Safari Island Maldives, on Mushimas Migili in North Ari Atoll: 84 traditional bungalows on the beach and over the water, with a house reef a short swim from the sand, about 25 minutes from Malé by seaplane.
Safari Island Maldives suits days in the water and quiet evenings; one night for 2 adults starts at $317 on 24–27 June 2027, the lowest any seller showed on Google. Anyone who wants a new villa or entertainment after dark should look elsewhere.

I would ask for a Beach Bungalow: a beach room of 45 m² with an en suite bathroom and a full glass door opening onto a private wooden deck with seating.
The weeks that cost less
Consider 24 to 27 June 2027: a night for 2 adults cost $317 to $332 on Google, read 12 October 2026. The dearest week, 18 to 24 January 2027, ran from $583 to $593.
What comes on top
The seaplane is $430 net per adult, return, and $215 per child. Rates include 10% service and 17% GST, and the Green Tax of $12 per person per night is charged on top; full board costs $33 more per adult per night.
The Palm Bar happy hour
The Palm Bar, which floats in the lagoon next to the main restaurant, runs a daily happy hour from 6pm to 7.30pm with 20% off all drinks.
What Safari Island is
All 84 rooms are bungalows, of 3 kinds. The 30 Beach Bungalows measure 45 m², with a veranda facing the sand; the 15 Semi-Water and 39 Water Bungalows measure 65 m², with a glass-bottomed coffee table and their own way into the lagoon. None takes more than 3 people. A review published in August 2022 describes a four-poster bed in water villa169; a guest writing in August 2026 reports renovation under way. Source
JoyDive, the dive centre, marks 4 entry points on the reef and gives a briefing. A guest in February 2025 describes always taking the same route: in from the beach, along the reef with the current, out by a ladder at the water bungalows. Guests find reef sharks at the bungalow steps, 10 to 15 blacktips a day past one water bungalow in December 2023, and nurse sharks under the restaurant (May 2022, November 2023). Views of the coral differ. Many guests between 2021 and 2025 describe it as bleached or broken. 4 reviews from 2022 to 2024 praise the reef, some mentioning intact or colourful coral; 2 in 2026 describe plentiful, living coral. Source · Guest reviews
The Safari boat is booked separately from the room, priced by the length of the trip and the number aboard, and goes out when the weather and availability allow. Guests describe a dhoni sailing with its own crew, trips to the manta points and nights on board; from 2019 to 2025 more than one calls it a highlight of the holiday. A guest in August 2022 describes 2-day trips for up to 3 people to whale-shark sites and outlying islands, some of them uninhabited. Source · Guest reviews
Meals are buffets at Lagoon, the restaurant over the water; 3 guests, between 2023 and 2026, rate dinner above breakfast. Half board comes with the packages: per adult per night, full board costs $33 more, half board Plus $51 and all-inclusive $74, plus 10% service and 17% TGST. On half board and full board, water at table goes on the bill, guests wrote between 2023 and 2026. The Christmas and New Year dinners are compulsory and charged apart, at $200 per adult for each, plus service and tax. Source · Source · Guest reviews
Duny Thai, the spa, is reached along a jetty over the lagoon; the pool, shared by the whole island, sits among the palms. A guest in October 2025 reports $102 for 50 minutes of Thai massage. After dinner the island is quiet: 4 guests between 2019 and 2025 report no evening entertainment, one in January 2025 came out of dinner to a crab race, and one in July 2025 heard live music once a week and found the bar almost empty after 10pm. The scores come from 345 Google reviews with text, left from 12 July 2016 to 6 September 2026. 345 records selected by the native method, including 344 with visible text and one containing only markup, contributing nothing to the five figures. Accounts date from 2016 and do not all describe current conditions. Reethi Faru follows two stays; other comparisons have limited support or are proposed from similar reported behaviour without a direct guest comparison. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in the Maldives: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 6 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
Price: for two on the night of 26 June 2027, from $317 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).
What a night costs, season by season

The lagoon restaurant at dusk.
Lagoon, the restaurant, stands over the water beneath the domes that, a guest wrote in October 2024, mark the island out. Meals are buffets, half board comes with the packages, and 2 guests, in 2019 and 2025, kept the same table throughout their stay. The bars are Palm, Sun Down and the Pool Bar. Source · Source
The pool among the palms.
The pool is outdoors, among the palms, and shared by the whole island; the resort’s pages give neither its size nor its full hours. 2 guests in 2019 call it small, one in August 2022 freshwater, and one in June 2026 used it once in a 10-day stay. Source · Source
The Safari boat anchored in the lagoon.
The Safari boat is a separate booking, priced by the length of the trip and the number aboard. A guest in May 2021 lists private trips of half a day, a full day or overnight; one writing in August 2022 describes 2-day trips for up to 3 people. Source · Source
The island and jetty from above.
Mushimas Migili holds 84 bungalows, Beach, Semi-Water and Water. A guest in February 2023 describes its 2 sides: the lagoon, with the wooden boats, the sunset and the morning seaplanes, and the outer shore, with shallow water, the sunrise and the way onto the reef. Source · Source
Good to know before you book
The seaplane costs $430 net per adult, return, and $215 for children aged 2 to 11; under-twos travel free. A private charter is $3,300 each way. The Hotel Policy gives 6am to 3:15pm as the window for international arrivals and asks for flight details 72 hours ahead; the resort aims to keep the wait within 2 hours and does not promise it. Going home, it has you at the airport at least 3 hours before an international departure; Google lists noon check-out. Several reviews from 2022 to 2026 describe waits of 3 or 4 hours on departure; one reports leaving by boat for another island at 5:30pm after noon check-out, while another mentions check-out “7 hours before” without identifying the later event. The fare is quoted net, while the policy’s general rule adds service and tax, and it does not say which holds for the seaplane: ask for the final amount. Source
Packages include half board; per adult per night, full board costs $33 more, half board Plus $51 and all-inclusive $74, plus 10% service and 17% TGST. Children aged 2 to 11 pay half. The resort publishes no complete current list of what each plan covers; guests on half board and full board report paying for water at table (2023 to 2026), €4.50 for 1.5 litres for one of them in March 2025. The upgrade sheet valid from 1 November 2024 to 30 June 2025, with lower prices, has expired. Source · Source
With the JoyDive centre the reef entries are marked and divers get a briefing; excursions run according to the weather and the number of participants. Mantas, dolphins and turtles are a matter of luck. On the coral the accounts change with the year: bleached or broken for many guests between 2021 and 2025, while 4 reviews from 2022 to 2024 praise the reef, with some explicitly mentioning intact or colourful coral, one of whom calls the reef surprisingly intact, growing back for one in April 2024, alive in quantity for 2 in February and August 2026. Most of these guests describe the fish, between them reef sharks, rays, morays and turtles; one in August 2022 saw few. Source · Source
The Beach Bungalow is 45 m², Semi-Water and Water 65. All 3 sleep 3 people at most and have a separate bath and shower; the 2 on the water have a glass-bottomed coffee table and their own way into the lagoon. The Semi-Water Bungalow keeps its entrance on the land, which is what sets it apart from the Water Bungalow. Guests between 2022 and 2025 mention worn terrace boards and hard beds. Source
The nightly rate for 2 already includes 10% service and 17% TGST; Green Tax comes on top at $12 a person a night, $24 for a couple. Meal upgrades and the festive dinners are quoted before service and tax, and the seaplane fare is given net. On the spa, wedding and excursion sheets too, TGST is 17% since 1 July 2025 (MIRA, read on 15 October 2026). Google’s calendar does not say what its prices include. Source · Source
The seaplane comes down at a floating platform out at sea and a boat brings you in, as a guest described it in November 2025.
Transfer
Return by seaplane: $430 net per adult, $215 for children aged 2 to 11, free for under-twos; a private charter is $3,300 each way. The Hotel Policy asks for flight details 72 hours ahead, gives 6am to 3:15pm as the window for international arrivals and aims, without promising, to keep the wait within 2 hours. Bungalows are handed over at 2pm and given up at noon (Google Hotels); the resort has you at the airport at least 3 hours before an international departure, and a guest in December 2023 could have kept the room until 2pm for $64. Source
Location
Mushimas Migili is in North Ari Atoll, which Google’s address gives as Alif Alif. The seaplane flight is estimated at 25 minutes; guests’ own timings between 2019 and 2026 run from 15 to 35, and one in June 2024 took about 40 with a stop on the way. Source · Source
The observed price

The calendar names neither the bungalow nor the meal plan, and does not say whether taxes or the seaplane are counted.

Safari Island Maldives reviews
On 6 October 2026 Google showed 4.6/5 from 547 ratings. We read the 344 reviews that have a text, written between 12 July 2016 and 6 September 2026. 2 subjects recur: the staff, waiters and room attendants remembered by name, with bungalows tidied twice a day; and the reef, with sharks, rays and turtles a short swim from a small island where guests go barefoot. Also in them: sandfly bites, between 2022 and 2026, water charged at table on half board and full board, and bungalows with some years on them.
Read on 6 October 2026: the 344 reviews are among Google’s 547 ratings, and the resort had replied to 218 of the 547.
Lagoon is the restaurant, built over the water; a review published in August 2022 and headed 22 July 2022 notes that it is the only one. Meals are buffets, with wok dishes and pasta cooked to order and fresh fish that changes by the day, guests wrote in October 2024. The bars are Palm, Sun Down and the Pool Bar; in May 2022 a guest found Sun Down open only from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Half board comes with the packages; per adult per night, full board (FB) costs $33 more, half board Plus (HB Plus) $51 and all-inclusive (AI) $74, plus 10% service and 17% TGST. A sheet valid from 1 November 2024 to 30 June 2025 listed $23, $41 and $64, and has expired.
Duny Thai Massage, the spa, is reached along a jetty over the lagoon. Its menu runs to Thai, aroma, hot-stone and Swedish massage, reflexology, facials, scrubs and wraps. The spa’s page gives neither the number of treatment rooms nor its size. The price list its site links is undated, in a 2023 folder; a guest in October 2025 reports $102 for 50 minutes of Thai massage.
Google Hotels, on 6 October 2026, showed, for 2 adults for one night, $164 on 7 October 2026, $276 on 1 November 2026 and $406 on 24 December 2026; $164 was the lowest night on its calendar that day, a night days from the reading rather than a run a reader can book; on the 12 October reading the lowest bookable run starts at $317 on 24 to 27 June 2027. Safari Island is the island of Mushimas Migili, in North Ari Atoll, listed by Google Hotels as a 4-star hotel. It has 84 bungalows: 30 Beach, 15 Semi-Water and 39 Water. The Semi-Water Bungalows are entered from the land and open onto the lagoon; the Water Bungalows stand over the water. Guests go without shoes all over the island, at dinner too. 4 of them, between 2019 and 2025, found no evening entertainment; 2 in 2025 mention a crab race after dinner and live music once a week.
On 6 October 2026 Google showed 4.6/5 from 547 ratings; we read the 344 reviews that have a text, written between 12 July 2016 and 6 September 2026. Guests write of a small, quiet island with a white beach swept every day, of turtles, rays and reef sharks on the house reef, and of waiters and room attendants they remember by name; a honeymoon couple in June 2026 called Arrow, the island cat, the highlight of their trip. Sandfly bites recur between 2022 and 2026, and 2 guests, in December 2023 and July 2025, advise bringing repellent. Reviews from 2023 to 2026 report being charged for water at the table on half board or full board.
Yes: a symbolic ceremony, with no legal validity, for guests staying at least 3 nights. The package starts at $2,500 per wedding and leaves out the room, meals and the seaplane. The wedding page adds 10% service and TGST, 17% since 1 July 2025, as the Hotel Policy states (MIRA, read on 15 October 2026). The date and the setting are arranged in advance and depend on the weather. Cancelling within 20, 7 or 3 days costs 50%, 80% or 100%.
One shared outdoor pool, among the palms, with a bar beside it. The 3 bungalow pages mention no private pool. The resort’s pages give neither the pool’s size nor its full hours; 2 guests in 2019 call it small, and one in August 2022 freshwater.
Treatments at Duny Thai are paid for, singly or as packages; the resort’s page says nothing of free entry, a day pass or guests from other islands, nor of a minimum age or cancellation terms. 2 guests give prices: $80 a person for 50 minutes of Thai oil massage in December 2023, and $102 for 50 minutes of Thai massage in October 2025.
The Beach Bungalow is 45 m², with a veranda on the sand; the Semi-Water and Water Bungalows are 65 m², with a glass-bottomed coffee table and their own way into the lagoon. All 3 sleep 3 people at most and have a separate bath and shower. After that it is a question of distance and of which shore. From water villa 169 a guest counted more than 12,000 steps a day to the restaurant and back in a review published in August 2022 and headed 22 July 2022; one in February 2025 would take a Beach Bungalow next time, furnished the same, cheaper and nearer the table. A guest in February 2023 found the lagoon side tucked among palms, with the sunset, and the outer side more exposed, with the sunrise and the reef.
The pages of the site we read give no opening date and no full calendar of closures or works. Google has reviews from every year between 2016 and 2026, and on 6 October 2026 its calendar carried a price for every night to 31 January 2027. A guest in April 2026 was back after a first stay in 2014; one in August 2026 found renovation under way.
On Mushimas Migili in North Ari Atoll, which Google’s address gives as Alif Alif; the seaplane flight is estimated at 25 minutes, before any wait or stop. A guest in May 2025 wrote that no other island can be seen around it. On noise, a guest in February 2023 noted seaplanes taking off from the lagoon in the morning, a generator that can be heard in many places and some music at the bungalows nearest reception and the restaurant; one in water villa 169 heard the seaplanes at 6:30am in a review published in August 2022 and headed 22 July 2022.
The Christmas and New Year dinners are compulsory and charged on top of the room and of any meal upgrade: $200 per adult and $100 per child for each dinner, plus 10% service and 17% TGST. The Hotel Policy does not give the age at which the child’s price stops, and gives no menu for 31 December 2026.
A Beach Bungalow opens onto the sand, a Semi-Water Bungalow has the land behind and the water in front, and a Water Bungalow has steps down from its terrace. For the reef, JoyDive marks 4 entry points and gives a briefing. A guest in August 2026 describes getting onto it from the jetty behind the restaurant, by 3 passages from the shore and by the ladder at the water villas; one in November 2019 advised going after lunch, when the tide has covered the coral.
No: the resort’s activity pages list a gym, sports and watersports and mention no golf course, green fee or transfer to one. One guest mentions a tennis court and table tennis (June 2026), another beach volleyball (December 2023).
The Safari boat has a published tariff, by duration and number of passengers, subject to availability and weather. An old heading on the site is no promise of a free trip with 5 nights. Guests in 2019 describe a day on the dhoni included with a longer stay; one in May 2021 wrote that the free boat trips had ended, and another the next month found the day trip charged at $110 plus tax. For the room, the pages of the site we read give no promotional code or discount, and the prices on Google’s calendar are as listed, with nothing taken off.
The Duny Thai page gives no opening hours, minimum age or deadline for cancelling without charge. The hours the resort does give are the dive centre’s: 8am to noon and 2pm to 6pm.
The resort’s pages give no temperature or full hours for the shared outdoor pool, and the bungalow pages mention no private one. A guest snorkelling the reef noted 37°C in the air and 33°C in the water on 11 April 2026.
A gym, sports, watersports, the JoyDive centre and the Duny Thai spa, beside the restaurant, the bars and the pool. JoyDive gives every diver an orientation first; to dive with a buddy and no guide you need a certification for the depth, at least 30 logged dives and one within the last 18 months. A guest in December 2023 lists the gym, table tennis and beach volleyball as what there is to do on the island, with diving, snorkelling trips, excursions and massages as paid; one in September 2022 mentions a library with books in several languages. In the evening, a guest in July 2025 heard live music once a week and found the bar almost empty after 10pm.
The menu the site links lists Thai, aroma, hot-stone and Swedish massage alongside treatments for face and body. It is undated and sits in a 2023 folder, so take its prices as a guide; the tax is 17% since 1 July 2025, as the Hotel Policy states (MIRA, read on 15 October 2026). Guests give $80 a person for 50 minutes of Thai oil massage (December 2023) and $102 for 50 minutes of Thai massage (October 2025); one had 30% off on both visits in June 2026.
By seaplane, charged separately from the room: $430 net return per adult, $215 for children aged 2 to 11, free for under-twos; a private charter is $3,300 each way. Send your flight details 72 hours ahead; the Hotel Policy gives 6am to 3:15pm as the window for international arrivals and aims to keep the wait within 2 hours, without promising it. The flight is estimated at 25 minutes; guests’ own timings run from 15 to 35, and one in June 2024 took about 40 with a stop. Going home, the resort has you at the airport at least 3 hours before an international flight, and several reviews from 2022 to 2026 describe waits of 3 or 4 hours on departure. One reports a boat transfer to another island at 5:30pm after noon check-out; another mentions check-out “7 hours before”, without specifying the later event. The fare is quoted net, while the policy’s general rule adds service and tax, and it does not say which holds for the seaplane: ask for the final amount.
From both, when the water bungalow is on the reef side; a guest in one facing the sunset went in from the beach every time (February 2025). Off the beach the reef starts 20 metres out on the east side (a guest, February 2023) and 50 to 80 metres from the bungalows (another, October 2024); 2 guests in water bungalows snorkelled straight from their own steps (reviews published in August 2022, headed 22 July, and October 2024). It drops off steeply, which one guest in December 2023 thought unsuitable for beginners. JoyDive marks the entry points and gives a briefing. Many guests between 2021 and 2025 found the coral bleached or broken, 4 reviews from 2022 to 2024 praise the reef, some explicitly mentioning intact or colourful coral, and 2 in 2026 write of plenty alive; most of them describe the fish, between them sharks, rays and turtles, though one in August 2022 saw few.
Packages come with half board (HB). Per adult per night, full board (FB) costs $33 more, half board Plus (HB Plus) $51 and all-inclusive (AI) $74, plus 10% service and 17% TGST; children aged 2 to 11 pay half. The resort publishes no complete current list of what each plan covers, so the detail is the guests’. On half board and full board, water at table is charged (2023 to 2026), €4.50 for 1.5 litres for a guest in March 2025; 2 small bottles a day are left free in the room. Half board Plus covers all drinks, one wrote in September 2023. On all-inclusive, cappuccino (reviews of December 2023 and April 2024; the latter describes a March stay) and espresso (February 2026) are still extra, and you fill the fridge yourself from the bar (October 2023, November 2025). The upgrade sheet that expired on 30 June 2025 is no guide to 2026.
Each bungalow takes 3 people at most. Under-twos have their cot, meals and seaplane free; children aged 2 to under 12 (2–11.99 in the Hotel Policy) pay half the adult charges. The resort’s pages mention no kids’ club, no babysitting and no rule on children going about unaccompanied, and 2 guests, in August 2022 and October 2025, write that nothing is laid on for children. The Hotel Policy does not give the age at which the child’s price for the festive dinners stops.
The nightly rate for 2 already includes 10% service and 17% TGST. Green Tax is added: $12 a person a night, so $24 a night for a couple. Meal upgrades and the festive dinners are quoted before service and tax, and the seaplane fare is given net. On the spa, wedding and excursion sheets too, TGST is 17% since 1 July 2025, as the policy states (MIRA, read on 15 October 2026). Google’s calendar does not say what its prices include.
