Families who want room for children can choose a villa with a separate kids’ room; the lowest price any seller showed on Google was $860 for one night for 2 adults. For a horizon without a capital and passing ships, choose a more distant island.

MIDI from above: the infinity pool and its loungers, parasols, palms and the white beach.
  1. The villa to request

I would ask for the Premium Overwater Pool Villa for its sunset ocean view: 125 m², a private pool and a deck with a hammock, with room for 2 adults and a child.

  2. The less expensive week

Read on 12 October 2026, the nights from 11 to 17 November cost $860–$861 each for 2 adults on Google; the dearest priced night was 31 December, at $2,138.

  3. A dinner paid separately

The Symphony of Flavors teppanyaki menu costs $85 per person, plus 10% service and government taxes; this menu sits outside the Premium All-Inclusive package, so allow for a separate dinner bill.

  4. The gym before breakfast

The fitness centre is open 24 hours and included, so a workout need not cut into the beach day; tennis and pickleball courts are included too.

What dusitD2 Feydhoo is

At dusitD2 Feydhoo almost everything is paid for before you leave home: the 7-minute speedboat from Velana airport is on the rate, with meals in 5 restaurants, drinks from 10am to 1am, the minibar and $20 of credit per person per night. Villas run from the Beach Villa’s 77 m² to 306 m² for the overwater suites, and every type bar the Beach Villa has its own pool.

It is built for families: a Kids’ Club for ages 2 to 12, a Teens’ Club with pool tables and video games, children under 12 eating free, villas with a separate children’s room and a residence with a slide into its pool. In the 500 most recent Google reviews, from November 2025 to October 2026, 96% of guests who mention the staff and service speak well of them. Outside the rate are the spa, the private boat at $180 plus tax each way, and the Green Tax, which the website does not quantify.

Here the Maldives come with a capital on the horizon. From many villas and the overwater bars you see Malé’s skyline, its port and the ships; under the decks, meanwhile, many guests describe nurse sharks, rays and small sharks. Anyone picturing the deserted atoll of the postcards will need a seaplane and a different resort.

In the Lumina Guide

Lumina Guide 2027

At 7 minutes by speedboat from Malé airport, dusitD2 Feydhoo puts 5 restaurants, drinks and the kids’ and teens’ clubs in the rate, and gives 7 of its 8 villa types a private pool.

What makes it rare

A badge is an experience travellers look for, that is really here and that few hotels in the guide have.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do dusitD2 Feydhoo’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write about the 7-minute speedboat ride from the airport, the lagoon, and the nurse sharks and rays that swim under the villas.

  2. Room

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The villas are new, and guests describe the space, how clean they are and the private pool, which 7 of the 8 types have; many write about the overwater villas.

  3. Staff and service

Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Many guests name the waiters one by one, and with them the buggy drivers, the lifeguards and the dive centre’s instructors; requests are sent through the resort’s app.

  4. Breakfast

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is the buffet at Baraveli, from 7am to 10am: guests describe its variety and the waiters who look after them every morning.

  5. Price

7 in 10 guests who mention the price find it fair. With all-inclusive, they write, the bill is something you stop thinking about once you are on the island.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 2 November 2025 to 3 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay near Malé: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 6 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against near Malé:

Good to know before you book

  • The website quotes rates with «++», meaning service and taxes on top; on extras the all-inclusive sheet gives 10% service and 17% government tax, and the website does not publish the Green Tax. Source: dusit.com

  • You can see Malé. The island is 7 minutes by speedboat from the capital, and from many villas and several spots on the island guests describe the skyline, the port, cargo ships and, at night, the city lights. The website’s virtual tour labels one of the Overwater Pool Villas «city view»; the Premium Overwater Pool Villa is sold on its open ocean view, on the sunset side.

  • Namm Spa’s sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are closed for scheduled works: the wellness page said so on 3 October 2026 and again on 6 October, with no reopening date. Google Hotels and Booking.com still list them.

  • BŌ, the overwater restaurant, is included one evening for every 4 nights; any other visit, and any visit on a stay of 3 nights or fewer, costs $45 plus tax a head, and teppanyaki is always extra. BŌ closes on Tuesdays, SOI on Saturdays.

  • On 31 December every restaurant and bar closes for the gala dinner on SOI’s beach, which is compulsory: Booking.com, read on 3 October 2026, charges $500 per adult and $250 per child over 12, taxes included, paid at the resort. The official festive brochure sets out the programme but gives no price.

  • The shared speedboat runs at set times. Guests writing between December 2025 and September 2026 put the runs about 2 hours apart: anyone who lands or checks out between 2 of them waits, at the airport or in the departure lounge. A private boat costs $180 plus tax each way, $300 return.

  • One way of getting about the island is by buggy, booked on the app on the hour or the half-hour. Between November 2025 and June 2026, 5 Google reviews describe booked buggies turning up late or not at all.

8 nights with 2 small children

In August 2026 a family with 2 young children describe 8 untroubled nights: the Kids’ Club open from 10am to 6pm, where you drop in and out as you please, the gym, the pool and snorkelling from the beach, with nurse sharks and a wreck at the edge of the reef that draws the bigger fish.

4 nights in a Beach Pool Villa

In September 2026, 2 parents with 2 young children, 4 nights in a Beach Pool Villa, landed at 5.30pm and set off at 7.15pm: the boat runs roughly every 2 hours. The villa was new and private, the children’s room tiny; Cocoon was the best restaurant, BŌ the letdown, and the children had a single menu of 4 or 5 dishes.

The skyline did not bother her

In September 2026 a Korean guest on honeymoon could see Malé’s skyline and plenty of ships without minding, and found the island quiet. Her advice: book every dinner on the first day, pack mosquito repellent and snorkel in front of the water villas, where the sea is calm; at night small sharks circle under Cocoon and BŌ.

The view from the water villa

In April 2026 a Japanese honeymoon couple, 4 nights in a water villa, found a breakwater in front of them instead of the blue of the photographs. They praise the housekeeping, the minibar refilled daily and MIDI; less so the buggies called on the app that never came, and 6 hours in the lounge before the 5.30pm boat.

Ships and lights on the horizon

In July 2026 a guest rates the resort for its staff, its diving and the 10-minute boat from Malé that saves a seaplane. The drawbacks: a view spoilt by ships and Malé’s lights, and paths with little shade, because a new resort’s greenery has yet to grow.

The view from the villa’s pool

In February 2026 a couple of keen snorkellers gave one star: from their villa’s pool they faced cargo and construction vessels, factories and Malé’s skyline, and found almost nothing underwater. They also fault a lunch menu of 3 à la carte dishes and a bout of food poisoning after the Maldivian buffet.

Before you book

What people ask before booking dusitD2 Feydhoo, with the sources read between 3 and 6 October 2026.

What kind of resort is dusitD2 Feydhoo Maldives?

A premium all-inclusive resort from Thailand’s Dusit group, under its dusitD2 brand, which the website pitches at a new generation, on a natural island of its own, Feydhoo Finolhu, in North Malé Atoll. The homepage counts 127 beach and overwater villas, suites and residences, 5 restaurants and Namm Spa; Google Hotels, Tripadvisor and Expedia rate it 5-star. The group’s other Maldives property is Dusit Thani Maldives.

It is new: the website calls it newly open without giving a date, the first videos of it online date from May and June 2025, the official channel posted its first film on 30 August 2025, and Google reviews describe stays from August 2025.

Which villas are there, and how big are they?

8 types, on the villa pages. On the beach: the Beach Villa, 77 m² for 2 adults and 2 children, with king or twin beds and a connecting door to a second villa, the only type without a pool; the Beach Pool Villa with Kids Room, 115 m², with a children’s room, a pool and an open-air bathroom; the Two-Bedroom Garden Residence, 191 m² in the garden for 4 adults and 2 children, with a kitchen, a washing machine and a pool with a slide. Over the water: the Waterfront Pool Villa, 140 m² on the sunrise side, the Overwater Pool Villa and the Premium Overwater Pool Villa, 125 m² each, the latter facing the sunset, all with a pool, a bathtub and a hammock over the lagoon, for 3 adults or 2 adults and a child; and the Two Bedroom Overwater Pool Suite and Four Bedroom Family Suite, 306 m², for 6 and 8 guests.

The website does not say how many villas there are of each type. The Four Bedroom Family Suite’s page has «two-bedroom» in its address, its text describes 2 main bedrooms and 2 single children’s rooms, the homepage one main bedroom and a children’s room, and Booking.com calls it the 4 Bedroom Overwater Pool Family Suite.

Where is it, and how quiet is the island?

On Feydhoo Finolhu, an island in North Malé Atoll 7 minutes by speedboat from Velana airport, according to the Getting here page. Booking.com puts it 2.9 miles from central Malé and wrongly places it «in Male City». The address on the Google listing, 6F6M+8JQ, Malé 27188, is a location code: the resort has an island to itself.

The capital is in view: guests in 2026 write of Malé’s skyline, the port, cargo ships and the city lights at night. Nights on the island are quiet, and the website promises DJs and live music every evening at MIDI and Cocoon.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the speedboat cost?

By speedboat, 7 minutes from Velana airport, included in every rate along with an airport welcome, according to the Getting here page and the all-inclusive benefits page. Once booked, you send your flight details and the resort places you on one of its shared boats, which leave at set times; Booking.com says they run daily from 9am. A private boat for up to 12 costs $180 plus tax each way and $300 return on the website, $150 and $250 on Booking.com, with 24 hours’ notice. The website’s offers include a private one-way transfer for guests in the 2-bedroom villas.

Guests writing between December 2025 and September 2026 put the boats about 2 hours apart: anyone who lands between 2 runs waits at the airport. After check-out the wait is in the departure lounge, which has showers and changing rooms. Going into Malé independently cost one guest $180 in August 2026.

Can you arrive by car or park?

No: it is an island, reached only by speedboat. The Google Hotels listing shows free parking and an airport shuttle at extra charge, and is wrong on both counts: no page of the resort mentions parking, and the shared speedboat is included in the rate, as the Getting here page says.

How do you get into the sea?

From the overwater villas straight off the deck into the lagoon, from the beach villas across the sand, as the villa pages describe. Masks, fins and non-motorised water sports are included, and the lifeguard, one guest wrote in March 2026, keeps an eye on who is in the water.

The sea changes from one side of the island to the other: in September 2026 one guest recommended snorkelling in front of the water villas, where it is calmer than on the far side; in July a family in a water villa took the children to the beach, away from the deep water under the deck.

Is there a reef you can swim to?

Yes. The dive centre, Silver Sands, a PADI 5-star centre, describes a lively house reef and a wreck a few minutes from the island; the homepage describes Feydhoo Cave, or Feydhoo Wall, a reef wall with reef sharks and eagle rays inside the resort’s lagoon. In 2026 many guests describe nurse sharks, rays and small sharks under the villas and, at night, around BŌ and Cocoon; in August a family found the reef easy from the beach even for children, with the wreck at its edge.

The reef is still that of an island 7 minutes from the airport and Malé: anyone choosing the Maldives mainly to snorkel from the villa will be happier on a more distant atoll, or goes out by boat with the dive centre, which runs trips to swim with nurse sharks.

What are the pools like?

MIDI’s infinity pool at the beach club, open from 8am to 6pm according to the MIDI page, and a children’s pool, as the homepage lists. 7 of the 8 villa types have a private pool: only the Beach Villa goes without, and the Two-Bedroom Garden Residence’s has a slide. The website gives no sizes.

MIDI is the island’s beach club, and the website promises DJs and live music there every evening.

Are the pools heated, and when are they open?

MIDI’s pool opens from 8am to 6pm, according to the MIDI page. The website does not say whether the main pool or the villa pools are heated, nor to what temperature. Namm Spa’s jacuzzi was closed for works in October 2026.

Where do you eat, and until when?

In 5 restaurants, all on the rate, as the dining page explains: a buffet at breakfast, and at lunch and dinner a buffet or a 3-course à la carte menu, all courses in the same restaurant. Baraveli serves breakfast from 7 to 10am and dinner from 7 to 10pm, with a different theme each night: barbecue, Indian and South-East Asian, world cuisines on Wednesdays, seafood on Thursdays, the 26 Atolls Maldivian night on Fridays, Arabian on Saturdays. MIDI, Mediterranean on the beach with a rooftop bar, opens from 10am to midnight, with lunch from 12 to 3pm and dinner from 7 to 10pm. SOI, the Thai restaurant, serves lunch from 12 to 4pm and dinner from 7 to 10pm and closes on Saturdays. Cocoon, over the water, does tapas at lunch from 12 to 3pm, tea from 4 to 5pm and dinner from 6.30 to 9pm. BŌ, Asian with teppanyaki, serves dinner from 6.30 to 10pm and closes on Tuesdays.

BŌ is included one evening for every 4 nights; other visits cost $45 plus tax a head, and teppanyaki is extra. Drinks, from the house wine to the cocktails, are served from 10am to 1am according to the all-inclusive sheet, which also lists house champagne. Shisha at Cocoon is extra. Guests advise booking dinners on the app on the first day; Baraveli, BŌ and SOI have air-conditioned rooms.

What does the all-inclusive cover?

Every rate on the website is Premium All-Inclusive, says the homepage: the shared return speedboat, dine-around meals, drinks, snorkelling gear, non-motorised water sports and $20 of resort credit per person per night. The April 2026 inclusions sheet adds the buffet breakfast and dinner, 3-course à la carte lunch and dinner, snacks and afternoon tea, wine and cocktails by the glass, the children’s and teens’ clubs, tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball and the gym. The benefits start at check-in at 2pm and end at check-out at noon.

The minibar is refilled daily with wine, beer and snacks, and with spirits once per stay, according to the terms of the April 2026 sheet; the resort credit is USD 20 per adult per day, and unused credit rolls over, according to the benefits page, both read on 15 October 2026; the sheet excludes group bookings. Left out: BŌ after the first evening, teppanyaki, shisha, the spa, diving and excursions.

What is the spa like?

Namm Spa combines Thai techniques with Maldivian touches and modern recovery treatments. The homepage mentions a single treatment room and couples’ rooms, with foot and Thai massage; every room has its own changing area and shower. The rituals use a sauna, a steam room and a cold plunge, but on 3 and 6 October 2026 the spa page warned that the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were closed for scheduled works, with no reopening date. The website gives neither the spa’s size nor its number of rooms.

Is the spa included, is there a charge, and can non-residents use it?

Treatments are paid for, at the prices on the spa page plus 10% service and tax. The all-inclusive credit, $20 per person per night, can be spent at the spa, and booking direct on the Saver Offer adds 30 minutes to a 30- or 60-minute massage. A treatment cancelled less than 3 hours ahead is charged in full.

The website publishes no spa day pass for anyone not staying on the island. The one offer for outside guests is Xcess D2, for residents and work-permit holders in the Maldives: it covers breakfast and dinner, and the spa is left out. A private boat from Malé costs $180 plus tax each way.

What are the spa’s hours?

Namm Spa opens daily from 10am to 10pm, according to the spa page; you book by email or phone with its reception and arrive 15 minutes early. Under-15s come with a parent. MIDI’s pool opens from 8am to 6pm, the gym round the clock.

Which treatments are offered, and at what price?

From the spa page, plus 10% service and tax: Thai Herbal Recharge and Maldivian Ocean Flow, 90 minutes, $230; the Energy Flow, Performance Recovery, Sunset Serenity, Pure Detox and Thai Stretch massages, $180 for 60 minutes and $230 for 90; facials from $180 to $200; for couples the Connected Ritual, 120 minutes for $420, and the Island Couple’s Escape or Ruhgandu Couples Retreat, 150 minutes for $570; Family Time Spa, 90 minutes for $320, and the children’s Little Stars rituals at $80 or $100. The Dhonveli Drift Recovery Ritual, 120 minutes for $270, includes the sauna and steam room, which were closed in October 2026.

Is it good for children?

Yes, it is one of its strengths. The all-inclusive sheet lets up to 2 children aged 2 to 12 stay, eat and play free, with a children’s menu and baby food on request; the Kids’ Club, for ages 2 to 12, has indoor and outdoor play and trampolines, the Teens’ Club pool tables, video games and music. A babysitter costs $30 plus tax an hour from 10am to 5pm and $50 after 6pm. There are villas with a children’s room, connecting villas and a residence with a slide.

On children’s ages the pages give 2 figures. The Saver Offer gives free stays to children up to 11, the sheet up to 12; on Booking.com an extra bed costs $150 a night for ages 12 to 16 and $225 from 17. In August 2026 a family found the Kids’ Club open from 10am to 6pm, drop in and out.

What is on the island besides the villas?

According to the homepage: 5 restaurants and bars, Namm Spa, MIDI’s pool with its rooftop bar and the children’s pool, the Kids’ and Teens’ Clubs, a 24-hour gym, a tennis court and a pickleball court, beach volleyball, yoga, the PADI 5-star dive centre and the water sports centre, a boutique, a photo studio, laundry, an on-call doctor and the departure lounge with showers and a library. Wi-Fi is free across the island.

You get about on foot, by bicycle or by buggy, booked on the app on the hour or the half-hour. Drones and pets are not allowed. For meetings there is Feydhoo Hall, 390 m² with no pillars, for 240 at dinner or 300 theatre-style, and a 55 m² room, on the events page.

What offers are there?

Read on 6 October 2026 on the offers page: the Saver Offer, up to 4 nights for stays until December 2026, with up to 5% off and a further 15% for Dusit Gold members, from $575 plus service and tax; More Space, More Family Moments, for the 2- and 4-bedroom villas, from $800 plus service and tax; and the Maldivian locals and residents offer, from $490 net. Booking direct brings a floating breakfast in the pool villas, an extra 30 minutes of massage and a guided tour of Malé; the Premium and 2-bedroom villas add bicycles, and the 2-bedroom villas a private one-way speedboat.

Among the paid experiences is Finolhu Dhathuru, a day on a sandbank with a barbecue and champagne: $250 plus service and tax a head in a group, $2,200 private.

Can you get married at dusitD2 Feydhoo?

Yes. The weddings page offers a Thai ceremony with the water-pouring ritual, a Maldivian one with boduberu drums, Indian and Western weddings, vow renewals and ceremonies to order. The venues: Feydhoo Finolhu Hall, indoors, 390 m² and air-conditioned, for up to 240; the beach, up to 100; the lawns and open-air spaces, up to 150. Package prices are not published.

The events page gives starting prices for gala dinners: $150 a head for non-residents, $120 for residents and $75 for a cocktail party; a 3-hour drinks package starts at $45 or $25 a head. The website does not say whether a ceremony held on the island is legally binding.

Is there a New Year’s Eve dinner?

Yes, and it is compulsory. On 31 December 2026 the gala dinner takes place on SOI’s beach from 8pm to 12.30am, according to the 2026–27 festive brochure: an international buffet until 11pm, live cooking, premium drinks, a saxophonist, a live band, stage shows, the countdown and a DJ until 2am. Every restaurant and bar is closed that evening. Booking.com, read on 3 October 2026, charges $500 per adult and $250 per child over 12, taxes included, paid at the resort; the brochure gives no price.

The festive programme opens on 10 December with the tree lighting and runs through Christmas Eve dinner at Baraveli, Santa on the beach on the 25th, Seafood, Sax & Champagne on 28 December at MIDI at $175 net a head, New Year’s Day lunch and Orthodox Christmas Eve on 6 January. On Google Hotels, read on 12 October 2026, the night of 31 December is the dearest in the calendar: $2,138 for 2.

Can you play golf?

No: neither the homepage nor the all-inclusive sheet mentions golf. On the island there are tennis, pickleball, paddle tennis, beach volleyball and a gym, all included.

When is it open, and when is the best time to go?

All year: the website announces no seasonal closure, the Saver Offer runs for stays until December 2026 and the family offer has no end date. On Google Hotels, read on 3 October 2026, there were prices for 115 of the 120 nights from 4 October 2026 to 31 January 2027; 7 and 8 December, 15 and 16 December and 12 January showed none, which tells you nothing either way. The first Google reviews to describe a stay date from August 2025.

The website names no best season. Guests describe sunshine in mid-September 2026 with brief showers, and in August 2026 8 days of almost constant rain.

How much is a night?

Google Hotels, read on 3 October 2026, for 2 adults and one night, taxes and fees included: $870 on 7 October 2026, $1,534 on 23 October, $756 on 3 November, $1,012 on 1 December, $594 on 17 December, $2,346 on 31 December and $1,504 on 31 January 2027. There were no prices for 7 and 8 December, 15 and 16 December or 12 January. These are dated prices for individual nights: the $756 and $594 observations do not set the starting price for consecutive nights. In the reading of 12 October 2026, the lowest bookable run was 11–18 November 2026, with each night at $860–$861 for 2 adults.

These figures already include tax: for 4 October the official website’s rate on the same listing carried a booking link whose total matched the price shown, about 24% of it tax. The website says every one of its rates includes meals, drinks and the shared speedboat; Google’s calendar does not say which villa. The 31 December gala dinner is extra.

What do the reviews say?

On 3 October 2026 Google showed 4.9/5 from 633 ratings, Tripadvisor 4.9/5 from 1,022, with a Travelers’ Choice award and first place in Feydhoofinolhu, where it is the only hotel, Booking.com 9.4/10 from 295 and Expedia 9.6/10 from 95. In the 500 most recent Google reviews, November 2025 to October 2026, the staff and service please 96% of those who mention them, the villas 89%, breakfast 87% and the location 82%. Few guests write about value: some are glad to stop thinking about the bill, while others mention extras outside the rate, such as the private boat to Malé and the Green Tax at check-out.

Praise goes to the 7 minutes from the airport, the lagoon with nurse sharks under the villas, the new villas with their private pools and the waiters, often thanked by name. The reviews also come back to the view of Malé and the ships, waits for the buggy booked on the app and the set times of the shared speedboat.

Which taxes and charges are added?

The website quotes rates with «++», meaning service and taxes on top, as with the Saver Offer from $575. For extras the all-inclusive sheet gives 10% service and 17% government tax, the spa 10% service and prevailing taxes. The website does not publish the Green Tax: in November 2025 a guest who had booked through Agoda was charged $72 for it at check-out.

Google Hotels prices for the Maldives market, on the other hand, include taxes and fees: for 4 October 2026 the official website showed $948 on Google, $230 of it tax. The resort takes Visa, Amex and Mastercard; Booking.com asks for a bank transfer before arrival and accepts US dollar notes issued from 2013 onwards.

What time can you check in and out?

Check-in is at 2pm and check-out at noon, according to the homepage; the all-inclusive keeps the same hours, and anyone wanting the benefits earlier or later pays a supplement, warns Booking.com. The villa pages offer late check-out on request. In November 2025 a couple reached their villa after 3pm, and in April 2026 another, leaving on the 5.30pm boat, spent about 6 hours in the departure lounge.
