It suits a stay of 4 nights or more spent inside the park: treks at dawn, snorkelling in the bay, a treatment by the lake and dinner on the cliff. For a trip that takes in Vietnam’s cities as well, it is a 75-minute drive from Cam Ranh airport, and the evenings are the resort’s own.

Our verdict

A table laid on the Cliff Pool deck at dusk, lanterns hanging from the tree and the sea below

Amanoi gives most to travellers who want to stay put: the resort lies inside the park, with its beach on the bay and the spa within the grounds, and breakfast, afternoon tea and the non-motorised watersports come with the room.

Aman opened Amanoi in September 2013 on a headland of Núi Chúa National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on the coast of Khánh Hòa. Jean-Michel Gathy designed it after Vietnamese temples: dark curved roofs over the trees, the Central Pavilion on the cliff, a lake of lotus flowers below with the spa beside it and a beach of pale sand at the foot of the slope. MICHELIN gave it Three Keys in 2025 and again in 2026 (Doanh Nhân Plus, 29 September 2026).

The 19 categories run from 95 m² pavilions without a pool to 125 m² pool villas, 2 wellness villas with a hammam or a banya, and residences of up to 5 bedrooms with butlers; the newest, the Amanoi Ocean Pool Residence, has its own beach and spa house. The cliff pool covers 140 m² and the Beach Club pool 400 m², by the fact sheet.

Guests write first of the staff, who know them by name, and of the quiet; those less taken with the place write of the price and the drive from the airport. The resort’s restaurants serve Aman guests only, so dinner is the Restaurant, the Beach Club, a table on the beach or the Cham dinner in the forest.

Lumina Guide 2027

We choose the hotels of this guide ourselves, one at a time: no one pays to be in it.

How we choose the hotels

Our reading, point by point

What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.

  1. Location

On a headland of Núi Chúa National Park above Vinh Hy Bay, 75 minutes by car from Cam Ranh airport

  2. Character

Aman’s only resort in Vietnam, opened in September 2013, by Jean-Michel Gathy after Vietnamese temples

  3. Rooms

19 categories, from the 95 m² Lake Pavilion to 5-bedroom residences of 1,000 m² with butlers

  4. Food and social life

The Restaurant on the cliff, the Beach Club, the Bar with a pianist and a singer, and Vietnamese afternoon tea in the rate

  5. Wellness

The Aman Spa on the lotus lake, 2 hydrotherapy suites, a Pilates studio, a floating yoga pavilion and 2 wellness villas

  6. The stay as a whole

On Google Hotels, read on 16 October 2026: VND 42,561,536 on 21 November 2026 and VND 46,797,884 on 18 January 2027

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Amanoi’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The resort sits inside Núi Chúa National Park, far from any town: guests write of the view over the bay, the quiet and the distance between the villas; others find the road from the airport long and little to do outside the gate.

  2. Room

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of secluded villas, private pools over the bay and rooms put back in order each time they step out.

  3. Staff and service

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Staff who call every guest by name recur, with the residences’ butlers, the yoga and fitness classes and a tennis hitting partner found on request.

  4. Breakfast

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is in the rate and ordered à la carte at the Restaurant; some put it beside afternoon tea among the things not to miss, and 2 guests, in 2018 and in July 2026, would like a more varied menu.

  5. Price

6 in 10 guests who mention the price find it fair. The price divides guests: those who are happy write that the stay is worth what it costs, those who are not set the bill against other luxury resorts in Vietnam or against the small things that went wrong.

The scores come from 344 Google reviews with text, left from 22 December 2014 to 13 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay on the Khanh Hoa coast: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 16 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against on the Khanh Hoa coast:

  • Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
  • Zannier Bãi San Hô
  • The Anam Cam Ranh
  • Mia Resort Nha Trang
  • Fusion Resort Cam Ranh

A guest in an ocean villa, writing in January 2026, found that the staff knew every guest by name and brought no bill to sign at the restaurants; the spa let them book a private hydrotherapy suite. The one drawback named is the drive, 1 hour 15 minutes from the airport.
