I would come to Rosewood Phuket with children, for days that move between pool and gardens without planning every hour outside. Pavilions keep the stay compact, while houses bring a group together.

All about Rosewood Phuket (1)

For walking to Patong’s bars and shops every evening, I would choose a base in the town centre.

Is it for you?

For two, outdoor space is a reason to stay here. I would give the trip a few slow mornings instead of booking an excursion for every day.

I’d ask for
The outlook we want and the breakfast arrangement we will use.
Worth knowing
Garden and Partial Ocean View have the same floor area, so the outlook from the terrace matters too.

Ta Khai restaurant
  1. Begin with breakfast

Before comparing 2 rates, I would check what comes with the morning. Breakfast added every day changes both the bill and the pace of the holiday.

  2. An evening on the bay

I would book Ta Khai early in the stay. That leaves time to decide whether to spend more evenings with southern Thai cooking or look for another table outside.

  3. The hours after landing

After a long flight, I would leave room for the drive and arrival before committing to a prepaid treatment or dinner.

What Rosewood Phuket is

The resort follows a hillside down to Emerald Bay on Phuket’s south-west coast. Pavilions sit among the gardens, while villas and houses add living rooms and bedrooms for those travelling together. Before moving up a category, decide how much of the day you want to spend in your own accommodation.

Ta Khai would bring me back for dinner. Southern Thai dishes, seafood and local ingredients belong to rooms arranged like a fishing village. Red Sauce gives you an Italian evening, while The Shack serves seafood beside the pool.

There is room to alternate the sea and Asaya without planning every hour before arrival. I would leave the first afternoon open after travelling: on this side of Phuket, the airport journey deserves space in the day too.

How we choose the hotels

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Rosewood Phuket’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The peace and greenery appeal, while one guest says getting used to buggy journeys takes a little time.

  2. Room

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. A family loved the sea-view villa but found the bed and pillows too soft for their taste.

  3. Staff and service

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. One traveller describes detail-conscious service, including in the restaurant, that still gave guests space.

  4. Breakfast

Breakfast ordered from a menu and cooked fresh is a morning detail one guest particularly enjoyed.

  5. Price

One guest enjoyed the spa but found treatments very expensive and wanted clearer detail on what was included.

113 guests said so on Google, from 7 November 2024 to 18 October 2026. Stored Google reviews dated from 5 November 2024. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Phuket: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 5 November 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

Before your stay

How much does a night cost?

Single-night prices for 2 adults started at THB 43,062 for 18 November 2026, THB 72,556 for 9 December 2026 and THB 45,668 for 17 February 2027. The room, meals, taxes and cancellation terms need to be established in the quote. Prices from Google Hotels, 5 November 2026.

How long is the airport transfer?

Phuket International Airport is about 40 km away. Allow roughly 60–90 minutes by car, depending on traffic. Hotel-arranged transfers carry an additional charge.

When can I use the pools?

The shared pools open from 7am to 8pm, with dedicated areas for swimming lengths, activities and children. Food and drinks can be ordered poolside.

What is provided for children?

Rosewood Explorers offers cooking, arts, cultural activities and movement. Cots, pushchairs, high chairs and services including room childproofing and pool fencing are available for younger children. Have the items you need for their ages included in the booking.

When does the gym open?

The gym is open 24 hours, with staff from 6am to 6pm. Padel, Muay Thai, yoga and private sessions offer other ways to train.

What is the minimum age for Asaya?

Asaya welcomes guests aged 13 and over. Arrive at least 20 minutes before a treatment. Cancellation within 4 hours costs 50%, while a missed appointment is charged in full.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by noon. Cancellation terms depend on the rate or promotion booked.

What is Asaya like, and how would I choose a treatment?

Asaya sits among gardens with sea views. Choices include Aqua Sound Therapy, Chi Nei Tsang and Phukej Mantra, which begins with a pineapple-pearl salt scrub and continues with heated sand in a poultice. If a sauna or steam room is central to your day, establish the available facilities and access arrangement first, including for guests staying elsewhere.

Where can I park?

Valet parking is complimentary. Self-parking is also available.

Can I arrange a private reception?

The Courtyard, beside the Glass House, is one of the resort’s event spaces for working lunches, intimate gatherings and cocktail receptions. Have the quotation specify guest numbers for your layout, the spaces reserved and the full reception cost.

Trisara villas above the beach

Trisara

At Trisara I would begin with the villa and dinner, leaving the hours between tables open.

The dark-tiled main pool between coconut palms, Thai pavilions on each side and the sea at the end

A canopied bedroom beneath a timber roof

Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui

I’d come to spend a few days in the villa, with time down at the beach and dinner already settled. A trip built around walking out to bars and restaurants each evening needs a base closer to the island’s nightlife.

I cortili del Four Seasons Bangkok

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

I’d book this for days that leave some time for the hotel: a Cantonese dinner, a drink at BKK Social Club and another swim. If walking between shopping malls is your priority, choose Siam; this stay begins down by the river.

Shangri-La Bangkok

Shangri-La Bangkok

I’d stay here to use the ferries and SkyTrain, then return for dinner on the river without another taxi. If you want an intimate hotel with few bedrooms, look elsewhere: Shangri-La’s 802 rooms belong to a different scale of stay.

A poolside sala at The Peninsula Bangkok

The Peninsula Bangkok

I’d choose it for a trip centred on the river: come back from the heat, swim, then eat at Thiptara beneath a teakwood sala. If you want to walk straight out into Silom’s business district, choose the opposite bank; this is Khlong San.

Chatham Bars Inn’s grounds and bay

Chatham Bars Inn

I would come in summer, when the beach and boating can fill a day without much planning. Choose the building carefully if you want dinner close to your room: the historic inn and cottages spread across the grounds.

Social Space Café with red seating and green dividers

21 House of Stories Navigli

I would come for a Navigli weekend with room for a morning’s work. If the trip centres on a spa or stepping straight out into the fashion district, I would start with another address.
