  1. The weeks that cost less

In the calendar read on 12 October 2026 the lowest week is 21 to 27 June 2027, from $525 to $531 a night. The dearest, 9 to 15 February 2027, runs from $859 to $1,030.

  2. On top of the rate

On Booking.com, read on 4 October 2026, the shared seaplane is $540 per adult aged 12 and over and $340 per child aged 2 to 11, return; the fare and the Green Tax are settled with the resort, outside the room rate.

  3. A host on WhatsApp

3 guests who wrote between January and July 2026 describe a staff member they could reach on WhatsApp for any request: a dedicated chat group, or a personal contact answering whenever needed.

What Noku is

Noku Maldives has Kuda Funafaru to itself, an island in Noonu Atoll north of Malé: 30 villas over the water and 20 on the beach, from the smallest at 175 m² to a 2-bedroom villa of 400 m². It belongs to Roxy-Pacific Holdings, a Singapore group with its own Noku brand, and joined IHG’s Vignette Collection in December 2024 after a refurbishment.

People come for the space and the calm. All 80 Google reviews with text written since December 2024 give 5 stars, and all 75 guests who mention the staff praise them: a personal host on WhatsApp, a wide beach, about 50 guests on the island by one couple’s count in September 2026. The reef, with its sharks, rays and turtles, comes closest on the sunset side, beneath the water villas.

The rest falls on the bill. The shared seaplane costs $540 per adult return, according to Booking.com; the spa and excursions carry a 10% service charge and 17% GST; and the gala dinners on 24 and 31 December are compulsory, at $300 and $600 per adult.

In the Lumina Guide

Lumina Guide 2027

Noku Maldives has a Noonu Atoll island to itself and shares it among just 50 villas of 175 to 400 m², each the size of a house; guests remember its staff person by person.

How we choose the hotels

Our reading, point by point

What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.

  1. Location

An island with only the resort on it, 45 minutes by seaplane; the best reef is on the sunset side.

  2. Character

50 villas spread well apart, a bonfire with bodu beru drums and the Maldivian House; never a crowd.

  3. Rooms

175 to 400 m², with freestanding tubs and outdoor bathrooms; private pools only in some types.

  4. Food and social life

Palms on the beach and Thari by the pool, often with table service; only 2 restaurants.

  5. Wellness

6 double treatment rooms in a garden and yoga in the pavilion; no sauna or steam listed, prices plus tax.

  6. The stay as a whole

Google: $605 to $963 a night for 2, taxes included, between October 2026 and January 2027.

What makes it rare

A badge is an experience travellers look for, that is really here and that few hotels in the guide have.

  • True quiet

Here: 50 villas set well apart: the quietest are on the sunset side, while the sunrise ones watch the seaplanes land.

74 of the 76 guests who write about the quiet are pleased. 14 hotels of 335 hold it.

  • They read your mind

Here: a personal host answers on WhatsApp and sends the day’s programme every morning; around the island staff greet guests by name, and for a birthday they run a bubble bath.

What the badges are

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Noku’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

Every guest who mentions it is happy with it. The beach is wide, with fine sand, and the island is quiet, with few guests; turtles and sharks are seen from the shore and from the villa decks.

  2. Room

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of huge, spotless villas with an outdoor bathroom and, in some types, a private pool, on the beach and over the water alike.

  3. Staff and service

Every guest who mentions it is happy with it. A personal host is reachable on WhatsApp; staff greet guests by name and arrange touches for birthdays and honeymoons.

  4. Breakfast

Breakfast is at Palms, on the beach, a buffet with dishes the chefs cook to order; guests also tell of the floating breakfast served in the villa’s pool.

  5. Price

Guests who write well of the bill point to the size of the villa for what they paid; the seaplane, and the service charge and tax on extras, come on top of the rate.

The scores come from 80 Google reviews with text, left from 17 December 2024 to 3 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Noonu Atoll: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 7 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Noonu Atoll:

Price: for two on the night of 3 September 2027, from $477 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).

What a night costs, season by season

On Google, single nights for 2 adults run from $598 to $1,110 between 13 October 2026 and 10 January 2027, from $738 to $1,030 until 31 March 2027, from $589 to $684 in April 2027 and from $477 to $620 from 1 May to 6 September 2027; 29 October and 23 December to 9 January have no price. I would start with the week of 21 to 27 June 2027, at $525 to $531 a night, and ask the hotel about the nights with no price.

The reef off the shore

The house reef is home to clownfish, reef sharks, rays and turtles, and the dive centre has 34 dive sites within reach of the island. A guest wrote in September 2026 that from the east beach it is a 10 to 15 minute swim to the real reef, and that the best snorkelling is to the west, behind the water villas.

The Maldivian House and the bonfire

A full-size Maldivian house holds the objects of island life, and in the evening Island Echoes tells local myths around the bonfire to the beat of bodu beru drums. Guests also recall tea at the Maldivian House, films on the beach and the fisherman who brings his catch to the jetty on Wednesdays.

Good to know before you book

  • The reef depends on the side. To the west, on the sunset side, the water villas sit above the reef and you can snorkel from the deck; from the east beach the reef is a longer swim, and the seaplanes land on that side.

  • The shared seaplane costs $540 per adult and $340 per child aged 2 to 11, return, plus Green Tax, settled with the resort, according to Booking.com. It flies only in daylight: land in Malé after 3pm and you spend the night there. The official site does not publish the fare.

  • On 24 and 31 December the gala dinner is compulsory: $300 per adult on Christmas Eve and $600 on New Year’s Eve, half that for children aged 2 to 11, according to Booking.com.

  • Official price lists, such as the spa’s, add a 10% service charge and 17% GST, and the official booking engine’s rates exclude tax; Google Hotels prices for the Maldives include it.

  • Wi-Fi is free.

Which side to swim from

In September 2026 a guest in a beach villa found fine sand and no coral near the shore on the east side, though the seaplanes land close by; the real reef is a 10 to 15 minute swim, and the best snorkelling is to the west, behind the water villas. Masks, snorkels and fins are lent free.

A silver wedding

In September 2026 a couple marked their silver wedding with 8 nights in a water villa: the welcome in Malé, the lounge while they waited for the seaplane, the welcome at the jetty. They counted about 50 guests on the island and found the villa and the public areas clean and well kept.

Sunrise or sunset

In January 2025 a honeymoon couple described their villa on the sunset side as quiet, with the reef right in front; those on the sunrise side are a spectacle when the seaplanes land, but could grow noisy. They recommend the all-inclusive plan: outside it, fine wines, massages and jet skis are very expensive.

Questions before you go

The questions people ask before booking Noku, answered from sources read between 3 and 6 October 2026.

What kind of resort is Noku Maldives?

A 5-star resort, as Google Hotels and Tripadvisor class it, with 50 villas on Kuda Funafaru, an island in Noonu Atoll with nothing else on it. It is owned by Roxy-Pacific Holdings, a Singapore group with its own Noku brand, and since December 2024, after a refurbishment, it has been part of IHG’s Vignette Collection, as IHG’s release of 28 August 2024 says.

The Noku Hotels press page carries one article saying the resort opened in 2018 and another, from 2016, announcing it for 2017; a guest in 2025 remembers it as Zitahli. IHG gives the island almost 90,000 m² of land; a guest in March 2026 put it at about 175,000.

Which villas can you choose, and how big are they?

The official booking engine, read on 6 October 2026 for 10 November, lists 9 types. Over the water: 2 lagoon-view villas of 186 m², with a king bed or 2 singles, and 2 with a private pool of 190 m², facing the ocean or the sunset. On the beach: 3 villas of 175 m², with a lagoon view or on the beachfront, one of 220 m² with a pool on the sunset side, and a 2-bedroom villa of 400 m².

All have a sitting area, a freestanding tub and a separate shower, a deck with a daybed and an included minibar. The official page counts 30 water villas and 20 beach villas, from 175 to 400 m², and says most have a private pool, while the engine lists one in only 3 types; a tenth listing, «Villa», has no details.

Where is it, and is the island quiet?

On Kuda Funafaru, in Noonu Atoll north of Malé: 45 minutes by seaplane, according to the transport page. The resort is the only thing on the island, and Maafaru airport is about 13 km away, according to Tripadvisor.

It is very quiet: 50 villas spread well apart, 2 restaurants and 2 bars, live music at Palms in the evening. On the east side, where the sunrise villas are, the seaplanes land, in daylight hours only; anyone who would rather not hear them should pick a villa on the sunset side.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the seaplane cost?

By seaplane from Velana airport, 45 minutes: the transport page calls it the only way, flying in daylight and booked at least 3 days ahead, while IHG’s release also gives a 40-minute flight to Maafaru and 15 minutes by speedboat. Booking.com puts the shared seaplane at $540 per adult and $340 per child aged 2 to 11, return, free under 2, plus Green Tax.

The official site does not publish the fare. Arrive in Malé after 3pm and you spend the night there and fly the next day, and a departure before 9am may mean leaving the island the evening before; Expedia asks for flight details 7 days ahead and gives flights from 9am to 3pm. In Malé a resort representative meets guests and takes them to the seaplane lounge.

Can you arrive by car or park?

No: Noku is on an island reached only by seaplane or, according to IHG, by domestic flight and speedboat, and there are no roads. The Google Hotels listing puts «Parking» among its amenities and the transport page has an empty «Parking» heading; no source describes parking on the island.

How do you get into the sea?

From the beach and from the water villas, each with direct access to the lagoon, according to the official page. On the east side a guest in September 2026 found fine sand and no coral near the shore, so no need for reef shoes, though the seaplanes land close by.

On the west, sunset side, the water villas are the closest to the reef and you can snorkel from the deck, guests wrote in 2025 and 2026.

Is there a house reef you can swim to?

Yes. The destination page says the reef starts just off the beach, with clownfish, anemones and triggerfish, and that the dive centre takes every level, with 34 dive sites nearby for grey reef sharks, rays, barracuda and turtles; the resort also runs guided snorkelling with turtles.

The distance depends on the side: from the east beach, a guest wrote in September 2026, it is a 10 to 15 minute swim to the real reef, while from the water villas on the west you step straight in. 2 guests, in March and September 2026, were lent masks, snorkels and fins free for the whole stay.

What pools are there?

One shared outdoor pool beside Thari, facing the ocean, where drinks and lunch come to your lounger, according to the amenities page. Then the private pools: the booking engine lists them in the two 190 m² water villas and the 220 m² beach villa, and the 2-bedroom villa’s photograph shows one.

The site gives no dimensions for the shared pool. Several guests describe a floating breakfast in their villa pool.

Is the pool heated, and when is it open?

The shared pool is open from 7am to 7pm, according to the amenities page. No source read gives its temperature or mentions heating, and the villa pools have no hours.

Where do you eat, and until when?

According to the dining page: Palms, on the beach, with international cooking and Maldivian seafood, breakfast from 7 to 10.30am, lunch from 12.30 to 2.30pm and dinner from 6.30 to 10pm, part buffet and part à la carte, with a band most evenings; Thari, by the pool, lunch and dinner at the same hours, on an Asian menu that changes often. Palms Bar opens from 10am to midnight, Thari Bar from 10am to 10pm, and room service runs round the clock.

Thari cooks from Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives, according to the hotel’s official page, read on 15 October 2026; its dining page sums it up as Pan-Asian. When the island is quiet, meals are served at the table rather than from a buffet, 2 guests wrote in 2025 and 2026, and the chefs cook dishes on request; private dinners on the beach are also offered.

What meal plans are there, and what do they include?

On the official booking engine, read on 6 October 2026 for 10 November: rates with breakfast and a half-board rate, with breakfast and a 3-course dinner from a set menu or buffet in a designated restaurant, for one or two adults; room service is extra. Expedia adds that breakfast covers 2 adults per room.

Google Hotels also lists all-inclusive, which the official pages read do not describe. A guest on it in March 2026 describes both restaurants with no limits on the menus, a few limits on drinks and a minibar restocked daily with soft drinks, water, beer and wine; a guest in 2025 notes that room service is not included. Google’s line «Meals are included» holds, on the rates read, only for breakfast.

What is the spa like?

Funa Spa sits in a tropical garden, with 6 double rooms for Asian-rooted treatments using natural ingredients and yoga in a pavilion overlooking the ocean, according to the official page; its photograph shows a room opening onto a small pool. The site does not give its size.

No official source read mentions a sauna, a steam room or a jacuzzi. The spa menu, dated December 2025, calls it Noku Spa, keeps it free of phones and smoke and offers treatments for expectant mothers.

Is the spa included, does it cost extra, and can non-residents use it?

Treatments are paid for: the menu lists them plus a 10% service charge and 17% GST. No official page publishes spa access included in the rate or a day pass for people not staying on the island, which has only the resort on it and is reached by seaplane or speedboat.

What are the spa’s opening hours?

From 9am to 9pm every day, with the last treatment at 8pm, according to the menu and the amenities page. You book through the operator, ideally in advance; the menu asks you to arrive up to 30 minutes early for the health questionnaire, and charges 50% for cancellations with less than 4 hours’ notice and the full price for no-shows.

Which treatments does it offer, and at what prices?

From the menu, prices plus a 10% service charge and 17% GST: the Noku Signature Massage and the Thai and Balinese massages at $140 for 60 minutes and $170 for 90, the Jetlag Massage at $140, foot reflexology at $70 for 30 minutes, and the 2-hour Kashi Noku Signature Journey for 2, with a coconut scrub and wrap, at $380 per couple.

There are also scrubs and wraps from $110, 2 facials at $135 and $150, manicures and pedicures at $40 and $90, and sunrise or sunset yoga at $50 a person, $70 for a private class of 2 or more.

Can you go with children?

Yes: according to Booking.com children of all ages are welcome and there is no minimum age, a cot up to 2 years is free on request and an extra bed from 12 years costs $175 a night; the same page also says cots and extra beds are not available, and Expedia lists free extra beds and no cots. The 400 m² 2-bedroom villa has a king bed and 2 singles.

Expedia sets 18 as the minimum age to check in. There is no kids’ club, a family wrote on Tripadvisor in August 2026, but the resort ran workshops and games for children every day; the official gallery shows children’s activities. On the seaplane children aged 2 to 11 pay $340, and half the adult price at the gala dinners.

What is on the island besides the villas?

According to the official page and the amenities page: 2 restaurants and 2 bars, the pool, the spa, an air-conditioned gym, the dive centre and water sports, with kayaking, windsurfing and jet skis, the Maldivian House and, IHG says, a shop. You get around by bicycle or by buggy on call.

Guests in 2025 and 2026 describe a programme of free activities sent every day on WhatsApp, with visits to nearby islands, yoga, films on the beach, tea at the Maldivian House and the bonfire with drums; Expedia mentions a vegetable garden, a guest an orchid garden. Tripadvisor says pets are allowed; Booking.com and Expedia say they are not.

What offers are there?

The official offers page, read on 3 October 2026, listed no priced offers. On the booking engine, on 6 October for 10 November, the pay-in-advance rate cost less than the flexible one, both with breakfast, IHG One Rewards members had a discount and you could also pay with 6,000 points; there was a half-board rate too.

The site publishes no honeymoon package; several honeymoon couples in 2025 and 2026 describe flowers on the bed, a decorated bath and a beach dinner offered by the resort.

Can you get married at Noku?

The official site publishes no weddings: the address of the weddings page, on 6 October 2026, led back to the resort’s main page, with no packages, prices or capacities. Among Booking.com’s photographs is a table laid on the beach for a wedding, and a honeymoon couple in 2022 recalls watching another couple’s wedding, before the refurbishment.

For couples celebrating a wedding or an anniversary, guests in 2025 and 2026 describe a romantic dinner on the beach and a decorated villa.

Is there a New Year’s Eve dinner?

Yes, and it is compulsory: according to Booking.com the gala dinner on 31 December 2026 costs $600 per adult and $300 per child aged 2 to 11, and the Christmas Eve dinner $300 and $150, paid on arrival or in advance. The official site publishes no menu or programme.
