V Villas at Mirihi suits couples and divers who want a small island with the reef within reach of the villa; the lowest seller showed $727 for one night in July 2027. Families with a child under 8 should note that the resort lists its overwater villas for children from 8 years.

A water villa’s deck with its infinity pool, white curtains, an outdoor sofa and the sea to the horizon.
  1. The villa to ask for

I would ask for an Overwater Villa, one of the 30: each is 53 m², with a private sun deck over the clear water and, says the resort, direct access to the house reef.

  2. The week that costs less

In the calendar read on 12 October 2026 the lowest week is 12–18 July 2027: 7 nights at $727. 4 and 5 January 2027 are the dearest nights shown, at $3,726, and 24 December to 3 January show no price.

  3. On top of the rate

Booking.com lists the compulsory return seaplane at $620 per adult until 31 October 2026 and $680 from 1 November. The resort’s own prices carry a 10% service charge and 17% GST.

  4. Before the seaplane

Wait in the Mirihi Lounge at the Malé seaplane terminal: the resort offers Wi-Fi and refreshments there, and you can complete the resort pre-check-in while you wait to board.

What Mirihi is

For years this was Mirihi Island Resort. Since its renovation by Studio Gronda it has been MGallery's first hotel in the Maldives: Accor announced the signing on 1 December 2025 and the opening on 5 June 2026. The signing release names VIE Maldives, part of Thailand's Major Cineplex Group, as owner, and the same owner is behind the V Villas in Hua Hin and Phuket. There are 42 villas: 6 on the beach and 30 over the water, all 53 m², and 6 with 2 or 3 bedrooms, among them 4 new overwater villas with infinity pools.

You come for the sea. The lagoon runs for 6 km, the house reef can be reached at any hour, even at night, and the wreck of the Madige lies 50 metres off it, says the dive centre page; more than 50 sites are within an hour by boat, and the South Ari protected area has whale sharks all year. There are 2 restaurants, Dhonveli on the beach and Muraka over the water, which won a Wine Spectator award in 2026; 11 of the 18 Google reviews with text from 2026 praise the cooking.

The resort restarted in 2026, and the bill is best worked out in full. On top of the rate come the seaplane, any meals outside your board and, on every bill, 10% service and 17% GST; on Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, a night for 2 ran from $971 to $3,705. The manta and whale shark trips need 4 people, and in weeks with few guests they may not run, as in July 2026; the website describes no children’s club, and with children under 8 the choice is the Beach Villas or the 3-bedroom residence.

Questions before you go

What people ask before booking V Villas Maldives at Mirihi, from sources read between 3 and 6 October 2026.

What kind of resort is V Villas Maldives at Mirihi?

A resort of 42 villas on its own island in South Ari Atoll, and the first Maldives hotel of MGallery, Accor's boutique collection. Until the renovation it was Mirihi Island Resort: Accor announced the signing in its release of 1 December 2025 and the opening in that of 5 June 2026. Google Hotels lists it as 5-star.

The design is by Studio Gronda; the signing release lists new villa interiors, the spa, the gym and yoga pavilion, the bar and the main pool. The owner is VIE Maldives, part of Thailand's Major Cineplex Group. The website notes that many of the staff have worked here for decades.

Which villas are there and how big are they?

5 types, on the villa pages. On the beach: the 6 Beach Villas, 53 m², and the Three Bedroom Beach Residence, 230 m² over 2 floors, with a private pool. Over the water: the 30 Overwater Villas, 53 m², the Two Bedroom Overwater Villa, 160 m², and the 4 Two Bedroom Overwater Villas with Private Pool, whose size the website does not give.

The total is 42, which leaves one each of the 2-bedroom villa without a pool and the residence, though the website does not say so. No page says whether the areas include the decks. On 7 October 2026 the official site, on Google, asked 2 guests $1,221 for an Overwater Villa, $1,350 for a Beach Villa, $2,765 for the 2-bedroom villa and $3,023 for the one with a pool.

Where is it, and is the island quiet?

In Alifu Dhaalu, or South Ari, Atoll, 85 km from Malé according to the location page; the website gives the address as Mirihi Island, 00190. About 6 km away, going by the 2 Google listings' coordinates, lies Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, and the local island of Mandhoo is the goal of one of the resort's excursions.

Guests in 2026 describe it as small and quiet, an island you walk barefoot. In April and June 2026 renovation work was still going on in a far corner, and the 2 guests who mention it never heard it; in August another noticed the plastic sandbags protecting the shore.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the transfer cost?

By seaplane: Booking.com calls it the only way in, while the website allows late arrivals a domestic flight and a boat. The flight takes 30 to 35 minutes on the website, 30 in the June 2026 release and 25 in the December 2025 one. The return trip costs $620 per adult and $310 per child until 31 October 2026, then $680 and $340 from 1 November, in the conditions Booking.com published on 3 October 2026.

Seaplanes fly by day only, so your international flight must land at Velana between 6am and 3.30pm. At the airport you wait in the Mirihi Lounge at the terminal, with Wi-Fi and drinks. Between the airport and the seaplanes you ride a shared bus, as 2 guests describe on Tripadvisor in August and September 2026.

Can you arrive by car or park?

No: Mirihi is an island reached only by seaplane, or by a domestic flight and a boat, as Booking.com and the website say, with no roads or parking. On the island you go on foot, and guests in 2026 write that they spent the whole stay barefoot.

How do you get into the sea?

From the Beach Villas you step onto the beach a few paces from the deck; the Overwater Villas have direct access to the house reef, and each bedroom of the largest villa has its own steps into the water. The lagoon, says the dive centre page, runs for 6 km and is sheltered.

The reef rings the island, and there are rocky patches near the shore, a guest writes in July 2026; at low tide, another wrote in February 2025, before the renovation, the reef takes more effort to reach from the overwater villas.

Is there a house reef you can swim to?

Yes. According to the dive centre page the reef can be reached at any time, even at night, and is home to turtles, eagle rays and a large school of batfish; 50 metres off it lies the Madige, a 25-metre cargo ship scuttled at 30 metres. Through Project Hope the resort grows more than 1,000 coral fragments in its nurseries.

Masks, fins and kayaks are included, as is every non-motorised water sport, says the activities page; the guided reef trip, on Tuesdays and Fridays, is $95 plus taxes in the excursions price list. In September 2026 a family found it healthier than the reefs they had seen further north in the atoll.

What pools are there?

One main infinity pool on the beach, beside the AKOYA bar, as the restaurants page describes; Accor's December 2025 release listed it among the renovation's additions. Only the 4 2-bedroom overwater villas with a pool, with infinity pools, and the 3-bedroom residence, in its garden, have private pools.

The pages for the Beach Villas, the Overwater Villas and the 2-bedroom villa without a pool list no pool. Google's listing for the hotel also shows an adults-only pool, which the website does not mention.

Are the pools heated, and when are they open?

The website publishes neither the temperature nor the hours of the main pool, and does not say whether it is heated; Google’s listing shows a lifeguard. AKOYA, the bar beside it, opens from the golden hour into the evening.

Where can you eat, and what is the cooking like?

In 2 restaurants and a bar. Dhonveli, on the beach with a sand floor, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as buffets, with grill stations, handmade pasta and vegan dishes and themed nights from Oriental and Italian to a seafood barbecue; it takes no bookings. Muraka, over the water, has a few tables, Wagyu and Maldivian lobster, a cellar with Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence 2026, and must be booked.

At AKOYA Sea Lounge, by the pool, there are more than 120 rums and live music, and The Tasting Room hosts cooking classes and tastings. In-villa dining runs 24 hours, and villas with a pool can have a floating breakfast. The 2026 food and drink price list prices each themed dinner by board: Thursday's tomahawk is $92 on breakfast only and $72 on half or full board. There is no undersea restaurant: Muraka sits over the water, and shares its name with the undersea villa at the neighbouring Conrad.

What meal plans are there, and what do they include?

The 2026 food and drink price list and the excursions list distinguish 3: breakfast only, half board and full board, with buffets at Dhonveli. No page of the website lists which drinks they include; for stays on 24 or 31 December 2026 Booking.com makes half board the minimum.

An all-inclusive food and drink package is offered too, beside bed and breakfast, half board and full board, according to the hotel’s dining page on the MGallery site, read on 15 October 2026; a guest in July 2026 writes of having it.

What is the spa like?

The Mirihi Spa is small: 2 private treatment rooms in the garden, offering massages, including for couples, body polishes, aromatherapy and facials, plus an infrared sauna with chromotherapy and red light, and ice baths. The hot-and-cold area, the Contrast Lounge, is for guests aged 16 and over.

Beside it are the Bageechaa Pavilion, the open-air yoga pavilion, and the indoor-outdoor Technogym gym, open 24 hours. The spa uses HealingEarth products, according to the spa page, edited by the hotel on 25 July 2026 and read on 15 October 2026.

Is the spa included, is there a fee, and can outside guests use it?

Treatments are paid for, with 10% service and 17% GST; every guest gets one 20-minute session in the infrared sauna, according to the thermal experiences list. The gym is free, and so are the morning yoga and the Monday and Thursday Pilates.

The website publishes no day pass for people not staying on the island, and no page mentions outside visitors; Mirihi is, in any case, reached by seaplane. Under-16s may use the spa and gym with an adult.

What are the spa's opening hours?

From 10am to 7pm, by appointment, according to the spa page and its menu; the gym is open 24 hours with no booking. Body & Soul classes are booked at least a day ahead; a treatment cancelled less than 12 hours before is charged at half.

Which treatments are offered, and at what price?

The spa menu starts with the Ocean Flow Ritual, a Balinese massage at $175 for 60 minutes and $230 for 90; the Spirit of Mirihi, 90 minutes with warm shells, gua sha and singing bowls, is $260, and the Island Duo Escape for two $540. Facials run from $110 for the Stop & Relax to $240 for the Signature Thermal Facial.

There are treatments for children from 8 to 12, from a $60 massage to a $50 mini pedicure, and wellness programmes of 3 and 5 days at $540 and $860. Every price carries 10% service and 17% GST.

Is it good for children?

It depends on their age. Children of all ages are welcome, says Booking.com, but the Overwater Villas and the 2-bedroom villas take them from 8 only; with younger children you have the Beach Villas, for 2 adults and 1 child, and the 3-bedroom residence, for 6 adults and 3 children. The website describes no children’s club.

Under-2s eat free within the board booked, and under-12s pay half for excursions. The dive centre runs Bubble Maker for 8- and 9-year-olds at $120, and the spa has treatments for 8 to 12. In September 2026 a family writes that half board for their 2-year-old cost $85, taxes included.

What is on the island besides the villas?

2 restaurants, the bar by the main pool, the spa, the gym, the yoga pavilion and a 5-star PADI dive centre with 2 boats. According to the FAQ a doctor is on call around the clock at a clinic for minor problems, and the nearest hospital is 20 minutes away by boat; Wi-Fi is free in the villas.

Among the activities on the website are a telescope for stargazing, a private beach cinema, cooking and cocktail classes, sunset fishing, the sailing yacht Mirihi Thari and outings with the marine biologist. The resort also has an app for booking activities.

Are there offers or packages?

The offers page, read on 6 October 2026, lists a proposal package, romantic experiences and the whole island for weddings, family gatherings or events, with no prices. The website promises its best rate guaranteed, Booking.com a price match.

During the last of the works, in April and June 2026, the resort gave guests who had already booked their excursions and dives free, as 2 Google reviews tell; it is not a published offer.

Can you get married at V Villas Maldives at Mirihi?

The website mentions weddings only on its offers page, which offers the whole island for weddings and events, and among its romantic experiences, from a proposal under the stars to anniversaries; it publishes no wedding package, guest numbers or prices.

For dinners for 2, the food and drink price list has a private beach barbecue at $168 on breakfast only and $148 on half board, and the excursions list a private sandbank picnic at $290 per person.

Is there a New Year's Eve dinner?

Yes: in the conditions Booking.com published on 3 October 2026, the dinner on 31 December 2026 is $480 per adult and $240 per child, Christmas Eve's $276 and $138, and stays on those nights need half board at least.

The website's events page announces Christmas and New Year celebrations but publishes no menu or programme. On Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, the nights from 24 December to 5 January showed no price.

Can you play golf?

The website lists no golf course and no golf packages; the activities it publishes are the sea, diving, yoga, the gym and boat trips.

When is it open, and when is the best season?

The website gives no seasonal closures. The resort closed for its renovation, as a Tripadvisor guest wrote in July 2025, and the first Google reviews after the closure date from the end of February 2026; Accor announced its opening as an MGallery on 5 June 2026. On Google Hotels, on 6 October 2026, 104 of the 117 nights to 31 January 2027 had a price; the rest, from 24 December to 5 January, had none.

For the sea, says the dive centre, the north-east monsoon from December to April brings calm seas, clear water and mantas in the western channels; from May to November the weather is more changeable, the currents shift, and clear water reaches their side of the atoll with more sharks.

How much does a night cost?

On Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, a night for 2 adults, taxes and fees included, cost $971 on 7 October, $1,024 on 20 October and $1,200 on 15 November, $1,356 on 4 December and $1,335 on 23 December; $2,045 on 6 January, $3,705 on 8 January, the dearest night, and $1,272 on 15 January. The nights from 24 December to 5 January showed no price.

For 7 October the $971 came from Trip.com, with $235.28 of taxes and fees; the official site, on the same card, asked $1,221 for an Overwater Villa and $1,350 for a Beach Villa, without naming the board. The seaplane, $620 to $680 per adult return, and any meals outside your board come on top.

What do the reviews say?

On 3 October 2026 the Google listing showed 4.8/5 from 25 ratings, all from 2026, Booking.com 9.8/10 from 7 and Tripadvisor 4.9/5 from 1,680 reviews spanning the old Mirihi years, with a Travellers' Choice award for 2026. The staff, who greet guests by name, the cooking, the reef and the dive centre come up again and again.

The resort restarted in 2026: boat trips go out with at least 4 people, and on top of the rate come the seaplane, the board you choose and, on every bill, 10% service and 17% GST.

What taxes and charges are added?

On the resort's own prices, from dining to the spa and excursions, come 10% service and 17% GST, say the official price lists; Booking.com adds a green tax of $12 per person per night, from which under-2s are exempt. Google Hotels amounts for the Maldives market already include taxes and fees: on 7 October 2026 Trip.com's $971 included $235.28 of them.

The seaplane, $620 to $680 per adult return, is extra, as are the compulsory Christmas and New Year dinners at $276 and $480 per adult.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 2pm and check-out by noon, according to Booking.com and Google's listing; Booking.com asks for your arrival time in advance. In practice the times follow the seaplane, which flies by day only, and pre-check-in is done at the lounge in Malé.
