Among returning guests, 6 write of an overwater bungalow, 2 of Platinum Island. I would ask for a Sunset Water Bungalow: since March 2025, 5 guests write of its sunsets; in July, writes one in August 2025, the sunset is not in front of it.

Hakuraa Huraa has taken guests since 1999 according to maldives.net.mv and MakeMyTrip, since 1991 according to Maldives Idylls. It closed in 2018 to be rebuilt from the ground up and reopened on 16 December 2019 under Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, the hotel brand of Sri Lanka’s John Keells group (Travel Trade Maldives, maldives.net.mv). Back then only the private island was adults only; today the site takes guests over 18 only, across the whole resort (official site).
At the reopening there were 70 water bungalows and 10 beach bungalows on the main island, and 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows on the private island, about 200 metres away and joined to it by a walkway (Travel Trade Maldives). The site sells 4 categories: the 70 m² Beach and Platinum Beach Bungalows, and the Water and Sunset Water Bungalows, whose size it does not publish, all for up to 3 adults, and none lists a private pool among its amenities (rooms).

We found 70 m² bungalows on the beach, a Platinum Island with its own restaurant, Manzaru, and its own bar, the Vevu, a Mandara Spa open from 10am to 8pm and a gym that never closes.
Among Hakuraa Huraa’s regulars, 8 put the staff first, 2 of them as the reason they return; 4 were recognised by staff on their return, one after 6 years, and another found the same dive guide 16 years on. The boat to the reef is praised by 4, and 3 vegetarians write that the chefs went out of their way for them. They notice what is new: a fountain and a sports centre, writes one in January 2026, the Corals restaurant, writes another that February. The resort notices them too: 2, writing in January and April 2026, were given a dinner for coming back.

A walkway leads to the smaller island, about 200 metres away (Travel Trade Maldives), home at the reopening to the 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows (maldives.net.mv). Guests staying there have a buffet restaurant of their own, Manzaru, and the Vevu Bar overlooking the pool; the bar opens from 8am until the last guest leaves (Manzaru, Vevu Bar).
