The rest goes on the bill. The shared seaplane costs $597 per adult, according to Booking.com, and the website’s rates leave out tax, service charge and Green Tax.

Questions before you go

What travellers ask before booking the island, answered from sources read between 3 and 7 October 2026.

What kind of resort is NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort?

A 5-star resort, as Google Hotels and Tripadvisor class it, with 105 villas on Fonimagoodhoo, a private island in Baa Atoll about 125 km north of Malé. The brand is NH Collection, part of Minor Hotels, according to the official page.

The hotel’s own listing on Tripadvisor dates the reopening to 18 December 2025, after a renovation and a change of operator, and also names it Reethi Beach Resort; the festive programme marks its first year on 21 December 2026. The website does not say how many villas there are of each type.

Which villas can you choose, and how big are they?

7 types, on the villas page read on 3 October 2026. On the beach: the smallest, 38 m² for 2 adults; a 47 m² villa with a living area and sofa bed; 2 pool villas of 62 and 98 m²; a 2-bedroom family villa of 115 m² and the Reethi Suite, 150 m², also with 2 bedrooms. Over the water there is a single type, 61 m² for 3 adults, with steps down into the lagoon.

All have a bathroom with a tub and a rain shower, an espresso machine and Bluetooth speakers, and the pool villas come with a dedicated host. For the night of 7 October 2026 the official website, on Google Hotels, asked for 2, taxes included, $431 for the smallest villa, $639 for the water villa, $848 for the 98 m² pool villa and $1,984 for the Reethi Suite. The official FAQ says there are accessible villas, while the Google Hotels listing marks accessibility as unavailable.

Where is it, and is the island quiet?

On Fonimagoodhoo in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Dharavandhoo airport is about 12 km away, according to Tripadvisor, and Hanifaru Bay 20 minutes by boat, according to the marine-life page.

It is a barefoot island, where you go shoeless even to the restaurants, 2026 guests say. A couple in a water villa in August counted 6 minutes on foot to the main restaurant; a family in January were about 700 metres away, so anyone travelling with small children should ask for a villa near the centre. Guests mention a singer in the evenings and a DJ.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the transfer cost?

By seaplane from Velana International Airport, 35 minutes and in daylight only, or by a 20-minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo and a 15-minute speedboat, according to the official page, which arranges both. Booking.com gives the shared seaplane at $597 a person from age 12 and $300 from 2 to 11, and the flight and speedboat at $350 and $190, valid from 1 December 2025 to 31 December 2027 and paid separately.

The official website does not publish these fares.

Can you arrive by car or park?

No: the island is reached only by seaplane or by speedboat from Dharavandhoo, and it has no roads for cars. The Google Hotels listing marks parking as unavailable, no official source describes any, and on the island you get about on foot along sandy paths.

How do you get into the sea?

From the beach, which the land villas open onto, and from the water villas, each with steps down into the lagoon, according to the water villa page. The Reethi Suite has a private stretch of beach on the east side.

The reef is close: a guest in June 2026 was snorkelling 20 metres from the beach. On Tripadvisor a guest in January 2026 recommends reef shoes, because near the shore the coral is sharp.

Is there a house reef you can swim to?

Yes. The marine-life page puts it a short swim from the shore, with butterfly, angel, damsel and trumpetfish, nudibranchs, octopus and morays; blacktip and whitetip reef sharks and green and hawksbill turtles move through the lagoon. The resort says it replants coral with marine biologists.

Guests in 2026 report sharks, eagle rays and turtles on almost every swim, even from the water villas’ steps. At Hanifaru Bay, from May to November, up to 200 mantas gather and whale sharks pass; access is limited to 5 boats and 80 snorkellers at a time, and the trip is extra.

What pools are there?

The main pool, an infinity pool facing the sea, with drinks and snacks by the water and a DJ at sunset, according to the leisure page; next to it is the beach bar, Madumaithiri. The kids’ club has its own shaded pool with water slides.

4 villa types have a private pool: the 2 beach pool villas, 62 and 98 m², and the 2 with 2 bedrooms. Google Hotels also lists an indoor pool and a hot tub, which the official pages do not show, and the website gives no pool sizes.

Is the pool heated, and when is it open?

The official pages publish neither the hours nor the temperature of the main pool, and none mentions heating. Madumaithiri, the bar beside it, is open from 9am to midnight, and the kids’ club Splash Bar from 10am to 6pm, according to the dining page. The sea, a guest wrote in March 2026, was at 28°C.

Where can you eat, and until when?

According to the dining page: Jumla, the main restaurant, a buffet with live cooking, breakfast from 7 to 11am, lunch from 12.30 to 3pm and dinner from 6.30 to 9.30pm, with Mediterranean, Indian and Maldivian theme nights; Alifaan, the beach grill, in the evening from 6.30 to 9.30pm, weather and season permitting; Kaiyo, Asian cooking over the water, from 12.30 to 4pm and 6.30 to 10pm; and Caravela, a tasting menu with paired wines, from 7pm by reservation.

Then the bars: Madumaithiri, with pizza and burgers from 11am to 9pm; Atardecer, with sunset tapas until 7pm; Handhuvaru, for rum, until midnight; and the Splash Bar. In-villa dining runs from 7am to 10pm, and Adrift lays on private dinners on the beach or a sandbank. The home page counts 8 restaurants and bars, its FAQ 7, the Google Hotels listing 5 restaurants.

Which meal plans are there, and what do they include?

On the official website on 3 October 2026: a breakfast rate; Island Bliss, with 2 meals; Family Getaway, with 3 meals and children under 10 eating free with their parents; and the All-Inclusive Exclusive, with breakfast, lunch and dinner at Jumla, free-flowing drinks from a set list, the minibar filled once per stay and a $50 spa credit. Rates are per villa per night, before tax, service charge and Green Tax.

The all-inclusive terms warn that some dishes and events cost extra and that the minibar refill is soft drinks only. A guest in January 2026, on Tripadvisor, also had an excursion and set-menu dinners in 2 other restaurants; in late February 2026 another paid extra for the pizza.

What is the spa like?

REVIVE Spa & Wellbeing has 4 treatment rooms in the island’s greenery, ELEMIS facials, yoga and mindfulness, according to the spa page; the website does not give its size.

The official page names no sauna, steam room or hot tub: Booking.com lists a steam room and a hot tub, Tripadvisor a steam room. Besides massages, the menu has Ayurvedic rituals such as shirodhara, magnesium treatments, post-dive rituals and private Pilates.

Is the spa included, is there a charge, and can outside guests use it?

Treatments are paid for and charged to the villa, plus 10% service charge and 17% GST, according to the spa menu; the official all-inclusive includes a $50 credit. No official page publishes a day pass for anyone not staying on the island, which holds only the resort, and the leisure page adds a fee for activities booked with outside operators.

What are the spa’s hours?

From 10am to 8pm, according to the spa menu, which also gives the phone number and email for booking; the spa page publishes no hours. Arrive 15 minutes early; cancelling a treatment with less than 4 hours’ notice, or a package with less than 24 hours’, costs 50%.

Families in August and September 2026 praise the club, which takes children from 4; for anyone younger there is the babysitting service.

What is there on the island besides the villas?

According to the leisure page: a gym, a full-size tennis court, indoor badminton, pickleball, beach volleyball, an air-conditioned games room with table tennis, a pool table, the spa and a water-sports centre with wakeboarding, jet skis, kayaks, paddleboards and catamarans.

Can you get married on the island?

Yes, in a ceremony that is symbolic only, as the package terms state. The weddings page offers 2 beaches: the one by Atardecer, facing the sunset, for vows and a candlelit banquet, and the small water-sports cove for renewals of vows.

The 3 packages, Romantic Celebration, Silver Celebration and Majestic Moment, include a master of ceremonies, a cake, a 4-course dinner on the beach and a film night in the villa; the second adds a bouquet, a couples’ massage and an hour of photography, the third champagne and video as well. The website publishes no prices or guest numbers, and says tax and service charge are added.

Is there a New Year’s Eve dinner?

Yes. The festive programme, «Havana Nights», from 21 December 2026 to 7 January 2027, has on 31 December a party with Cuban cocktails and canapés at Caravela and The Square at 7.30pm, a buffet with live entertainment at Jumla at 8.30pm and, at 10.30pm, a hidden trail to the beach to see in 2027. On Christmas Eve, at 7.30pm, there is a gala dinner with Cuban dancing at Jumla.

The programme gives no price for the dinners. A guest at New Year 2025, the first after the reopening, writes that the dinner cost extra; on Google Hotels the night of 31 December was the only one without a price.

The marine-life page splits the year in 2: from December to April the north-east monsoon brings calm water and visibility of up to 100 metres; from May to November the south-west monsoon brings plankton, and with it the mantas and whale sharks. Guests in June and August 2026 had fine weather almost throughout.

How much does a night cost?

Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, for 2 adults and one night, taxes and fees included: $431 on 7 October 2026, $556 on 4 December, $694 on 25 December, $773 on 30 December, $815 on 10 January 2027 and $550 on 20 January 2027.

For 7 October the official website asked $431 for the smallest beach villa. The nights from 23 December to 10 January are the dearest, and 31 December had no price. The transfer is extra.

What do the reviews say?

On 6 October 2026 Google showed 4.5/5 from 813 ratings; on 3 October Tripadvisor gave 4.6/5 from 3,778, with a 2026 Travellers’ Choice award, and Booking.com 9.0/10 from 154, with location at 9.5, staff at 9.4, value for money at 8.2 and Wi-Fi at 6.9. Most of these ratings describe the island before the reopening.

Since 18 December 2025 Google has gathered 42 ratings, 31 of 5 stars. Among the 29 reviews with text, those written since June talk mostly about the reef, the new villas and the staff; they also keep returning to extras the all-inclusive leaves out and, in the first months after the reopening, to charges at check-out that guests did not expect. 2 of those 29, from March 2026, are really about Reethi Faru and NH Collection Havodda.

Which taxes and charges are added?

The terms of every offer on the official website say rates exclude tax, service charge and Green Tax, and the spa menu adds 10% service and 17% GST. Google Hotels, for the Maldives market, shows figures with taxes and fees included, and the website does not publish the amount of the Green Tax.

Paid separately: the transfer, excursions such as the manta trip, the spa and extras outside the plan; in September 2026 a guest paid $8 for a small Coke, in March another $15 for a child’s milkshake.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in from 2pm and check-out by noon, according to the official page. Booking.com asks for photo ID and a credit card on arrival and your arrival time in advance, and lets under-18s check in only with a parent.
