Rah Gili suits couples who want private dinners on the sand and yoga at sunrise, with nights from $1,465, the lowest price any seller showed on Google for one night for 2 adults. If every dinner dish must be covered by an all-inclusive plan, I would choose a different arrangement.
Co-founder & CEOMarco Di CesareHe spent weeks comparing hotels and kept finding that the detail deciding the trip was missing from the hotel website. 10 years in marketing technology, 2 of them building with AI.About MarcoHow we write the guideLinkedIn
I would ask for the Beach Pool Villa: 171 m², with a shaded deck beside the private pool, a walk-in wardrobe and outdoor showers, all on the sand.
The weeks that cost less
Read on 12 October 2026, the nights from 10 to 16 May 2027 each show $1,465 on Google. The dearest nights, 30 December 2026 and 3 January 2027, each show $3,564.
What half board covers
Half board is $145++ per person per day, with drinks charged as consumed. At Maakeyolhu or Teppan, dinner comes with a $140 net food credit per person; the plan covers selected dishes.
Dinner reservations at Teppan
With 8 seats around Teppan’s grill, I would reserve dinner before settling the rest of the evening’s plans. The meal-plan terms require advance reservations for this restaurant and for Maakeyolhu.
What Rah Gili is
Rah Gili Maldives is the first resort in the SIX & SIX Private Islands collection, on the island of Mahaanaelhihuraa at the southern edge of South Malé Atoll. A release dated 15 September 2025 announced its opening for December 2025 or early 2026, and the first Google reviews are from 4 December 2025. There are 74 villas, each with a private pool, 37 on the beach and 37 over the lagoon according to the hotel's own Tripadvisor listing, in 6 types from 171 to 257 m².
The reason to choose it is the water villas: 206 m², an infinity pool on the deck and a slide straight into the lagoon; the Sunset villas face the evening sun, and the Sunset Water Pool Villa adds an upper deck. Every stay comes with a personal host, the Edhurun, check-in happens in the villa and the speedboat from Velana takes 45 minutes. There are 6 restaurants, from Tiffin's Indian kitchen to La Tavola, the Italian over the lagoon, and 4 meal plans, from breakfast only to an all-inclusive at $375 a person a day, with service and tax on top.
Choose it knowing it is in its first year. The beaches have a lot of crushed coral, and in July 2026, 3 Google reviews mention building work, from villas still going up to works a short way from the island. Those who knew the island before will find it changed, without the bay it had; on Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, a night for 2 started at $1,224 in October and reached $4,188 at Christmas.

What to expect
Juliette's dining room, the beach club under its thatch and the dolphins of the sanctuary beside the island.
From the first coffee to the last nightcap, the website says: breakfast from the buffet and the menu, long lunches, themed dinners with live music, indoors in the cool or out in the open. Every meal plan includes it, and breakfast can also be ordered to the villa from a menu.
Pool bar and lounge under a great thatched roof: cocktails served in shells and coconuts, a resident DJ, cushions on the sand and shisha on the terrace. The website says it never closes; on full board and all-inclusive it is the lunch venue.
The island sits beside a dolphin sanctuary, and from December to early May, the website says, spinner dolphins swim in the surrounding water; the marine guides take guests out by boat to find them. In August 2026 a group of friends with 2 children watched 4 or 5 pods from their villa for almost 2 hours on the day they left.
Good to know before you book
The speedboat from Velana airport takes 45 minutes, weather permitting, according to the website’s FAQ; there is no reception, and check-in is done on the speedboat or in the villa, from 3pm. Source: rahgili.com
The beach has a lot of crushed coral. In July 2026, 2 Google reviews describe coral and shells mixed into the sand, thicker on the sunrise side; in September 2026 a third finds little coral, a way into the sea that shelves gently and a beach swept every day.
The resort is new and building goes on around it. In July 2026, 3 Google reviews mention building work: villas still under construction, workmen in sight and works a short way from the island. Those who knew the island before find it changed, without the bay and the 2 islets you could once walk to across the lagoon, as 3 Google reviews between March and June 2026 say.
The meal plans do not cover every restaurant. Half board includes Juliette, Spicy Ginger, Tiffin and La Tavola; at Maakeyolhu and Teppan there is a $140 credit a person, and drinks are charged.
45 minutes from Velana airport, weather permitting, according to the website's FAQ; a guest in December 2025 made it about 40

Rah Gili Maldives reviews
The platforms' scores, read on 3 October 2026, and what guests have written since the opening in December 2025.
On 6 October 2026 Google Hotels showed 4.1/5 from 45 ratings, 76% of them 5 stars. The figures by theme come from the 29 Google reviews with text, from 4 December 2025 to 25 September 2026. They are accounts of stays we have not checked.

Google
The reef below the villa
In July 2026 a guest staying 5 nights had worried about the reef after reading other reviews, then saw plenty of fish snorkelling straight off the water villa; the range of cooking made every dinner something to look forward to.
In September 2026 a guest in a beach villa described the water villas, with 2 decks and an 18-metre slide that cannot always be used at low tide. The island is compact, everything is close by, and the speedboat carries a host, water and coffee.
In July 2026 a guest who had worked in luxury hospitality praised the food and the restaurant staff, but found beaches of coral and shells, building sites in view and rain coming into both their villas; yoga is charged and there is no music in the evenings.
In August 2026 a guest loved the slides and the guards who were always around, but a 3-course dinner took 2 hours and many could only find a table from 8pm.
In August 2026 a family found the villas new and clean, right for couples and families, and their host attentive; at the dive centre, run by an outside company as the guest understood it, staff tried to sell a banana boat ride with the jet ski.
In April 2026 a guest who knew the island before mourned the bay and the 2 islets you could once walk to: the water villas and the building work, they wrote, have made it like so many others.
What people ask before booking Rah Gili Maldives, with sources read between 3 and 6 October 2026.
What kind of resort is Rah Gili Maldives?
A resort of 74 pool villas, the first in the SIX & SIX Private Islands collection, on the island of Mahaanaelhihuraa in South Malé Atoll, as the release dated 15 September 2025 says (21 August 2025 in the list of releases). It announced an opening in December 2025 or early 2026 and promised solar power and zero waste. Expedia lists it as 5 stars and above; Google Hotels gives it no stars.
The first Google reviews are from 4 December 2025. Booking.com attributes it to Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, while the official website signs it «a Six & Six Private Island». People who knew the island before remember another resort with a dolphin bay, and Booking.com still calls the nearby beach «Rihiveli The Dream Beach».
There are 74 villas, half over the water according to the Tripadvisor listing; the website does not say how many of each. The pages print each size twice, «171 sqm / 1,840 sqm»: the second figure is the same area in square feet. On 7 October 2026 the website, on Google, asked $1,370 for 2 in a Beach Pool Villa with breakfast and $2,927 for the family villa over the water.
Where is it, and is the island quiet?
On the island of Mahaanaelhihuraa, at the edge of South Malé Atoll, as the resort page and the contact page say, with the address «Mahaanaelhihuraa, Male 20026». The speedboat from Velana airport takes 45 minutes; as the crow flies Booking.com counts 26 miles and Tripadvisor 28, and Tripadvisor puts the nearest restaurants on Olhuveli, 4 miles away.
It is a small, quiet island, «on the quieter side» as a guest put it in August 2026. In July 2026, 3 Google reviews mention building work, from villas still going up to works a short way from the island.
How do you get there from Malé, and what does the transfer cost?
By speedboat from Velana airport, 45 minutes weather permitting, according to the FAQ; Booking.com describes a shared speedboat. The website publishes no fare: the offers read on 6 October 2026 include the return transfer, shared, for 2 guests in one-bedroom villas and 4 in 2-bedroom ones, with extra guests charged.
Outside the offers the website publishes no fare, as its FAQs and offers show, read on 15 October 2026. On board, a guest wrote in September 2026, there is a host, water, a charger and coffee; in August 2026 a group of friends found the transfer smooth.
Can you drive there or park?
No: you arrive only by sea. Rah Gili is an island in South Malé Atoll reached by speedboat from Velana, compact and with everything close by, a guest wrote in September 2026. Google Hotels lists accessible parking, an error for an island without cars.
How do you get into the sea?
From the water villas you go down into the lagoon by the steps or the slide, as the villa pages say; from the beach villas you step onto the sand, and Booking.com lists a private beach. In August 2026 a group of friends with 2 children found the water round their villa easy to swim even at high tide, and the steps back up easy too.
From the beach the way in has a lot of crushed coral, most of all on the sunrise side, as 2 guests wrote in July 2026; in September 2026 a guest found it gentle, with little coral.
Is there a reef you can swim to?
Yes, from the water villas: the FAQ describes easy access to the house reef straight from the water villas, and the experiences page puts it «just a fin-flip from shore». The guided trips go to a reef 15 minutes away by boat, known for its table corals; for diving, the Pete Wreck is 10 minutes away, then Kandooma Thila, Guraidhoo Corner and Cocoa Corner, with manta rays in season.
In July 2026 one guest saw plenty of fish snorkelling just off the water villa, and in December 2025 another wrote of a vibrant house reef.
What pools are there?
Every villa has its own private pool, an infinity pool on the water villas, according to the villa pages, which give no sizes. The shared pool is at Amrit, the beach club with a DJ on the dining page. Booking.com counts 2 pools, Expedia 2 outdoor pools and a children's pool, Google Hotels an adults-only pool and a waterslide: the website does not describe them.
Are the pools heated, and when are they open?
No source says whether the water is heated or to what temperature. The villa pools are private and always open to their guests; the dining page says Amrit never closes, while on the meal plans it is the lunch venue.
Where do you eat, and what?
In 6 restaurants, according to the dining page: Juliette, the everyday room from breakfast to midnight, with themed dinners; Tiffin, Indian cooking served in tiffin tiers, with a tandoor; Maakeyolhu, Maldivian seafood; Teppan, 8 seats round the teppanyaki grill; Spicy Ginger, Asian cooking and sushi over the lagoon; La Tavola, the Italian over the water, with hand-rolled pasta and wood-fired pizza. Amrit, the pool bar and beach club, completes the list.
The website publishes no hours; Booking.com has Juliette for breakfast and dinner, Spicy Ginger for lunch and dinner and the others for dinner only. Booking.com counts 8 restaurants, adding Amrit and Juliette's bar, and the Tripadvisor listing 6 restaurants and 4 bars. There is no underwater restaurant.
What meal plans are there, and what do they include?
4, according to the meal plan page and its PDF: breakfast at Juliette, or in the villa from a set menu; half board at $145 a person a day, with dinner at Juliette, Spicy Ginger, Tiffin or La Tavola; full board at $195, adding lunch at Amrit; and the «Gourmet» all-inclusive at $375, with selected wines, prosecco, house spirits, cocktails, beer and soft drinks by the glass from 11am to 11pm. The website marks the prices «++», service and tax on top.
Every plan covers selected dishes, 3 courses; at Maakeyolhu and Teppan there is a $140 dinner credit a person, the rest charged. Children aged 5 to 11 pay half and under-5s eat free; the plan must cover the whole stay and everyone in the villa, and until 4 January 2027 the minibar on half board, full board or all-inclusive holds soft drinks, water and beer. At one point the PDF says «beverages charged separately» even for the all-inclusive.
What is the spa like?
Like a secret garden, says the home page: 5 treatment rooms, a yoga pavilion open to the breeze, sunrise yoga and sunset sound baths. The Tripadvisor listing calls it SIX & SIX Rituals, a concept built on the 5 elements of nature.
No official source gives its size, a sauna or a steam room; Booking.com lists a relaxation area, changing rooms, an open-air bath and face and body treatments, Google Hotels a sauna and a hot tub.
Is the spa included, is there a charge, and can outside guests use it?
It is paid by the treatment: no meal plan and no offer read on 6 October 2026 includes a massage, and a guest in July 2026 wrote that yoga is charged too. No day pass for anyone not staying on the island is published, and Rah Gili is reached only by speedboat.
What are the spa's hours?
The website publishes neither hours nor prices: the home page speaks of sunrise yoga and sunset sound baths, and the activities page of massages, yoga and sound baths after the sea. The portals read between 3 and 6 October 2026 give no hours either.
Which treatments are offered, and at what price?
The activities page mentions massages, yoga and sound baths in a traditional Maldivian spa with ocean views, with no menu and no prices. Expedia lists detox wraps, sports massages and body wraps, Booking.com scrubs, facials, manicures and pedicures.
No price list is published: no meal plan and no offer read on 6 October 2026 includes a massage, and treatments are paid for separately.
Is it good for children?
Yes: the Nest Kids Club takes children from 4 to 12, younger ones with a parent or a babysitter, who is charged extra, as the FAQ says. The 2-bedroom villas sleep up to 5 adults; the one-bedroom villa pages give no places for children.
On the meal plans children aged 5 to 11 pay half and under-5s eat free. On Booking.com cots are free, an extra bed is free up to 4, $200 a night from 5 to 11 and $390 from 12, and under-18s can only check in with a parent. In August 2026, 2 children of 9 and 11 went snorkelling with the activity centre’s guide; for teenagers, past the Nest Kids Club’s limit of 12, there is the dive centre.
What is there on the island besides the villas?
6 restaurants, Amrit beach club with its pool, the spa and its yoga pavilion, a gym, the children's club and the dive and water sports centre; the activities page lists kayaks, paddleboards, jet skis, kiteboarding and snorkelling with mantas and turtles. Booking.com adds a tennis court, Expedia basketball.
Wi-Fi is free and several devices can share a villa's connection; personal drones are banned, the FAQ says. According to a guest in July 2026, kayaks and paddleboards are charged and the loungers are gathered in a single part of the island.
What offers are there?
Read on 6 October 2026: Live The Moment Ahead, up to 35% off when booking at least 90 days ahead, and Seas The Moment, up to 30% off 31 to 89 days ahead, both with the speedboat included and half board instead of breakfast, minimum 3 nights, for stays from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2027, with a non-refundable deposit of one night.
Seas The Summer gives up to 40% off until 31 October 2026, and Return to Paradise up to 20% from 1 November 2026 for returning guests, both with the shared transfer for 2 guests in one-bedroom villas and 4 in 2-bedroom ones. Offers cannot be combined.
Can you get married at Rah Gili Maldives?
The website publishes no wedding packages and no capacity for events. The experiences page suggests renewing vows on a secluded sandbank, a proposal under the stars or an anniversary with champagne on the villa deck, each arranged to order with no prices; a private dinner on the sand is one of the resort's signature experiences.
Is there a New Year's Eve dinner?
Yes, and it is compulsory: under the meal plan terms, the plans pause at 6pm on 31 December 2026 and resume with breakfast on 1 January, and the New Year's Eve gala dinner applies to every guest staying that night. Booking.com puts it at $740 an adult and $370 a child aged 5 to 11; no menu or programme is published.
On Google Hotels, read on 12 October 2026, the night of 31 December cost $3,523 for 2, and no source says whether the gala is included.
Can you play golf?
No: the website lists no golf course, not even mini-golf. Booking.com lists a tennis court, and Expedia basketball as well.
When is it open, and when is the best season?
It is open all year: on Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, all 117 nights from 7 October 2026 to 31 January 2027 had prices, and the website lists no closures. It opened between late 2025 and early 2026: the first Google reviews are from December 2025.
The website does not describe the seasons, except that spinner dolphins are seen most from December to early May, according to the FAQ; the summer offer runs until 31 October 2026.
How much does a night cost?
On Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, a night for 2 adults cost $1,224 on 9 October 2026, $1,422 on 20 October, $2,027 on 1 November, $1,842 on 5 December, $4,188 on 25 December and $2,701 on 5 January 2027, taxes and fees included.
The calendar names no villa. For 7 October the official website asked $1,370 for a Beach Pool Villa with breakfast, and its booking link included $324.19 of tax; the same night the Sunset Beach Pool Villa cost $1,563, the 2-bedroom Family Beach Pool Villa $2,516 and the Sunset Family Water Pool Villa $2,927. No one-bedroom water villa was among that night's offers, and the Seas The Summer offer, up to 40% off the best rate, ends on 31 October.
What do the reviews say?
On 3 October 2026 Google showed 4.1/5 from 44 ratings, Tripadvisor 4.2/5 from 35, with a Travellers’ Choice award, Booking.com 9 reviews averaging 8.1/10 and Expedia 10/10 from 1. Of the 29 Google reviews with text, 82% of those discussing the villas are positive, and 69% of those discussing the location. Guests’ accounts repeatedly mention evenings without music or entertainment and the level of the rates.
New, spacious villas, the slides, the personal hosts, chefs who cook to order and the dolphins recur. The beaches have a lot of crushed coral, and in the summer of 2026 building work was in sight from the island. On Google Hotels 76% give 5 stars.
What taxes and charges are added?
Google Hotels prices for the Maldives include taxes and fees: for 7 October the official website's link showed $1,370.19, of which $324.19 was tax. The meal plans and restaurant credits are marked «++» on the website, service and tax on top.
On Tripadvisor partner prices, from $1,045 for 11 October, were «taxes not included», read on 3 October 2026. On Booking.com an extra bed is paid at the resort, $200 a night from 5 to 11 and $390 from 12.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out at noon, according to the FAQ; it is done on the speedboat or in the villa, as there is no reception. Expedia asks for online registration before arrival and a copy of your passport, and in September 2026 a guest was given a late check-out through their host.
