Kudafushi suits couples and families after an all-inclusive week, with a free kids’ club for ages 3 to 12 and snorkelling from the shore: the lowest price any seller showed on Google for one night is $411 for 2 adults, on 2 to 5 November 2026. Anyone after a luxury resort’s finish will be happier elsewhere.

  1. The villa to ask for

To swim from the sand I would ask for a Beach Villa: 92 m² with a private beach and a terrace. A guest on a second stay, writing in April 2025, always books a villa without a pool.

  2. The week that costs less

Read on 12 October 2026, the cheapest week runs from 28 November to 4 December 2026: each of its 7 nights at $413. The dearest nights come from 1 to 7 January 2027, at $982 to $1,005.

  3. Transfers and taxes on top

Transfers from Malé are mandatory and the reservations office quotes them; Booking.com lists the seaplane at $340 each way per adult from 12. The spa and the dive centre, which also hires out snorkelling gear, add 10% service and 17% GST to their listed prices.

  4. The dolphin outings

4 guests who wrote between November 2025 and September 2026 mention dolphins among the trips they enjoyed, and the experiences page lists Lucky Dolphin, a boat ride to spot them.

What Kudafushi is

Kudafushi, which the resort calls its «Tiny Island», lies in Raa Atoll north of Malé: 45 minutes by seaplane, or a 30-minute domestic flight to Ifuru and 25 minutes by speedboat. Google Hotels rates it 5 stars, the website is signed by Kudafushi S.p.a., and a 2025 guest describes the clientele as «mainly Italian», while many recent reviews are in German. There are 5 villa types: on the beach at 92 m², or 102 m² with a pool; over the water at 75 m², or 85 m² with a pool; and a 325 m² Presidential Suite with 3 bedrooms.

The sea is the reason to come. Guests in 2025 and 2026 describe turtles, blacktip sharks, eagle rays and octopus a few strokes from the sand, and one saw dolphins every day; the PADI 5-star dive centre reaches more than 50 protected reefs. Of the latest 500 Google reviews, 93% of those discussing the location are positive, and 94% of those discussing the staff.

Kudafushi is a plain, barefoot all-inclusive, with roomy villas. The transfers from Malé are always extra, and anything outside the plan carries 10% service and 17% tax. The villas are being renovated a few at a time, as several guests reported in 2024 and 2025.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 6 November 2019 to 29 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Raa Atoll: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 7 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Raa Atoll:

Price: for two on the night of 2 November 2026, from $411 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).

What a night costs, season by season

3 restaurants and a pool bar

De’ North is the main restaurant, a buffet with Maldivian cooking on Saturdays and a theme on other nights: breakfast 7.30 to 10am, lunch 12.30 to 3pm, dinner 7.30 to 10pm. Olive Me, Mediterranean, sets its tables on the east beach; Sea Edge serves Asian food and works as the sunset bar from 5 to 7pm. The Juju Bar, beside the infinity pool, opens at 9am.

The house reef, a swim from the beach

The reef runs right round the island, and guests reach it by swimming from the beach or down the steps of the water villas. Mask and snorkel hire costs $5 a day at the dive centre, fins another $5; the guided reef tour is $15 and night snorkelling $30, all plus service and tax.

Good to know before you book

  • The villas are being renovated a few at a time, as several guests reported in 2024 and 2025. Source: 500 Google reviews read, 6 November 2019 to 29 September 2026

  • Transfers from Malé are compulsory and never included, even on all-inclusive. Booking.com puts the seaplane at $340 each way per adult and $240 per child aged 2 to 11, and the domestic flight with speedboat at $290 and $210; the official site prints no rates and leaves them to the reservations office.

  • The 2 plans differ mostly over alcohol. Soft All-Inclusive covers meals and selected soft drinks; All-Inclusive adds selected alcoholic drinks and 2 beers a day in the minibar. On both, drinks are served at meals and at the Juju Bar from 9am to midnight, and cannot be taken back to the villa.

  • Anything outside the plan carries 10% service and 17% tax: the spa, yoga, padel, excursions and snorkel gear hire.

  • The beach varies from villa to villa. In front of some beach villas erosion has left little sand: between 2020 and 2024 several guests describe sandbags laid to protect the shore. Loungers sit outside the beach villas and round the pool.

  • Anyone who wants to walk into the sea from the sand should book a beach villa: the water villas have steps down to the lagoon, and there is coral underneath. The Wi-Fi out there is weaker than in the public areas.

Questions before you go

The questions people ask before booking Kudafushi, answered from sources read between 3 and 7 October 2026.

What kind of resort is Kudafushi?

A 5-star resort, as Google Hotels rates it, on an island in Raa Atoll that the official website calls its «Tiny Island». Rooms on the website are sold all-inclusive, in 2 versions, and the resort pitches itself to couples, families and divers; the site belongs to Kudafushi S.p.a., and the Italian tour operator Turisanda keeps its own guest service on the island, named by many guests.

The website gives neither the number of villas nor an opening date. Tripadvisor counts 107 rooms and still calls it «brand new»; Google reviews begin in December 2016, and a 2024 guest writes that it was built in 2017. In 2025 several guests mentioned bungalows being renovated.

Which villas can you choose, and how big are they?

5 types, according to the villas page. On the beach there is the 92 m² Beach Villa, with a bathtub and an outdoor shower, and the 102 m² pool villa, whose garden runs down to the lagoon. Over the water are the 75 m² Water Villa and the 85 m² one with a pool, both with steps into the lagoon.

The 325 m² Presidential Suite joins 2 water villas and a pool suite around a shared living room. Every villa has a queen bed and a sofa bed and sleeps 2 adults and 2 children, or 3 adults; families can take one of 2 pairs of interconnecting beach villas. On 6 October, for the night of the 7th, Agoda asked $443 for the Water Villa and Booking.com $459 for the beach villa with pool.

Where is it, and is the island quiet?

On Kudafushi island in Raa Atoll, north of Malé, as the contact page gives it; flights also go to Ifuru’s domestic airport, 25 minutes away by speedboat. Guests describe it as small and easy to walk round, and the water villas stand on a walkway in the lagoon.

Those who have stayed find it quiet even when it is full. There is something on every evening: live music on Sundays, cocktails on Tuesdays, karaoke on Wednesdays, a DJ on Thursdays and bodu beru on Saturdays.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the transfer cost?

By seaplane, 45 minutes as the official website estimates it, since the airline is independent, or by a 30-minute domestic flight to Ifuru and 25 minutes by speedboat. The transfer is compulsory and arranged by the reservations office, which publishes no prices on the website.

Booking.com lists them each way: the seaplane $340 for anyone 12 or over and $240 for children aged 2 to 11, the domestic flight with speedboat $290 and $210, free under 2. A return seaplane therefore costs an adult $680.

Can you drive there or park?

No: Kudafushi is an island, reached only by seaplane or speedboat, with no roads and no cars. Google lists parking among its amenities, but no official page mentions it, and on the island there is no need for it.

How do you get into the sea?

Every villa has its own way in: from the beach villas you step off the terrace onto the sand, from the pool villas through the garden, and from the water villas down the steps straight into the lagoon.

The sand is not the same everywhere. Guests in 2020 and 2024 found sandbags against erosion and little beach in front of some villas; the water villas sit over coral, with steps down to the lagoon.

Is there a house reef you can swim to?

Yes: the reef surrounds the island, and the resort offers snorkelling «right off the resort», as the experiences page puts it. Guests reach it a few metres out from the beach and meet turtles, blacktip sharks, eagle rays, morays and octopus.

The dive centre’s price list charges $15 for the guided tour, $30 for night snorkelling and $50 for a house reef dive, plus service and tax. Mask, snorkel and fins are not part of all-inclusive.

What pools are there?

The shared pool is the Juju Bar’s infinity pool by the sea, with loungers on the deck, as the restaurants page shows. Booking.com counts 2 pools; the official pages name only one, and none mentions a children’s pool.

3 of the 5 villa types have a private pool: the beach villa with pool, the water villa with pool and the Presidential Suite.

Is the pool heated, and when is it open?

No source read says it is heated, or gives the pool’s hours. The Juju Bar around it opens at 9am; all-inclusive drinks are served until midnight and charged after that.

Where do you eat, and until when?

At De’ North, the main buffet restaurant, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a theme every evening and Maldivian food on Saturdays. Olive Me, on the east beach, serves Mediterranean food and pizza from 7.30 to 10pm, and Sea Edge Asian food from 7.45 to 10pm, according to the restaurants page. The spa page still calls Sea Edge Mexican, as a May 2025 guest remembers it.

Dress is casual everywhere, and swimwear is fine at the Juju Bar. You can dine in the villa or on the beach, from $150 a couple plus service and tax for the romantic dinner. There is no underwater restaurant on the island.

What meal plans are there, and what do they include?

2, and you take one or the other. Soft All-Inclusive covers breakfast, lunch and dinner at De’ North, selected soft drinks, afternoon tea, a minibar with soft drinks and water, the kids’ club, the gym, tennis and non-motorised water sports except the catamaran. All-Inclusive adds selected alcoholic drinks and 2 beers a day in the minibar.

On both, drinks apply at meals and at the Juju Bar from 9am to midnight; the plan starts at 2pm on arrival day and ends at noon on departure. À la carte restaurants are charged on both plans, according to both plan PDFs, All-Inclusive and Soft All-Inclusive, read on 15 October 2026. On the website both FAQ links open the Soft plan; the All-Inclusive one sits on the restaurants page.

What is the spa like?

K-Spa sits at the centre of the resort, with 8 couples’ rooms, 2 single rooms and a room for manicures and pedicures, according to the spa page. It has a shared sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, a relaxation lounge and a product shop; its floor area is not published.

In 2025 and 2026 many guests praise the therapists.

Is the spa included, is it paid, and can outside guests use it?

It is paid: treatments sit outside both plans, and even the sauna and steam room cost $35 for 30 minutes according to the spa menu, plus 10% service and 17% tax. No page publishes a day pass for anyone not staying on the island, which is reached only by seaplane or boat.

Children under 16 cannot use the spa’s facilities or services, according to the spa page, edited by the hotel on 14 September 2026 and read on 15 October 2026.

What are the spa’s hours?

10am to 8pm daily, as the spa page and the menu say. Bookings go through the spa reception or extension 505; cancelling with less than 6 hours’ notice costs half the treatment, a no-show the whole of it. In-villa treatments run from 11am to 6pm, from 50 minutes, at 25% more.

Which treatments does it offer, and at what prices?

The spa menu runs from a 50-minute Balinese massage at $75 to the young-coconut signature massage, 80 minutes for $110 or 110 minutes for $130. There is a 50-minute 4-hand massage at $145, abhyanga, bamboo and hot stones.

For couples, Couple’s Delight lasts 80 minutes and costs $185, Couple’s Retreat 140 minutes and $335; the white-sand ritual on the beach runs only from 4 to 5.30pm. Every price carries 10% service and 17% tax on top.

Is it good for children?

Yes, and children of every age are welcome. The Little Bubbles Club is free from 3 to 12, open 9am to 6pm with a theme for each day, from pirates to a Maldivian day; under-3s stay with an adult or a babysitter, at $15 an hour per child at the club and $25 after 6pm, plus service and tax.

From age 8 there is Bubblemaker, a first dive to 2 metres, at $100 plus service and tax; from 10 a discover scuba dive. Booking.com charges children as adults from 12.

What is there on the island besides the villas?

The Leisure House, with a floodlit tennis court, football, billiards, table tennis, table football and a library; the gym, free at any hour; and padel, from $12 a head an hour for 4, according to the padel price list. There are also the yoga pavilion, the dive centre on the south jetty, a water sports centre and a boutique.

A doctor is on call around the clock, and several guests mention a reception you can reach on WhatsApp. Wi-Fi is free everywhere, though slower in the water villas.

What offers are there?

The pages read on 7 October 2026 have no offers section; the villas page promises better rates for booking direct, without figures. There are paid packages: lovers’ surprises from $30, proposals from $150 to $200, photo shoots from $130 and a floating breakfast at $75 or $100 a couple, as the breakfast menu says.

Booking.com adds a bottle and a fruit basket on arrival for honeymoon bookings. In October 2025 a Russian guest wrote that on the island you can move from Soft to full All-Inclusive for $70 a day for 2.

Can you marry at Kudafushi?

Yes, with a symbolic ceremony on the beach: the wedding price list has 4 packages for the couple alone, to be booked at least 3 days ahead. Simply I Do costs $1,000 and Gold $3,500, taxes and service included.

All of them include the cake, sparkling wine, bodu beru drumming, a symbolic certificate, a 5-course dinner on the beach and photographs; the dearer ones add the spa, a romantic breakfast and a sunset cruise. The pages give no capacity for private events with guests.

Is there a New Year’s Eve dinner?

Yes, and it is compulsory according to Booking.com: anyone staying between 24 and 31 December pays on the island for the gala dinners of 24 and 31 December, at a price it does not state. The official pages read on 3 and 7 October 2026 publish no festive programme.

On Google Hotels the festive nights are the dearest: $1,004 on 28 December and $1,004 on the 30th, against $413 on 10 December, while the calendar showed no price for 31 December or 1 January. A guest from Taiwan remembers Christmas Eve as the high point of the trip.

Can you play golf?

No: there is no course on the island, and the pages read offer no golf packages. The sports are tennis, padel, football and those on the water.

When is it open, and when is the best time to go?

It is open all year: the pages show no seasonal closure, and the website points out that you can dive in the Maldives in any season. The Google Hotels calendar read on 6 October 2026 had prices up to 31 January 2027.

When to go depends on the weather more than the resort: in October 2025 one couple had 2 days of rain out of 7, and another, the same month, had sunshine. The dearest nights fall between Christmas and Epiphany.

How much is a night?

Google Hotels, on 6 October 2026, for 2 adults and one night, taxes and fees included: $377 on 7 October 2026, $344 on 13 October and $360 on 31 October, both in the calendar’s first month, $489 on 16 November, $407 on 10 December, $554 on 24 December, $2,810 on 28 December, $1,114 on 30 December, $984 on 2 January 2027, $718 on 12 January and $755 on 20 January.

Of the 117 nights from 7 October 2026 to 31 January 2027, 98 had a price, from $344 on the nights nearest the reading up to $2,810; for the other 19, 31 December and 1 January among them, the calendar showed none, which does not tell you whether the island was full. The figure is the lowest among the sellers and names neither villa nor plan: the official site was not among them, and the transfers are paid separately.

What do the reviews say?

On 6 October 2026 Google showed 4.8/5 from 1,160 ratings, Tripadvisor on 3 October 4.8/5 from 1,876, with a Travellers’ Choice 2026 award, and Booking.com 9.2/10 from 154. Google Places, on the same 3 October, counted 1,159 ratings.

In the latest 500 Google reviews the recurring praise is for staff who remember names, the reef with its turtles, cleaning twice a day and the buffet’s pasta. The transfers and extras come on top of the rate; the villas are being renovated a few at a time and, in front of some beach villas, there are sandbags against erosion.

What taxes and charges are added?

Both all-inclusive plans include service and tax, according to the official PDFs; everything else, from the spa to the excursions, carries 10% service and 17% tourism GST. Google Hotels’ prices, for the Maldives market, include taxes and fees.

The official pages read do not mention the Green Tax, which is $12 per person per night at resorts since 1 January 2025, children under 2 exempt (MIRA, read on 15 October 2026); a 2020 guest paid it on departure although the booking had shown it as included. The seaplane or domestic flight is always extra.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 2pm and check-out by noon, according to Google Hotels and Booking.com, matching the all-inclusive plan, which starts and ends at those hours. On arrival you show ID and the card used to book, on which the resort makes a one-cent test charge; meals for late departures are charged.
