I would ask for a Riverfront Premier: on the fifth to the tenth floors, every one looks out to the river from its balcony. A guest on a second stay, writing in April 2026, watched the sunset over the Chao Phraya from the bed.

From 9 to 15 July 2027 single nights ranged from THB 29,494 to THB 30,484 for 2 adults on Google, read on 16 October 2026. The dearest night shown, 28 December 2026, was THB 65,368.

What Capella Bangkok is
Capella Bangkok opened in 2020, the group’s first hotel in Thailand, on Charoen Krung, which the hotel’s own page calls Bangkok’s first paved road, built by order of King Rama IV in 1861. Its 101 rooms, suites and villas stand in a low building on the river, next door to the Four Seasons. The MICHELIN Guide gives it Three Keys; The 50 Best Hotels put it first in 2024 and second in 2026, as the fact sheet and the home page record.
People choose it for the rooms and the table. The smallest room measures 61 m² and has a balcony; on the 3rd floor the Verandah rooms and suites have a terrace with a sala and a jacuzzi plunge pool facing the river, and the 7 villas open onto gardens at the water’s edge. Côte by Mauro Colagreco holds 2 MICHELIN stars and opens Wednesday to Sunday; Phra Nakhon, a glass room in the garden, serves Thai cooking from breakfast to 11pm. Every stay has a Culturist, who plans the city, and the Living Room, where guests check in and meet for the evening aperitif.
The city is a boat ride or a taxi away. The free shuttle boat goes to ICONSIAM and to Sathorn Pier, beside Saphan Taksin Skytrain station, and a guest wrote in September 2026 that it runs once an hour; the Grand Palace is 7 km by road. On Google Hotels, read on 16 October 2026, a night for 2 cost from THB 29,369 in April 2027 to THB 65,368 on 28 December 2026, service charge and VAT included. Many guests who write about the price find it high, and most of those who write about it count it well spent on the food and the service.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them
What do Capella Bangkok’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
Location
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of the quiet on the river and the balconies over the Chao Phraya; for the sights it is a Grab, easy to get according to one guest in September 2026, or the hotel boat to ICONSIAM and the Skytrain, which the same guest says runs once an hour.
Room
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of spacious rooms with big windows on the river, a balcony and a large bath; one guest, in April 2026, says they feel like private apartments, and another, in October 2026, advises a higher floor for the view and for privacy.
Staff and service
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests name the Culturists who look after them before and during the stay, the check-in in the Living Room over a drink, the birthday surprises and the evening aperitif on the river.
Breakfast
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is at Phra Nakhon, on the river, from a buffet and a menu; one guest, in September 2026, remembers the mango sticky rice, another, in April 2026, the Japanese and Korean dishes beside the Thai ones.
Price
6 in 10 guests who mention the price find it fair. Many who write about the price find it high: the happy ones point to what it buys, from the free minibar to the evening aperitif, and to the food and the service; others set it against the hotel’s world rankings, and one, in December 2025, describes minibar snacks billed at THB 2,730.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 25 July 2025 to 16 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Bangkok: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 16 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
Price: for two on the night of 21 April 2027, from 29,369 THB (seen on Google Hotels on 16 October 2026).

Good to know before you book
Rates are quoted before a 10% service charge and 7% VAT, as the accommodation page says, and so are the Tea Lounge’s prices. The nightly prices Google Hotels shows in Thailand already include both: for the night of 17 October 2026, read on 16 October, the hotel’s own listing on Google Hotels showed THB 50,022.
Not every room looks at the river. The Riverfront rooms on the 1st, 2nd and 4th floors face the river or the pool, and the Courtyard Suites face the pool; for the river from every window, the Riverfront Premier rooms are on floors 5 to 10. Guests in rooms by the pool wrote, in April 2025 and September 2026, that people at the pool could see in.
New Year has its own rules. The hotel’s package runs 4 nights between 28 December 2026 and 3 January 2027 and forbids check-out on 31 December; Booking.com adds a gala dinner at THB 33,000 an adult, compulsory for anyone staying that night, and full prepayment, not refundable, from 21 December to 5 January.
The hotel arranges a limousine with fast track at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang, booked 24 hours ahead, at a price it does not publish; a Villa or the Presidential Villa includes the return trip. The free boat goes only to ICONSIAM and Sathorn Pier.
Breakfast comes with the suites and villas, for 2, 3 or 4 people according to the room’s page. The Riverfront and Verandah pages do not list it, and Google Hotels shows it as an extra; the Weekday & Weekend Getaway rate includes it for 2.

One dog of up to 10 kg is allowed per room, never left alone in it, says the room policy. Dogs stay out of the pool, Auriga Wellness and the restaurants, except Phra Nakhon. The official site gives no fee.
A deposit of THB 10,000 is taken by card on arrival and refunded at check-out, according to Booking.com.
