² plunge pool (rooms). On land, the Beachside, the Reef side villas and the Royal Estate all have a pool of their own. Only the categories named after Otemanu promise the mountain.

The rate leaves a good deal out. Breakfast at Te Pahu is paid for, and the shared boat from the airport is charged too (overview). The butler, bicycles, masks, kayaks and paddleboards are included. On Google Hotels, on 13 October 2026, the cheapest night searched alone was $796 (6 November 2026) and the dearest $4,978 (25 December); booked as 7 nights from 16 November, the lowest seller Google listed asked $2,150 a night. At Four Seasons Bora Bora, 1.8 km away as the crow flies, the cheapest night searched alone in the same reading was $1,790, with breakfast and the airport boat in the rate (Four Seasons).

We read the 500 most recent Google reviews with text, written between May 2018 and 1 October 2026, out of the 871 on the listing; beside them, the scores on Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Expedia and the MICHELIN Guide, and the resort’s own pages. The butler comes up in 134 reviews, averaging 4.8 stars; honeymoons in 54, averaging 4.9. Guests also keep returning to the bicycles that come with every villa, the Lagoonarium and breakfast brought by canoe to the deck.

In the Lumina Guide

At the St. Regis the overwater villas start at 144 m² facing Otemanu, each with a butler and bicycles, and pontoons lead down into the Lagoonarium, among coral and Napoleon fish.

How we choose the hotels

Those who come back

Among the St. Regis’s regulars, 13 of 14 praise the staff or the service: 2 name the same member of the butler team, assigned to one of them on both stays, and a guest who wrote in January 2025 thanks one member of staff for 3 stays, in 2016, 2018 and 2019. They notice what changes: one, writing in October 2025, finds rooms improved and amenities updated. And 3 came back with children, one of them 15 years after a first stay: that family, writing in April 2026, went over to the main island for dinner in the evening.

  • 14 of the 487 reviews of more than a line say it is not a first stay
  • A second stay for 9; one guest counts 3, from 2016 to 2019
  • One came back after 15 years, one 10 years after the honeymoon

The 5 things that matter look at the 500 most recent reviews with text; here, the 487 of more than a line, written from August 2012 to October 2026.

Our reading, point by point

What makes it rare

A badge is an experience travellers look for, that is really here and that few hotels in the guide have.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do St. Regis Bora Bora’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The resort sits on a motu, between the turquoise lagoon and Otemanu across the water: guests write about the mountain seen from the villa on waking and at sunset.

  2. Room

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write about very large overwater villas, with a glass panel in the floor for watching the fish and a deck that leads straight down into the lagoon.

  3. Staff and service

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The butler books dinners and excursions, and guests often remember theirs by name, along with the Polynesian staff; the bicycles that come with every villa are a favourite too.

  4. Breakfast

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is a buffet at Te Pahu, from 6:30am to 10:30am: guests write of the wide choice and, above all, of the one brought by canoe to the villa.

  5. Price

The rate covers the butler, bicycles, masks, kayaks and paddleboards; breakfast, where it is not included, and the airport boat cost extra.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 31 May 2018 to 1 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Bora Bora: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 1 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

On 13 October 2026 Google showed one night for 2, taken alone, from $966 in mid-November 2026 and from $1,148 between 10 January and the end of March, never under $2,075 from April 2027 and never under $2,149 from 21 December to 9 January; booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller asked $2,150 a night and the resort’s own listing $2,152, where the calendar had $1,446 to $1,848 for those nights. For a lower price I would look at November, or at 10 January to the end of March, both in the wet season, and ask what the whole stay costs before booking.

Questions before you go

How much is a night at the St. Regis Bora Bora?

On Google Hotels, read on 13 October 2026 for 2 adults, each night searched alone, the cheapest night to 6 September 2027 was $796 (6 November 2026, between nights at $1,601 and $1,770) and the dearest $4,978 (25 December 2026). Other nights: $2,026 on 17 October, $1,001 on 12 November, $1,200 on 12 December, $3,490 on 24 December, $4,956 on 28 December and $4,135 on 31 December 2026; $1,200 on 25 January, $1,148 on 6 March, $2,675 on 20 April, $3,050 on 24 June, $3,807 on 26 July and $2,608 on 29 July 2027.

Between November and March the monthly medians run from about $1,622 (November) to $2,192 (March); between April and July 2027, as the dry season sets in, from about $2,807 (June) to $3,068 (July). Each figure is the cheapest category Google holds for that night searched alone, and Google does not say whether taxes are in it. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller Google listed that day asked $2,150 a night and the resort’s own listing $2,152, where the calendar had $1,446 to $1,848 for the same nights taken one at a time.

The resort bills in Pacific francs (XPF), fixed at 119.33 to the euro (Tahiti Tourisme). For the 2025–26 festive season its own release started at $1,900 a night in an Overwater Superior (PRWeb).

What does the rate include, and what is extra?

The butler, available 24 hours a day in every category, is included: drinks on arrival and each morning, unpacking and packing, 2 garments pressed a person a day (rooms); Google lists it as free. So are bicycles, snorkelling gear and the non-motorised watersports at the Main Beach: paddleboards, kayaks and Polynesian canoes (experiences).

Breakfast at Te Pahu is extra unless the rate includes it (dining), and so is the shared boat from the airport. A law of 9 December 2025 reformed the tourist tax, and the communes have until 31 October 2026 to adopt it, with its rates, for stays from 1 January 2027 (tax office). No page we read publishes a resort fee, VAT or service charge: Marriott’s rate list prints, for every villa, a figure with taxes and all fees included, without itemising it. A Tripadvisor thread from around 2017 quotes 4% service, 5% tourist tax and 5% VAT; it is too old to rely on.

Is it all-inclusive? Are there meal plans?

No. The standard rate includes no meals and no all-inclusive plan is listed. A March 2026 guide describes 3 plans, each for at least 4 nights and with drinks excluded: breakfast; half board, with a 3-course dinner; full board, adding a 2-course lunch at Aparima. At Lagoon, it adds, half and full board carry a supplement of XPF 2,500 a person per visit (Salty Vagabonds). The official pages mention full board only for the festive season, and an offer for Marriott Bonvoy Silver members and above with breakfast for 2 and XPF 10,000 of resort credit a day, for at least 4 nights (overview).

How do you get there from Papeete, and how do you book the boat?

You land at Faa’a, French Polynesia’s only international airport, and take Air Tahiti from the domestic terminal in the same building to Bora Bora, about 50 minutes (Salty Vagabonds); Air Tahiti advertises fares from XPF 40,246 return, taxes included (Air Tahiti). At the airport on Motu Mute the resort’s greeter waits at the St. Regis desk, and the shared boat takes 20 minutes (overview).

The boat is paid for and has to be reserved (overview): ask the resort for the price when you book it. Private transfers exist too, according to a March 2026 guide (Salty Vagabonds).

How does it differ from the Four Seasons Bora Bora?

The 2 resorts are 1.8 km apart as the crow flies, both on the motus facing Otemanu. The St. Regis’s overwater villas start at 144 m² (rooms), the Four Seasons bungalows at 100 m² (Four Seasons). The Four Seasons includes breakfast and the airport boat in its rate, which the St. Regis charges for; it runs a kids’ club for ages 5 to 12 (families), while the St. Regis offers a list of babysitters. Its boat from the airport takes 15 minutes, the St. Regis’s 20.

On Google Hotels, read on 13 October 2026, the cheapest night searched alone was $796 (6 November 2026) at the St. Regis and $1,790 (11 January 2027) at the Four Seasons. The gap narrows once breakfast and the airport boat, which the St. Regis charges for, are added to its rate.

Which overwater villas have a private pool?

The Overwater Superior, Deluxe and Deluxe Otemanu have no pool or whirlpool; the Overwater Premier Otemanu has a whirlpool on the deck that seats 3; the 2 Overwater Royal villas, with one bedroom (260 m²) or 2 (321 m²), have a 24 m² plunge pool (overwater villas). On land every villa has its own: 12 m² for the Reef side Garden and the Beachside, 30 m² for the Reef side Royal Garden, 57 m² for the Royal Estate (rooms). The overwater villas have glass panels in the floor.

Which villas look at Mount Otemanu?

Among the overwater villas, those named after it: the Deluxe Otemanu and the Premier Otemanu; the Superior has a lagoon view, the Deluxe an island view (rooms). The resort’s photographs of the Overwater Royal villas also show the mountain.

What kind of hotel is it, and how many rooms does it have?

A St. Regis, a Marriott Bonvoy brand, opened in May 2006 on Motu Ome’e according to Hotels for Kings; the official pages we read give no date. It has 90 rooms according to the MICHELIN Guide, Expedia and a 2025 press release, in 10 categories from the overwater villas to the 3-bedroom Royal Estate, on grounds of 17 hectares by the overview’s count, 44 acres by the release’s.

It holds 2 MICHELIN Keys, awarded in 2025, and Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best 2026 (awards). Forbes Travel Guide rates it 4-Star, while the overview and Expedia call it 5-star: they are different systems. Google shows no star class.

What are the restaurants, and when are they open?

3 restaurants serve dinner from 5:30pm to 9:30pm: Lagoon, over the water, closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays; Bamboo, Pan-Asian, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; Farniente, Italian, open Tuesday to Saturday (dining). Te Pahu serves breakfast from 6:30am to 10:30am and on Wednesdays holds Polynesian Night, dinner and a show from 6:30pm. Aparima Bar serves lunch and snacks from 11am to 9:30pm, with a grill night on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (guest portal); the 727 Bar pours from 5:30pm to 10pm, closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. In-room dining runs 24 hours, and dinner should be booked.

The resort itself counts 4 restaurants and 2 bars, while the overview’s list of amenities and Booking.com say 5: the difference is Aparima, a bar that serves meals. A March 2026 guide puts a fine-dining dinner at XPF 11,000 to 18,000 a person (Salty Vagabonds).

Is Lagoon still a Jean-Georges restaurant?

Not by the resort’s own pages. Its dining page, its guest portal and an April 2026 post name it plain Lagoon Restaurant, with its own executive chef. OpenTable and a March 2026 guide still call it «Lagoon Restaurant by Jean-Georges», and the resort’s overview captions a photograph the same way; the Jean-Georges group, which lists 45 restaurants in 13 countries, has none in French Polynesia. No announcement of an end date was found: the departure of the name is our inference, and nobody has confirmed it.

What is the spa like, and what do treatments cost?

The St. Regis Spa has a private islet of its own beside the Lagoonarium, with a beach facing Otemanu: 5 indoor treatment rooms, an outdoor pavilion, a balneotherapy room, a Jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna, a lounge over the lagoon and separate lounges for men and women (spa). Its own list of services names the steam room and the therapy bath but no sauna or Jacuzzi.

In the spa’s booking menu the Polynesian Taurumi, Relaxation, Re-Energize, Stress-Relief and Warm-Candle massages cost XPF 26,500 for 60 minutes and XPF 34,000 for 90, about €222 and €285; the Balinese Puai and Performance massages XPF 27,500 and 35,000; 15-minute foot, scalp and hair add-ons XPF 6,500 (spa menu). Is the spa included, and is there a day pass?

Treatments are paid for, and no official page says that the steam room, sauna or Jacuzzi are included in the room rate. The overview adds that «all spa bookings require a day pass», without saying whether that applies to resort guests (overview).

Visitors can buy one. A March 2026 guide prices the resort’s day pass at XPF 22,000 a person, with the boat from the base on the main island, a 2-course lunch at Aparima, the beach, the Lagoonarium, the main pool and the non-motorised watersports, drinks extra; the spa day pass costs XPF 43,000 with a 60-minute treatment (Salty Vagabonds). The official pages print neither price. The spa page says online booking is unavailable, yet its «Reserve Now» button opens an online menu that takes bookings.

Booking.com charges guests from 13 as adults and an extra bed from 12 at XPF 25,300 a night; Expedia gives XPF 29,070.

There is no kids’ club to count on. Booking.com lists one and an official photograph is captioned «Manava Children’s Club», but a guest who stayed in 2025 writes that it was removed, as the front desk confirmed (Food.Wada.Travel). The concierge keeps a list of babysitters, the Main Pool is open to children, and according to a 2026 guide children up to 6 eat free from the children’s menu and those from 7 to 12 pay half price (Salty Vagabonds).

Can you get married at the St. Regis Bora Bora?

Booking.com says that dinners on 24 and 31 December are compulsory; the official page does not.

When is the best time to go? Is the resort open all year?

The dry season runs from mid-April to October, at 24 to 27 °C on Tahiti (French Bee); November to April is the wet season and the cyclone season (Smartraveller), though Tahiti is rarely hit. Is the Wi-Fi free? How do you pay and tip?

The rooms page says standard internet is free for every guest; the overview’s FAQ and list of amenities say free for Marriott Bonvoy members who book direct.
