A woman breakfasts in her villa pool from a floating basket of fruit, pastries and a bottle on ice.
  1. A pool behind hedges

For 2, I would ask for the 84 m² Beach Pool Villa: flowering hedges screen the private pool, and the indoor-outdoor bathroom lets you move between water, deck and bath in privacy.

  2. The week in November

Read on 12 October 2026, the nights from 9 to 15 November 2026 range from $709 to $747 each, searched separately for 2 adults. The dearest night shown is 2 January 2027, at $1,474.

  4. Ask for the museum

Ask your Freedom Coach for a free guided tour of the Dutch Onion museum: more than 400 relics come from across the Maldives, while the outdoor heritage site tells the island’s own story.

What Cora Cora is

Cora Cora Maldives has Maamigili to itself, an island in Raa Atoll 177 km from Malé that you can walk round in 20 to 30 minutes. There are 9 villa types, from the 63 m² Beach Villa to a 251 m² 2-bedroom lagoon villa with a slide into the sea; Tripadvisor and Expedia count 100 villas in all. Every guest is on the Premium All-Inclusive Gourmet Meal Plan: 4 à la carte restaurants, MYCOFFEE from 6am to midnight, premium spirits and wines, a minibar restocked daily and the non-motorised water sports.

People come so as not to think about the bill, and for the service. In the 244 Google reviews with text we read, from 2021 to September 2026, 90% of those who mention the staff are positive, and the same things keep coming up: the personal «Freedom Coach», coffee roasted on the island, dolphins at breakfast. It is a lively resort, with a DJ at Acquapazza in the evening and a kids’ club, livelier than islands built around seclusion, as one guest put it in September 2026.

Everything else is on top. The seaplane costs $558 a head return until 31 October 2026 and $590 from 1 November, per Booking.com, plus a Green Tax of $12 per person per night; the spa, diving, jet skis and excursions carry 10% service and 17% tax, and teppanyaki at Teien a $105 supplement per adult. The house reef is easy to reach from the beach, while from the lagoon villas what you see depends on the side; the resort closed for works from 27 August to 29 September 2026.

  2. Character

  3. Rooms

9 types from 63 to 251 m²; a private pool in 6 of them, and no railings on the lagoon villas.

  4. Food and social life

4 à la carte restaurants and a café included; Teien is the most sought-after and fills early.

  5. Wellness

7 treatment rooms, 4 over the water, a steam room and sunset yoga included.

  6. The stay as a whole

What the badges are

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

  1. Location

  2. Room

Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests like the villas for being clean, spacious and modern; the private pool, for its privacy, and the steps down into the lagoon come up often.

The scores come from 244 Google reviews with text, left from 19 July 2021 to 17 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Raa Atoll: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 7 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

Livelier than the other islands

In September 2026 a guest who knows the Maldives wrote that the Lagoon Villa is worth choosing and that the real draw is the all-inclusive: different restaurants, so no boredom even on a long stay. The mood is young and relaxed, livelier than at resorts that sell seclusion.

Sunrise or sunset

A honeymoon couple, there in February and March 2026, moved beach villas to avoid needing reef shoes on the sunrise side, and from the steps of their lagoon villa saw fish, a shark and an eagle ray. On the sunset side, they say, there was nothing to see; the seaplane kept them waiting 2½ hours.

The house reef

In July 2026 a German guest praised the food, Japanese, Italian and Asian, and the windsurfing, paddleboards and snorkel gear included. The reef, though, is largely empty, he wrote, with few corals and fewer fish, and diving and jet skis are expensive.

In February 2026 a family with a toddler of 2½ and a baby of 9 months had milk delivered to the villa every morning; the club could not take them alone, too young, but the elder joined in with the parents beside him. They watched turtles hatch on the beach, and wished Tazäa had high chairs ready.

Longer than planned

In March 2026 a Czech family stayed 13 nights instead of 9 because flights through Dubai were grounded, and say the resort behaved impeccably. They found the reef easy to reach from the beach, harder from the lagoon villas, with sharks, rays, turtles and, once, a manta.

Questions before you go

What people ask before booking Cora Cora, answered from sources read between 3 and 7 October 2026.

What kind of resort is Cora Cora Maldives?

A 5-star all-inclusive resort, as Google Hotels and Tripadvisor class it, on Maamigili island in Raa Atoll, which holds nothing else. It is owned and run by the Maldivian company HMM Pvt Ltd, according to the official site’s terms, and belongs to no chain. The site does not publish a villa count; Tripadvisor and Expedia give 100, in 9 types.

Among the awards on its awards page: Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2026 and, in 2024, a World Travel Award as the Indian Ocean’s leading all-inclusive resort.

Which villas are there, and how big are they?

The villas page lists 9 types. On the beach: the 63 m² Beach Villa and the 84 m² Beach Pool Villa with its pool. Over the lagoon: the 70 m² Lagoon Villa, the 101 m² Lagoon Pool Villa and the 2-storey 168 m² Duplex Lagoon Pool Villa. With 2 bedrooms: the 126 m² Family Beach Villa, the 173 m² Family Beach Pool Villa, the 181 m² Beach Pool Suite and the 251 m² lagoon villa with a slide.

All have a thatched roof, a king bed, a sofa bed, an included minibar and a smart TV; the beach villas have indoor-outdoor bathrooms. 6 of the 9 types have a private pool: the Beach Villa, the Lagoon Villa and the Family Beach Villa do not, although Expedia says all 100 rooms have one.

Where is it, and is the island quiet?

On Maamigili, in Raa Atoll, 177 km from Velana airport in Malé according to the official FAQ: 45 minutes by seaplane. You can walk round the island in 20 to 30 minutes, and the resort is all there is.

It is livelier than the islands that sell silence: a DJ plays at Acquapazza in the afternoon and in the evening until 12.30am, and there is a kids’ club. The villas at the far end of the jetties are a long way from the restaurants: 2 guests in 2026 mention the walk, and a mother travelling with her daughter wrote that staff carried her bags on a bicycle.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the seaplane cost?

By seaplane from Velana airport, 45 minutes, or a 30-minute flight to Ifuru and 20 minutes by speedboat, per the FAQ; Tripadvisor says 25 minutes by boat. Seaplanes fly in daylight only: they meet international flights landing by 3.30pm and, on the way home, flights leaving after 9am; outside those hours you spend a night in Malé.

The official site does not publish the fare. Booking.com gives $558 a head return until 31 October 2026 and $590 from 1 November, children half price until October, paid at the resort, plus a Green Tax of $12 per person per night. Before the flight you wait in the seaplane lounge: guests report waits of 2 to 3 hours.

Can you drive there or park?

No: Cora Cora is on an island reached only by seaplane or by domestic flight and speedboat, and on it you get about on foot, by bicycle or by buggy, which the resort provides for guests who find walking hard, according to the FAQ. The Google Hotels listing shows a paid airport shuttle, meaning the transfer; no source describes any parking.

How do you get into the sea?

From the beach, which runs right round the island, and from the lagoon villas, each with steps down into the water, per the villas page; the slide villa has its slide as well. The resort warns that there are no lifeguards around the lagoon villas and recommends them to confident swimmers.

On the sunrise side, a couple wrote in April 2026, parts of the beach call for reef shoes; in front of the sunset-side beach villas you can walk straight in.

Is there a house reef you can swim to?

Yes. The water sports page describes the house reef, Expedia puts it 30 metres from the shore, and the dive sites booklet describes Cora Spa, a reef top 3 metres down that drops to a 10-metre plateau with batfish and nurse sharks. Masks, snorkels and fins are included for the whole stay.

Guests in 2026 say where best to get in: for a family in March the reef is easy to reach from the beach and less so from the lagoon villas; for a couple in April the best is off the sunrise-side villas, with little to see on the sunset side. For mantas, Manta Hub is a cleaning station at 15 metres, from November to April.

What are the pools like?

The main pool beside Acquapazza, by the sea, open from 7am to 6pm according to the restaurant’s page; Booking.com describes it as an infinity pool. The CoRa kids Club has its own pool, open to children from 11am to noon and 3 to 4pm. Expedia counts 2 outdoor pools and a children’s pool.

Then there are the private pools, in 6 of the 9 villa types. The site gives no sizes for the shared pools; several guests describe the floating breakfast in their villa pool.

Is the pool heated, and when is it open?

The main pool is open from 7am to 6pm every day, per the Acquapazza page, and the kids’ club pool in 2 slots, 11am to noon and 3 to 4pm. No source we read gives a temperature or mentions heating.

Teppanyaki at Teien has 2 sittings, at 6.30 and 8.45pm, and a $105 supplement per adult, free for children under 12. No official page mentions a sauna, which the Google Hotels listing nonetheless shows. Around it are the yoga pavilion over the water and a gym open round the clock, with a sea view.

Book with the spa team or before you travel through the resort’s app; arrive 15 minutes early for the health form, and cancelling with under 4 hours’ notice costs half the price, a no-show the full price.
