I would ask for the Deluxe Beach Villa: 46.5 m², floor-to-ceiling glass and beanbags facing the reef break for watching surfers. A returning guest writing in March 2025 chose it and praised the space.
From 20 to 26 May 2027, the calendar shows $421–$443 for one night taken alone; 31 December 2026 shows $1,835. Both come from the reading of 12 October 2026.
Sunset fishing costs $85 per person, with children aged 3–12 charged 50%. À la carte dining is charged to all guests, so I would budget for those meals separately.
The resort lists one complimentary sunset or dolphin cruise for a stay of 5 nights, and 2 for 6 nights or more. I would choose the length of stay with that extra outing in mind.
The island used to be called Lohifushi and has held a resort since 1979 (Ministry of Tourism register); the Aitken Spence group runs it under the Adaaran name (offer terms). A lap of the island measures 2.1 km on OpenStreetMap, half an hour on foot, and along its east side runs the Lohis break, a left the resort counts among the best in the world (official site).
The 192 villas come in 10 types: 46 Beach Villas, 35 Deluxe Beach Villas, 20 Garden Villas, 18 Lohis Villas beside the wave and 40 over the water, facing the sunrise or the sunset (villas). They run from 41.25 to 81.9 m²; the Garden Villa’s size is not published.
Meals are buffets at the Banyan and the Indian Pavilion, lunch and dinner from 12.30 and 7.30pm; the Sunset Restaurant, over the water, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner only to water-villa guests, and à la carte, at a charge, to everyone (Sunset Restaurant). The Hiyala Bar is open round the clock (Premium All-Inclusive).

At Hudhuranfushi the Lohis left-hander runs along the island’s east side: it is an all-inclusive of 192 villas, 25 minutes by speedboat from Malé, with a channel reef for those who do not surf.
How we choose the hotelsAmong Hudhuranfushi’s regulars, one guest writing in April 2025 says the staff are the sole reason for returning. A guest writing in June 2026 describes being recognised by some staff and warmly welcomed on a second visit. Another, writing in May 2026 after several stays, notices more eateries in the all-inclusive plan and some redecorated villas. A guest on an eighth visit, writing in August 2025, describes children enjoying the pool and activities while adults make use of the included activities and bar.

A left that runs along one side of the island, with 6 other waves a short boat ride away (surf). Surfing needs a pass, sold only with surf agents’ packages, and surfers are capped at 45 a day; dhoni trips to the other waves leave twice daily, and an intermediate level at least is required.
The house reef slopes into a channel down to 35 metres, with turtles, whitetip sharks and eagle rays; the current can be strong and the dive centre advises checking the tides each day (house reef). From December to April mantas gather at Manta Point.
Over the water, facing the harbour: international cooking with Indian, Chinese and Arabic dishes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are for water-villa guests; the à la carte menu, from 11am to 11pm, is open to all but charged (Sunset Restaurant).
