Paris palaces with a dog: the room, the fee and where it can go

Among Paris palace hotels that take dogs, I would start with Shangri-La: your dog can join you at the bar in its bag. Before choosing among these 10 grand hotels in the guide, weigh it: a few kilos change the shortlist, and dining rules change the evening.

Chosen your hotel? Everything you need to go

Where I would start

Start with Shangri-La for time together, then choose by your dog’s size and your evening plans.

Shangri-La Paris

Shangri-La Paris

I would start here if you want your dog beside you at the bar.

The trade-off

It must travel in a bag at the bar and restaurants; the spa is off limits.

Why choose it

The policy1 accepts one pet up to 10 kg per room, with no extra fee; a bowl and basket are provided. In shared areas it must stay on a short lead and be supervised at all times. Have the dog and its weight recorded in the room confirmation.

Le Bristol Paris

Le Bristol Paris

For a small dog with its own welcome kit waiting in the room.

The trade-off

You will need another arrangement for dinner at Epicure, which does not accept pets.

Why choose it

The FAQ2 accepts pets up to 7 kg and charges €100 per day per animal; the rooms page3 gives the same amount per night. Confirm the charging basis for your stay. Ask about 114 Faubourg5, the other dining rooms, the spa and leaving the dog alone in the room when you request your quote.

Le Meurice

Le Meurice

I would consider it for a meal at Le Dalí with your dog beside the table.

The trade-off

With your dog, rule out Bar 228, the spa and dinner at Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse.

Why choose it

The FAQ6 allows up to 2 dogs under 7 kg per room. The pet policy7 charges €40 per day per animal and includes a bed, bowl and toys. A lead or carrier is required in shared areas. At Le Dalí and the Galerie the dog stays in a bag or basket, or at the foot of the table for larger dogs; declare it when booking the table. Ask first for a dog of 7 kg or more: the FAQ sets a lower limit even though the pet policy refers to larger dogs.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

For an owner happy to eat with the dog at La Galerie.

The trade-off

With the dog, rule out Le Relais Plaza, the gastronomic restaurant, La Cour Jardin, La Terrasse Montaigne, the bar and Dior Spa.

Why choose it

The FAQ8 accepts up to 2 dogs under 7 kg per room. The pet policy9 charges €40 per day per animal, with a bed, bowl and toys. They must be on a lead or in a carrier in shared areas. At La Galerie they stay in a bag or basket, or at the foot of the table for larger dogs; declare them when booking. That reference to larger dogs does not establish a higher weight limit than the FAQ: confirm your dog’s size.

The Peninsula Paris

The Peninsula Paris

For a drink at Le Bar Kléber with your dog.

The trade-off

Pets cannot enter the spa; ask for the fee and each restaurant’s policy before booking.

Why choose it

The rule for staying guests10 permits one dog per person up to 7 kg. Le Bar Kléber11 gives the same condition, while the spa12 excludes pets. Have the room category, any dog charge and whether it can remain alone when you go out included in the quote.

La Réserve Paris

La Réserve Paris

For an owner who wants a clear room limit before booking.

The trade-off

Le Gabriel does not accept pets, so that dinner needs another arrangement for your dog.

Why choose it

The terms of sale13 permit one dog up to 10 kg per room, at €50 per night per dog. Ask which other rooms and dining areas it can enter, which bedroom you will receive and whether the dog may stay there alone. Confirm access to the other spaces alongside the room.

Hôtel de Crillon

Hôtel de Crillon

I would consider it for a longer visit: the pet charge is per stay.

The trade-off

Pets cannot enter Sense, A Rosewood Spa.

Why choose it

The policy15 welcomes pets up to 10 kg in the rooms for €150 per stay. It also accepts them in the hotel, with the spa exception. Confirm the number of dogs, the bedroom and the table you want before travelling, as well as whether they may be left alone.

Four Seasons Hotel George V

Four Seasons Hotel George V

For a dog just over the weight limits of most hotels in this comparison.

The trade-off

The card hold for cleaning changes between a room and a suite; ask how it will be settled.

Why choose it

The pet policy16 accepts small and medium-sized pets up to 11 kg. On arrival it takes an additional pre-authorisation of €250 per room or €520 per suite to cover deep cleaning on departure; carpet damage may bring further charges. A pre-authorisation is a card hold: confirm the final charge, permitted areas and whether the dog may remain in the room.

Ritz Paris

Ritz Paris

For a very small dog and a table at Bar Vendôme.

The trade-off

You need written approval before arrival; no pets at Espadon or Ritz Club & Spa.

Why choose it

The terms17 permit, with prior approval, one dog under 6 kg per room at €50 a night. They exclude dogs in French categories 1 and 2 and require a lead in shared areas. The dog must not be left alone in the room or unattended when its owner is away from the hotel. Bar Vendôme18 accepts small pets below the same weight limit; Espadon19 refuses them. Arrange care before planning a dinner without your dog.

Cheval Blanc Paris

Cheval Blanc Paris

For an owner willing to confirm the arrangements before choosing a room.

The trade-off

Get the hotel’s agreement for your pet, its weight, the fee and permitted areas before paying.

Why choose it

The group terms20 leave pet acceptance to each hotel, so obtain Paris’s specific agreement. Unless the hotel states otherwise, they exclude dining areas, the spa, fitness centre and pool, require a lead in shared areas and prohibit leaving the pet alone in the room or unattended when its owner goes outside the hotel. Agree the weight, fee and room for your stay.

Hotel policies checked on 5 November 2026. Pet charges are additional to accommodation; a pre-authorisation is a card hold.

Before the room, plan dinner

A dog-friendly bedroom is only the first step.

  • Send the weight of the dog travelling with you, the number of pets, room category and dates, and ask for written confirmation.

  • Book the table alongside the bedroom: establish where your dog can join you and who will care for it while you eat elsewhere before paying.

What I would ask before paying

Get the room and dog confirmed together.

“I am travelling with a dog weighing … kg. Please confirm the room, total pet charge for these dates, where we can eat together and whether it may stay alone in the room.” Mention a second pet if bringing one: a per-person allowance can differ from a per-room limit.

Ask for the specific rule for an assistance dog: Le Meurice7 and Plaza Athénée9 exempt assistance dogs from their pet restrictions. Agree the arrangements directly at the other hotels.

Before travelling with your dog

Questions that change the booking.

Can I book any room?

Have the room category approved alongside the dog. A per-room pet limit does not confirm that your chosen room is available for your stay.

Can the dog stay in the room while I go to dinner?

Ask explicitly, stating whether you will remain inside the hotel or go out. If it is not permitted, arrange care before booking the table.

Can I bring a dog above the stated weight limit?

Only with the hotel’s agreement for your dog. Seeing other dogs, or a reference to larger pets in a restaurant policy, does not by itself change the room’s weight limit.
