Sun Siyam Iru Fushi suits families and couples who want a large island: a kids’ club for ages 3 to 11, an adults-only pool and one night taken alone from $472 for 2 on Google in November 2026. Anyone wanting a bill settled in advance will be happier elsewhere: villa rates exclude GST, a 10% service charge and a green tax, and the seaplane is extra.

The bedroom of a Water Villa with Pool: the bed facing the deck, the timber ceiling and the glass doors open to the sea.
  1. The villa to ask for

I would ask for the Deluxe Beach Villa with Pool: 192 m² with a private pool on the beach side and a cabana, for 3 adults and a child. 2 returning guests stayed in one, and a guest writing in September 2023 found it beautiful.

  2. The week to consider

In the cheapest week, 24–30 November 2026, one night taken alone is $472 on Google, read 12 October 2026. Booked together as 7 nights from 16 November, the lowest seller asked $661 a night; the resort’s own listing, $758.

  3. The seaplane, on top

The seaplane is $515 per adult and $310 per child, return, for arrivals from 1 November 2026; until 31 October it is $490 and $295. It flies from 6am to 4pm, with a latest check-in of 3.30pm.

  4. Sundowners at Reflections

Reflections, the adults-only pool bar, is open from 8am to 10.30pm, with meals from 11am to 4.30pm, and the resort itself calls it the perfect sundowner spot.

What Iru Fushi is

Iru Fushi is the resort Sun Siyam files under its Luxury Collection: 52 acres in Noonu Atoll, 45 minutes by seaplane north of Malé, with 221 villas in 11 types. The factsheet counts 140 on land, from the 192 m² Beach Villa with Pool to the 698 m² Celebrity Retreat, and 81 over the water, and gives every type a private pool. Tripadvisor still lists the name it had before, Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort.

The island is laid out for 2 kinds of guest. Families have the Koamas Kidz Club for ages 3 to 11, a teens’ club from 12 to 16, a main pool with a children’s area and, on the Kids Stay and Eat Free offer, 2 children under 15 staying and eating free. Couples have the adults-only infinity pool beside Reflections bar, the adults-only Beach Club and Flavours, French, over the water. In the latest 500 Google reviews, July 2023 to October 2026, 96% of those who mention the staff and services are positive, and 95% of those who mention the location.

Since 2025 guests have described a refurbishment in stages: those in the water villas since February 2026 describe them as newly refurbished. In the beach villas several mention mosquitoes and sandflies: pack repellent. Excursions and à la carte prices carry 10% service charge and 17% GST, and the seaplane is extra unless a 7-night stay qualifies for the free-transfer offer.

One Lume

Lumina Guide 2027

Gives more than the other hotels of its place and price range.

Iru Fushi keeps families and couples on the same 52-acre island: a kids’ club for ages 3 to 11, an adults-only infinity pool and a private pool at each of its 221 villas.

How Lumi are awarded
  • Guests (exceptional)

500 reviews read: the staff and service please more than 9 guests in 10 who mention them, the location more than 9 in 10.

  • Ours

In the resort’s own pages we counted 11 villa types, from 123 to 698 m², 15 venues from Iru’s buffet to Flavours over the lagoon, and a Thalgo spa with more than 165 treatments and an Ayurvedic doctor.

Those who come back

Among the hotel’s regulars, 2 say it improved between stays: one after 11 years, since the Hilton days, and one after less than a year. A family, writing in December 2022 after a second stay of 3 weeks, calls it a paradise for families with babies and children. The longest habit is a ninth stay, with the same butler as before.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 2 July 2023 to 3 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Noonu Atoll: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 6 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

A family in a refurbished water villa

In September 2026 a family in 2 newly refurbished Sunset Horizon Water Villas found room for 3 adults in one and 2 adults and 2 children in the other, with a huge bathroom and a deck with a pool and direct access to the ocean; on the all-inclusive, the food never felt compromised.

Questions before you go

The questions people ask before booking Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, answered from sources read between 3 and 6 October 2026.

What kind of resort is Sun Siyam Iru Fushi?

A 5-star resort of 221 villas on its own 52-acre island in Noonu Atoll, the resort Sun Siyam Resorts files under its Luxury Collection; the group’s official site also lists Siyam World, Iru Veli, Olhuveli, Vilu Reef and Pasikudah in Sri Lanka. Its factsheet counts 15 restaurants and bars, a Thalgo spa with over 165 treatments and a dive centre.

Tripadvisor still lists its former name, Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort, and Booking.com’s address carries it too. Tripadvisor also files it under «Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi»; today the hotel is Sun Siyam’s, and no official page mentions Hilton.

Which villas can you choose and how big are they?

11 types, all with a private pool, according to the accommodation page and the factsheet. On the beach: Beach Villa with Pool, 192 m², 24 villas; Deluxe Beach Villa with Pool, 192 m², 99; Family Deluxe Beach Villa with Pool, 206 m², 10; Private Pool Beach Villa, 200 m², 5. Over the water: Water Villa with Pool, 123 m², 40; Horizon Water Villa with Pool, 129 m², 16; Sunset Horizon Water Villa with Pool, 129 m², 19; Infinity Water Villa, 174 m², 5.

3 retreats, one of each: the Aqua Retreat over the water, 408 m², and the Hidden Retreat in the garden, 277 m², both with 2 bedrooms for up to 6; the Celebrity Retreat, 698 m² on 2 floors with 3 bedrooms for up to 10. 2 pages give other sizes in their text: 155 m² for the Infinity Water Villa and 600 m² for the Celebrity Retreat. Guests since February 2026 describe the water villas as newly refurbished: for a new villa, book there.

Where is it, and how quiet is the island?

In Noonu Atoll, north of Malé, 45 minutes by seaplane from Velana airport, according to the destination page. The Google listing gives the address as Medhafushi; its sister resort Siyam World is in the same atoll.

The island is large for the Maldives, 52 acres, with a wooded interior crossed by paths and buggies to get about. Guests describe it as calm despite 221 villas: in February 2026 a couple never found the beaches crowded. You call a buggy when you need one; the villas do not come with bicycles, 2 guests noted in December 2025 and January 2026.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the seaplane cost?

By the resort’s seaplane from Velana airport, about 45 minutes, flying from 6am to 4pm, with the latest check-in at 3.30pm, according to the destination page. A return trip costs $490 per adult and $295 per child aged 2 to 11.99 for arrivals until 31 October 2026, and $515 and $310 from 1 November 2026; a private seaplane costs $8,890 net each way. The transfer must be booked through the resort, with 20 kg of checked luggage and 5 kg of hand luggage each.

The free-transfer offer covers 2 guests staying at least 7 nights, not between 26 December 2026 and 10 January 2027, according to Booking.com; the Oktoberfest offer halves the fare for 2 adults from 4 nights. Before the flight you wait in the seaplane lounge, which has drinks, snacks and showers, according to the factsheet.

Can you arrive by car or park?

No: it is an island reached only by seaplane, and no page of the resort names a car park. Google Hotels lists «parking» among the amenities, which does not apply to an island with no roads; guests move about by buggy.

How do you get into the sea?

From the beach, which runs round the island, and from the decks of the 81 water villas, which guests describe with direct access to the lagoon. The beach villas open on to the sand; the Private Pool Beach Villa’s terrace leads straight to the shore.

Guests praise the sand as soft and the water as calm: in August 2026 a honeymoon couple found the sea below their water villa the most beautiful spot on the island.

Is there a reef you can swim to?

Yes. The destination page places the house reef «steps from your beach villa» and a short swim from the water villas, with the Nemo Garden beside it, and the official site calls it the «Nemo house reef». A marine biologist leads conservation snorkels; the all-inclusive includes snorkelling gear and one guided snorkel at Nemo Park.

Guests in 2026 describe sharks, turtles and rays seen from their decks, and in July 2026 one guest found the Nemo house reef right for beginners with a mask and fins. The seabed drops away quickly and the best stretch is often choppy, a family noted in August 2026.

What pools are there?

Every villa has its own, from 14 to 79 m², according to the factsheet. Shared, there is a main pool with a children’s area beside Fluid, and an adults-only infinity pool, for 16 and over, beside Reflections; the Koamas Kidz Club has its own pool, 1.07 m deep.

Are the pools heated, and when are they open?

The site gives neither heating nor temperature, nor the pools’ own hours. The bars beside them do publish theirs: Fluid, by the main pool, from 8am to 6pm, and Reflections, by the adults-only pool, from 8am to 10.30pm. The villa pools are the guests’ own at any hour.

Where do you eat, and until what time?

15 venues, according to the factsheet. Restaurants: Iru, buffet, 6.30 to 10.30am, 12.30 to 2.30pm and 6.30 to 10pm; Bamboo, Southeast Asian on the beach, lunch and dinner; Flavours, French over the water, dinner; The Trio, Italian on stilts, dinner, booking required; Taste of India, dinner; Islander’s Grill, seafood on the sand, lunch and dinner; Teppanyaki, with sushi; the Spa Café and La Cremeria.

Bars: Waters Edge, open around the clock, No Mistake on the beach until midnight, Reflections, Fluid, Bubble Lounge for champagne over the water, The Cellar on request and the adults-only Beach Club. Google Hotels counts 8 restaurants and 4 bars. Every à la carte dinner must be booked, in the resort’s app or through the butler; in 2026 guests single out Taste of India, Bamboo, The Trio and Islander’s Grill.

What meal plans are there, and what do they include?

4, according to the meal plan valid from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2027: breakfast at Iru; half board, adding dinner at Iru or 3 courses at Bamboo, Flavours, Taste of India or The Trio, and Islander’s Grill with 50% off its food; full board, adding lunch at Iru, Bamboo, Fluid or Reflections; and the 24-Hour Premium All-Inclusive Dine Around.

The all-inclusive adds premium drinks at every bar and restaurant, Waters Edge around the clock, over 66 wines by the glass, the minibar refilled daily with soft drinks, beer and wine, ice cream at La Cremeria, snorkelling gear, a sunset cruise and a local-island trip once each, an hour of catamaran or windsurfing and one of kayak or paddle board per villa each day, $50 of spa credit per adult and 24-hour butler service.
