Luxury hotels in Barcelona

For luxury hotels in Barcelona, I would first decide how much beach belongs in the day.

The hotels

Barcelona

El Palace Barcelona

I’d come for a few days of grand-hotel life: breakfast at El Jardín, an afternoon in a suite and a Grand Hall cocktail. If every day should begin with your feet in sand, the waterfront offers a better base.

Barcelona

The Barcelona EDITION

I’d choose it for walks through El Born and the Gothic Quarter, returning for a Punch Room cocktail. If you would rather spend half the day at a spa with an indoor pool, I’d look elsewhere, such as Mandarin Oriental.

Which to choose

Mandarin Oriental combines the Eixample with a spa; at EDITION, I would head out into the old town. On the waterfront, renovation work belongs in the decision. The sea matters even when you never get in. For days spent walking the old town, I would begin with EDITION; for returning to an open view, with the 2 waterfront towers.

Before booking

What would I ask before confirming the room?

At Mandarin Oriental2, have the Deluxe Boulevard balcony confirmed: only some rooms have one. At EDITION5, request a Loft if you want a bath as well. At W10, ask for a renovated Superior Sky and which works will be audible from the room. At Arts13, confirm which pools open during your dates: they are described as summer pools, and Arts Wellness’s sauna and steam room are suspended. At El Palace7, consider the Three-Bedroom Family Suite for grandparents and children: it accommodates up to 7, with the arrangement confirmed for their ages.

How much is a night in Barcelona?

For 14 December 2026, a night for 2 starts at €323 at El Palace14, €336 at EDITION15, €369 at Arts18, €382 at W17 and €808 at Mandarin Oriental16. On 7 March 2027, EDITION costs €360 and El Palace €361; on 14 June 2027, Mandarin Oriental costs €1,021. These are seller minima for individual nights searched on their own, potentially with different rooms and terms; confirm meals, taxes and cancellation on the offer you select. The readings come from different dates, so I would not use them to crown a cheapest hotel. Prices from Google Hotels, 5 November 2026 for El Palace, EDITION and Mandarin Oriental, 1 November 2026 for W, 17 October 2026 for Arts.

Where would I go for an indoor swim?

At Mandarin Oriental1, the indoor pool opens from 8am to 8pm. Before choosing a treatment, ask which facilities and hours your booking includes.
