OBLU NATURE Helengeli suits divers, couples and families who spend their days in the water, on an all-inclusive plan that includes the speedboat: nights from $841 from 10 April 2027, the lowest price any seller showed on Google for one night. Anyone after a long white beach should choose the villa carefully.

I would ask for the Sunset Water Villa with Pool: 87 m² with a 10 m² pool, according to the brochure, an ocean-view bathroom and direct access to the coral-rich lagoon. There are 19 villas on the sunset side.
The weeks that cost less
In the calendar read on 12 October 2026 the lowest week runs from 10 to 16 April 2027: 7 nights at $841. The dearest, 29 December 2026 to 4 January 2027, costs $1,575 a night.
On top of the plan
The ELE|NA Ayur spa sits outside the Island Plan: on the October 2026 menu a 60-minute Balinese massage is $75, with taxes and service added to the final bill. Lunch at Just Grill and the Connoisseurs selection at Raa Bandhi are charged too.
Fridays: Boduberu drums
On Fridays The Spice serves the Indian Ocean Night, a food selection with wines, beers and soft drinks, and Raa Bandhi has a Boduberu performance, music and dance with traditional Maldivian drums.
What Helengeli is
It is a 4-star superior resort of Atmosphere Core’s COLOURS OF OBLU brand, on the island that closes North Malé Atoll to the north, between 2 channels (Island Plan 2026). It closed on 7 May 2023 for a full renovation that added the water villas, the family villas, an overwater gym and the kids’ club; on 12 November 2023 the resort presented its new look (press releases). Its page addresses on Booking.com and Expedia still carry the earlier name, OBLU by Atmosphere at Helengeli: the portals’ older reviews describe the island before the works.
The reason to choose it is the reef. The September 2026 brochure counts more than 30 dive sites nearby and a PADI school, the TGI Dive & Watersports Centre (brochure); the reef page names turtles, reef sharks, rays and moray eels, and sites such as Shark Point and Turtle Point (the reef). Guests bear it out: sharks or turtles come up in 40 of the 256 Google reviews with text published since 2024 (Google).
The price covers a great deal: the Island Plan gives meals at The Spice’s buffet, wine, beer and soft drinks with meals, the cocktails on the Raa Bandhi list, a minibar restocked daily, mask and fins, kayaks and paddleboards, one fishing trip and one dhoni ride per person, and the speedboat from Malé (Island Plan 2026). The spa, diving, the bar’s Connoisseurs selection and Raga Route’s sunset champagne are charged.
The beach is that of a reef island. Anyone hoping for a long white strip will be happier on another island: several guests report stones in the water in front of the beach villas, advise reef shoes and write that the ocean side is windier than the lagoon side (Google). It has 4.7 out of 5 from 1,159 reviews on Google, 4.9 from 4,699 on Tripadvisor and 9.2 from 463 on Booking.com, read on 3 October 2026 (Tripadvisor).

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The house reef is why people come back: guests describe sharks, turtles and rays a few metres from the shore.

The scores come from 256 Google reviews with text, left from 14 January 2024 to 3 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in the Maldives: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 6 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
Price: for two on the night of 10 April 2027, from $841 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).
What a night costs, season by season
On 12 October 2026 Google showed single nights for 2 adults at $841 on the priced nights from 10 April to 4 September 2027; $957 to $1,002 from 20 October to 23 December 2026; and $1,575 every night from 24 December 2026 to 4 January 2027. I would start with April 2027; for 7 October 2026, the reading of 6 October showed the hotel’s own listing at $809 and the lowest seller at $756.

Island Plan dining, the reef from the shore and 2 bars
Meals are at The Spice’s buffet or à la carte on the beach, the reef starts at the shore and evenings end at Raa Bandhi.
The Spice serves its buffet from 7am to 10.30am, noon to 2.30pm and 7pm to 10pm, with live cooking stations and, on Fridays, the Indian Ocean Night (Island Plan 2026). Just Grill, Mediterranean and grilled on the beach, and Raga Route, contemporary Indian, open for dinner 6 days a week, booked ahead: from 6.30pm according to the 2026 plan, from 7pm according to their own pages (Just Grill, Raga Route).
The reef is reached from the shore and from a snorkelling jetty (brochure). The resort’s page talks of currents and channels, and of turtles, reef sharks and rays (the reef); for diving there is the TGI Dive & Watersports Centre, at a charge, and other companies’ boats may not call at the island (Island Plan 2026).
Raa Bandhi, the bar by the main pool, opens from 9am to 1am, with hammocks over the water, a pool table and a dance floor with a DJ; the 9 cocktails and 6 mocktails on its list are included. Thundi, on the beach, pours beer, wine and soft drinks from 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm (Island Plan 2026).

The beach varies round the island. In front of several beach villas the water is stony and guests advise reef shoes (Google).
The speedboat is included but shared: the 2026 plan warns that the wait at the airport can be 90–120 minutes while other flights land, and the 50-minute crossing is not the whole journey (Island Plan 2026).
À la carte dinners depend on the length of stay: from 4 nights one at Just Grill or Raga Route, from 8 nights one at each, with 14 nights 3, and beyond 14 one more every 4 nights, booked ahead and subject to availability (Island Plan 2026). Lunch at Just Grill is charged.
Check-in is at 2pm, check-out at noon, and the Island Plan ends at noon on departure day even if the boat leaves later; keeping the villa longer is charged, subject to availability (Island Plan 2026). The Helengeli Lounge is there for the wait (brochure).
The ELE|NA Ayur spa is charged and not part of the plan; treatments are for guests aged 18 and over, and the October 2026 menu prices exclude taxes and service, for example $75 for a 60-minute Balinese massage (spa menu).
By speedboat from Malé airport, in 50 minutes, included in the price.
Speedboat
50 minutes from Velana International Airport in Malé, both ways included in the Island Plan; staff meet guests at the airport and take them to the jetty (Island Plan 2026).
Waiting
The transfer is shared and has no fixed timetable: it follows guests’ flights, and the wait can reach 90–120 minutes; weather and the resort’s operations can change it (Island Plan 2026).
Departure day
Check-out at noon, when the Island Plan also ends; the Helengeli Lounge takes guests leaving later or arriving early (brochure).
Before you arrive
The resort asks guests to download the OBLU Helengeli app 24 hours ahead, for check-in (Island Plan 2026).

OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO reviews
Sharks and morays on the reef, swimming off the villas and waiting for the speedboat: guests’ accounts.
From the resort’s Google listing, June 2025 to August 2026: a honeymoon, a family, the beach, the island’s 2 sides and a crossing.
Google
Sharks and morays on honeymoon
On honeymoon in June 2025: on the house reef they saw sharks, turtles, rays and moray eels. Dinner was the buffet, with 2 different pizzas and 2 pastas every day, and plenty of Indian and Asian cooking.
A family split their stay between a Lagoon Villa, roomier and more modern, and a beach pool villa, easier with children. The kids’ club is built around nature; there is no loud entertainment team, and most guests come for the diving and snorkelling.
German guests rated the all-inclusive plan and the food highly, and the reef off the beach the real highlight. But swimming needs reef shoes because of the stones in the water; the island is densely built and privacy suffers. On arrival they waited almost 2 hours for the boat.
8 nights in a Deluxe Beach Villa: the speedboat was modern and air-conditioned, trees screening the villa’s view. The island has 2 sides, one on the open ocean, windy and rough, the other on the atoll’s lagoon, calm and with a wider beach.
One guest’s only complaint was the boat: 1 hour 25 minutes out through the waves, with many passengers seasick; on the way back, in a calm sea, an enclosed boat with neither air conditioning nor windows.
On the Google Hotels calendar, read on 6 October 2026 for 2 adults, a night cost $756 on 7 October, $919 on 1 November, $967 on 1 December, $1,519 on 24 and 31 December 2026 and $1,161 on 11 January 2027. 28 October showed no price.
Google’s figures include taxes and fees: for 7 October the official site’s link carried $809.06, of which $199.06 were taxes and fees (Google Hotels). The resort sells its stays on the Island Plan, which covers meals, drinks and the speedboat (release of 17 August 2026); Google does not say which villa category its price is for.
What does the Island Plan, Helengeli’s all-inclusive plan, cover?
The 2026 plan covers the return speedboat; breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Spice’s buffet, with house wine, beer and soft drinks at meals; at Raa Bandhi the 9 cocktails and 6 mocktails on the list, spirits and the Bar Gratis; beer, wine and soft drinks at Thundi; a minibar with 2 beers, 4 soft drinks and water, restocked daily; snorkelling gear, kayaks and paddleboards; one line-fishing trip and one sunset dhoni ride per person, on registration and weather permitting; and the overwater gym from 6am to 9pm (Island Plan 2026).
Left out are the spa, diving, Raa Bandhi’s Connoisseurs selection, lunch at Just Grill and Raga Route’s sunset champagne, from 5pm to 6.30pm. À la carte dinners at Just Grill and Raga Route depend on the stay: one from 4 nights, 2 from 8, 3 with 14, then one for every 4 extra nights. The plan ends at noon on departure day (Island Plan 2026).
How do you get there from Malé, and how long is the wait for the boat?
By speedboat from Velana airport, in 50 minutes, included in the Island Plan. The transfer is shared and follows flight times: the 2026 plan warns that the wait can be 90–120 minutes (Island Plan 2026). Guests describe waits of an hour to almost 2 hours, and longer crossings in rough seas (Google).
What is the house reef like, and can you snorkel from the beach?
Yes: the reef starts at the shore and there is a snorkelling jetty (brochure). The resort lists turtles, reef sharks, rays, moray eels and reef fish, and sites such as Turtle Point, Coral Garden, Shark Point and Rasfari Corner (the reef); the island sits between 2 channels, so the currents call for care (Island Plan 2026). The gear is included; guided trips and dives with the PADI centre are charged.
What is the beach like?
White sand and palms, but in many places the water has stones and coral debris: 8 Google reviews since 2024 mention it, and in February and March 2026, 3 guests advised reef shoes, including in front of the Family Villas. A guest in July 2026 called the atoll-lagoon side calmer, with a wider beach, and the ocean side windy and rough (Google). The Lagoon Villas and water villas have direct access to the lagoon (brochure).
Which villa should you choose?
The 153 villas come in 9 categories (brochure). Over the water: 18 Sunrise and 19 Sunset Water Villas with a 10 m² pool, 28 Lagoon Villas half on the sand with a 6 m² pool, the Honeymoon Sunset Water Villa for 2 adults and the Sunset Water Suite at the end of the jetty, with a 20 m² pool. On the beach: 38 Deluxe Beach Villas without a pool, 26 with a 10 m² pool, 19 Family Villas and three 2-bedroom Beach Suites.
The 2 sets of figures measure different things: the September 2026 brochure gives the villa itself, 57 m² for the Deluxe Beach Villa, 101 m² plus a 16 m² pool for the Family Villa and 126 m² plus a 12 m² pool for the Beach Suite, while the website gives the total area, 92, 145 and 214 m²; both read on 15 October 2026. The Deluxe pool villas have a 10 m² pool, according to the newest document, the September 2026 brochure, read on 15 October 2026.
Is OBLU NATURE Helengeli good for children?
Yes: the Kids Club & Nature Centre, open from 9am to 6pm, teaches children about nature above and below the water; babysitting is on request and charged (Island Plan 2026). The 19 Family Villas and 3 Beach Suites have a second bedroom with 2 fixed single beds and sleep up to 5 (brochure). The Island Plan gives no minimum or maximum age for the club. The 137 m² pool is for adults only and spa treatments are from 18.
What pools are there?
The main pool at Raa Bandhi, open from 7am to 7pm, and the 137 m² adults-only infinity pool, with a self-service bar and cabanas, from 9am to 7pm (Island Plan 2026, brochure). Every villa except the 38 plain Deluxe Beach Villas has a private pool, from 6 m² in the Lagoon Villas to 20 m² in the Water Suite. Pool heating is not specified in the plan or brochure consulted.
Is the spa included in the room rate, is there a fee, and can outside guests buy a day pass?
ELE|NA Ayur has 4 couples’ rooms under a banyan tree, 2 outdoor ones among koi ponds and a steam room (ELE|NA Ayur). Spa treatments and facilities are paid for on top of the Island Plan, under its 2026 terms (Island Plan 2026). The website gives 9am to 9pm; the plan gives an 8pm closing time.
The October 2026 menu reserves treatments for guests aged 18 and over; prices exclude taxes and service: $75 for a 60-minute Balinese massage, $90 for a 60-minute Abhyanga, $280 for the 120-minute Lobi Dhoni ritual for 2 and $90 for the 75-minute Deep Blue Recovery, designed for divers. Cancel 5 hours ahead, 24 for packages, or up to 50% may be charged (spa menu).
The October 2026 menu charges treatments to the room bill, asks guests to arrive 15 minutes early to fill in a lifestyle form before the treatment (spa menu). A day pass for people not staying on the island appears neither on the website nor in the plan or the menu, read on 3 and 6 October 2026; the resort does not let outside boats call (Island Plan 2026).
Can you dive at Helengeli?
Yes, with the TGI Dive & Watersports Centre, a PADI school with bilingual instructors, which runs dives to more than 30 sites nearby and also offers motorised sports, excursions and cruises (brochure). Diving is not part of the Island Plan, and other companies’ boats may not come to the island (Island Plan 2026). The resort and TGI received PADI’s Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Diving award (the reef).
Is it better to book direct or through a portal?
For 7 October 2026 Google showed the same price, $809, on the official site, Booking.com, Trip.com and Hotels.com, and $756 on Bluepillow (Google Hotels). On 3 October 2026 the site had 3 offers, each with a 4-night minimum and cancellation 14 days ahead: The Getaway, 20% off with a 25% deposit (The Getaway); Stay More, Get More, 10% off and $100 of credit every 4 nights (Stay More, Get More); Forever Starts Here, 10% off, a floating breakfast and a romantic turn-down (Forever Starts Here). The last 2 exclude the family villas.
What happens at Christmas and New Year?
From 22 December 2026 to 7 January 2027 the resort runs a festive calendar, Reef of Wonder, within the Island Plan: Santa arrives at Thundi on 25 December, followed by the Indian Ocean Night, and on 31 December there is the Ocean Elegance gala dinner at The Spice and a party at Raa Bandhi (experiences). The programme does not say whether the gala dinner costs extra. The nights of 24 and 31 December cost $1,575 on Google on 12 October 2026 (Google Hotels).
When was it renovated, and is it open all year?
It closed on 7 May 2023 for the works, announced with a reopening in December 2023; the release of 12 November 2023 was already presenting the new villas (press releases). The releases consulted do not give the exact reopening day. The website publishes no seasonal closure, and on 6 October 2026 Google had a price for every night until 31 January 2027 except 28 October (Google Hotels).
Is there Wi-Fi, and can you work there?
Wi-Fi is free in every villa, which also has a safe and tea and coffee facilities; an espresso machine only in the water villas and Beach Suites (brochure). Neither the website nor the September 2026 brochure lists meeting rooms. A guest in July 2026 wrote that the speedboat had Wi-Fi too (Google).
Can you get married at Helengeli?
The resort offers vow renewals (experiences); the page consulted gives no price or capacity and does not describe a legally binding ceremony. For a honeymoon there is the Honeymoon Sunset Water Villa, reserved for 2 adults (brochure).
What do guests say about OBLU NATURE Helengeli?
It has 4.7 out of 5 from 1,159 reviews on Google, 4.9 from 4,699 on Tripadvisor, 9.2 from 463 on Booking.com and 9.4 from 150 on Expedia, read on 3 October 2026 (Google, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Expedia). In the 256 Google reviews with text published since 14 January 2024, the reef, the staff and the buffet come back again and again (Google). There are stones in the water in front of several beach villas; the speedboat is shared and the 2026 plan puts the wait at 90–120 minutes; the plan leaves out the spa and diving, among other things.
Can you drive there or park?
Guests reach the island of Helengeli on the resort’s speedboat from Velana airport: 50 minutes, included in the Island Plan.
