A room and a good dinner would bring me here: the Deluxe Terrace Room has its own outdoor space, ORSINI serves Italian food, and a night for 2 starts at CHF 710 in March 2027. If the plan revolves around a pool and spa, I would choose another address.

Like a regular

The illuminated Savoy façade on Paradeplatz at dusk
  1. The room to request

For 2 I would ask for a courtyard Deluxe Room: 33–42 m², armchairs and a walk-in shower, choosing its position before booking because those in the Orsini wing are reached exclusively by stairs.

  2. March before choosing dates

Individual nights from 26 to 28 March 2027 run from CHF 710 to CHF 732; 21 November 2026 reaches CHF 7,207, the dearest night in the calendar.

  3. Bringing your dog

For a dog, budget CHF 50 per room per night, including day use: the maximum shoulder height is 60 cm, and dogs are not allowed inside the restaurants and bars, something to arrange around when planning meals.

  4. The entrance for dinner

For ORSINI, use the separate entrance on Waaggasse: dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday and children are welcome from 8 years old, worth bearing in mind before planning the evening.

What the Savoy is

A courtyard-facing Superior Double has 21–30 m²; a Deluxe offers 33–42 m² and a choice of courtyard or city views. For a few days for 2, the Deluxe would be my starting point. A Corner Suite with Balcony is the step up I would consider for its Paradeplatz and Bahnhofstrasse outlook.

Wood, marble and shades of green and blue run through the rooms. In the historic Orsini wing, access matters as much as the interiors: the Orsini and Münsterhof suites, and Deluxe rooms located in that wing, are reached by stairs.

For the evening, I would book Italian dinner at ORSINI, through its separate Waaggasse entrance, or settle by the Mandarin Lounge fireplace. The 1838 rooftop stays closed until May 2027, so an autumn or winter visit belongs to the indoor restaurants and bars.

Bahnhofstrasse can wait. At Mandarin Oriental Savoy I would settle down for Japanese afternoon tea by the fireplace, with Paradeplatz just outside.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Mandarin Oriental Savoy’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests appreciate being close to the shops and well placed to explore central Zurich.

  2. Room

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests praise the interiors and comfort; some find the rooms small.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Concierge help draws praise; some accounts dispute the allocation of beds and connecting rooms.

  4. Breakfast

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Morning coffee draws praise; some accounts find the buffet limited in variety.

374 guests said so on Google, from 21 December 2023 to 18 October 2026. Reviews include overnight stays and restaurant and bar visits; the retrieved accounts begin on 21 December 2023, after the reopening. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Zurich: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 19 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Zurich:

Price: for 2, the night of 26 March 2027, from 710 CHF on Google Hotels on 19 October 2026.

What a night costs, season by season

From 1 May to 14 September 2027, a night ranges from CHF 834 to CHF 1,771. For a longer break I would look at 21–27 February 2027, with individual nights from CHF 675 to CHF 822.

The lowest seller on Google Hotels for one night searched alone, 2 adults, with no room or meals named; the calendar stops at 14 September 2027, which is not the end of the season. A lone low night on 29 March 2027 costs CHF 631.

Mandarin Oriental Savoy or Widder Hotel

At Savoy I would choose Japanese tea by the fireplace, with Paradeplatz just outside. I would go to Widder for the Historic Junior Suite’s frescoes and its medieval Old Town houses.

The lowest Google Hotels price for one individual night for 2 during 23–29 November 2026. Mandarin Oriental Savoy prices read on 19 October 2026 and Widder prices on 18 October 2026.

Before you ask

What kind of hotel is Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich?

The Savoy is a 5-star Superior hotel on Paradeplatz. There are 80 rooms and suites, with interiors by Tristan Auer. It opened under Mandarin Oriental on 20 December 2023; UBS owns the hotel and Mandarin Oriental manages it.123

How much does a night at Mandarin Oriental Savoy cost?

Google Hotels, read on 19 October 2026 for 2 adults, showed CHF 827 for 16 November 2026, CHF 959 for 14 December 2026 and CHF 842 for 12 January 2027. Each is one individual night searched alone, with no room or meals named. Confirm the tax basis in the selected rate.1

Which room would you choose?

For 2 people I would start with a 33–42 m² Deluxe, choosing a courtyard or city outlook. Superior Doubles have 21–30 m²; the 23 m² Superior Single accommodates one guest. Terrace categories and the Corner Suite with Balcony add outdoor space.12345

Which suites work for families?

The 99 m² 2-Bedroom Family Suite joins a Corner Suite with Balcony to a Junior Terrace Suite for up to 4 guests. Larger parties can look at the 284 m² 4-Bedroom Penthouse Suite for up to 10, or the 252 m² 6-Bedroom Royal Suite for up to 13. Book by the full category name: these are specific connecting arrangements.123

Is there a spa, and which wellness services are complimentary?

There is no on-site spa centre; wellness here takes the form of treatments in your room or an event venue. Appointments are booked from 8 am to 10 pm. A relaxing massage costs CHF 240 for 60 minutes or CHF 360 for 90; a separate treatment room adds CHF 250, or CHF 500 for a suite, subject to availability. The 60-minute group yoga, Pilates and functional-training classes are complimentary and booked through the concierge. The gym opens 24 hours.12

Is there a swimming pool?

No. Wellness here centres on the gym and in-room treatments. For a trip built around swimming and a spa circuit, I would choose another hotel.123

Where would you go for dinner?

I would reserve an evening for ORSINI, the Italian restaurant reached through its own Waaggasse entrance. Dinner runs Tuesday–Saturday, 6:30–8:30 pm; lunch Wednesday–Friday, noon–1:30 pm. Savoy Brasserie & Bar takes a more informal route through international dishes and Swiss favourites such as Zürcher Geschnetzeltes.12

When is breakfast served, and what does it cost?

Breakfast is served 7–10:30 am at Savoy Brasserie & Bar. The CHF 55 buffet includes one à-la-carte dish and 8.1% VAT; each additional dish costs CHF 18. Some packages include breakfast, including Short & Suite, so choose the rate accordingly.123

Is the 1838 rooftop open?

The 1838 rooftop is seasonally closed until May 2027. Its terrace looks over the city and mountains, with Asian plates and cocktails. Payments are by card or room charge. I would plan a winter stay around the indoor bars and restaurants.1

Where would you have afternoon tea?

I would settle by the Mandarin Lounge fireplace. Afternoon tea runs from October to May, including a Japanese version; the lounge also serves cocktails and light bites.1

Can I bring a dog?

Dogs are welcome up to 60 cm at the shoulder, for CHF 50 per room per night, including day-use stays. They may accompany you in the hotel but cannot enter indoor food and beverage outlets.12

Can every suite be reached without stairs?

The Orsini Suite and Münsterhof Suite are reached exclusively by stairs. Deluxe rooms in the Orsini wing also require stairs. The Superior Double Room and Junior Suite have accessible versions; choose the layout that meets your needs.123456

Is valet parking available?

Valet service is available, parking carries a charge, and electric-car charging points are listed.1

Is an airport transfer available?

An airport transfer is available for a charge. The hotel is at Poststrasse 12 on Paradeplatz.12

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in runs from 3 pm until midnight; check-out is before noon.1

Is the minibar included?

The minibar is complimentary, and in-room Wi-Fi is free.12

Are cots and extra beds available?

Cots are available free on request; extra beds cost CHF 150 per night. The selected category’s occupancy limit still applies: the Family Suite accommodates up to 4.12

Can you hold a wedding or meeting here?

Yes. The 157 m² Ballsaal accommodates 80 for a banquet, or up to 160 in theatre or reception layouts. Other venues have their own capacities. For a family or corporate Christmas gathering, Christmas Gathering costs CHF 197 per person: an aperitif with snacks, a seasonal 4-course menu, a Christmas bakery treat and table decorations. This is the price of that package, separate from a wedding quotation.123

Which offers would you consider?

One More Night adds a complimentary night to a booking of 3 or 4 consecutive nights, depending on the period. Short & Suite includes breakfast for up to 2 guests. Availability and offer conditions depend on the dates.12

How would you plan a New Year stay?

Unfolding Wonders covers 15 November 2026–10 January 2027, with a minimum 2-night stay, breakfast for 2 and a USD 200 dining credit per stay. For 31 December 2026, ORSINI offers a 7-course menu at CHF 470 per person, with an optional wine pairing at CHF 195. The evening includes live music and entertainment; a vegetarian menu is also available.123

What do guests say?

Guests repeatedly mention the location, concierge help and breakfast. The listing also includes restaurant meals, drinks and bar visits, so I would distinguish those accounts from overnight stays.1
