SAii suits families and couples who want restaurants at the resort, the Hard Rock and the marina, from $628 a night in November 2026 for 2 adults: the lowest price any seller showed on Google for one night. Anyone after a secluded, silent island will be happier elsewhere: the lagoon is shared with day visitors from Malé.

CROSSROADS from the air: the marina and its boats, the white beach, the 2 padel courts and the footbridge
  1. The villa to request

I would ask for the Beach Villa with Pool: 113 m² with a king bed, a sea view, a private plunge pool and an outdoor deck. The bathroom adds an outdoor shower and bathtub.

  2. The week that costs less

The cheapest week Google showed on 12 October 2026 is 2–8 November 2026, with single nights for 2 adults at $628 to $629. The dearest, 13–19 February 2027, ran $989 to $1,170; the dearest night shown, 24 October, was $1,753.

  3. Charges on the rate

On the Long Stay offer, rates carry a 10% service charge, the prevailing TGST (the Maldives’ tourism goods and services tax) and a green tax of $12 per person per night. The airport speedboat transfer is not included in the room rate.

  4. Padel from 7am to 11pm

The 2 padel courts are open from 7am to 11pm. Every direct booking on the resort’s website includes a one-time 60-minute session for 2; a reservation and proper footwear are required.

What SAii Lagoon is

Hilton opened SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, on 2 September 2019 in the Emboodhoo Lagoon, with 198 rooms and villas (Hilton release). It belongs to Thailand’s S Hotels & Resorts (sustainability, S Hotels release), and is one of the CROSSROADS islands, with Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and a 30-berth marina. The island covers 6.4 hectares and takes about 15 minutes to walk round, 1,112 metres measured on OpenStreetMap.

Rooms run from the 44 m² Sky Room to the 240 m² 2-Bedroom Overwater Villa with Pool (rooms and villas). Over the water the Overwater Villa has 84 m², a lounging net and an outdoor tub; private pools come with the Beach Room and Beach Villa “with Pool” and 3 of the 5 family layouts.

Breakfast is at Terra & Mar; for lunch and dinner the meal plans open Miss Olive Oyl, the Pool Bar, Mr. Tomyam and Terra & Mar, 2 Hard Rock restaurants and 4 at the marina, with a $50 credit per adult at Ministry of Crab, Nihonbashi Blue and Carne Diem (meal plans). Since September 2026 there is also SunRay Social & Swim Club (Hotelier Maldives), open from 10am to 1am (SunRay).

The SAii Spa, which the resort’s fact sheet calls the Maldives’ first free-standing 2-storey spa, opens from 10am to 8pm (fact sheet). The resort scores 4.7 out of 5 on Google from 2,090 reviews, 4.8 on Tripadvisor from 2,298 and 8.7 out of 10 on Booking.com from 274 (Tripadvisor, Booking.com).

How we choose the hotels

Our reading, point by point

What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.

  1. Location

15 minutes by boat from Velana; the lagoon is shared with the Hard Rock, and Malé is in view.

  2. Character

Colour, music and a marina over the bridge: a sociable resort with little seclusion.

  3. Rooms

44 to 240 m²; over the water only the 2-bedroom villa has a pool.

  4. Food and social life

Up to 14 places across 3 islands; meal plans reach the Hard Rock’s restaurants too.

  5. Wellness

A 2-storey SAii Spa open 10am to 8pm; treatments from $55 plus tax.

  6. The stay as a whole

From $447 a night for 2 in November and December, around $796 from February to August; transfer extra.

What makes it rare

A badge is an experience travellers look for, that is really here and that few hotels in the guide have.

What the badges are

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do SAii Lagoon’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write about the short transfer, 15 minutes by speedboat from the airport with no domestic flight, the beach and the bridge to the restaurants of the marina and the Hard Rock.

  2. Room

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write about spacious, clean rooms and villas made up twice a day, the private pool of the beach villas and the view over the lagoon.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests thank waiters and housekeepers by name, and write about the children’s club, the free buggies between the islands and the app used to book restaurants and the spa.

  4. Breakfast

6 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is a buffet at Terra & Mar, with dishes to order; guests thank the morning team by name.

  5. Price

With meals included, lunch and dinner are at SAii’s own restaurants, at 2 in the Hard Rock and at 4 on the marina; all-inclusive leaves out the minibar, room service and the drinks at 3 marina restaurants.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 25 October 2024 to 4 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in the Maldives: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 5 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in the Maldives:

Price: for two on the night of 2 November 2026, from $628 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).

What a night costs, season by season

Google showed single nights for 2 adults at $410 to $653 in October 2026, then from $628 to $925 until 21 December, from $732 to $1,170 until 10 March 2027 and from $691 to $989 until 6 September. From the reading of 4 October to that of 12 October, 87 of the 290 nights read twice rose by more than 5% and 11 fell by as much; I would check the dates again before booking.

The Sky Room looking at the Hard Rock

A parent with a 6-year-old, who stayed at both resorts, found the best view in the Sky Room: the lagoon, the bridge and the Hard Rock’s island. The beach in front was always quiet, and the snorkelling was right outside the room.

A fast respected at every table

A couple who came at the end of August: she was on a religious fast, no meat, fish or eggs. The chef cooked off the menu and told the island’s other restaurants; at Kinkao, on the marina, they made her salad vegetarian.

A fortnight for 4, with a pool

A family of 4 praise their pool villa, big and clean, and the buggies to the marina and the Hard Rock; but the wardrobe was too small for a fortnight, some pool tiles kept coming loose and breakfast disappointed.

Everything goes through the app

A guest at the end of July notes there is no butler: restaurants, spa and buggies are booked in the app, which worked badly for them. They also advise reading the names carefully: the “Family Beach Room” is a room with neighbours, unlike a villa.

The reef and breakfast

A guest in June 2026, 3 stars, writes that the reef is dead, that at low tide you wade in over rocks, that breakfast offers little choice and that the all-inclusive leaves out the minibar. The same month another sees sharks, turtles and rays 50 metres off the beach.
