For honeymooners and families who want an all-inclusive stay without a seaplane, with the INDULGENCE plan covering meals, champagne and 2 snorkelling trips a day, nights for 2 adults start at $1,293 from April 2027: the lowest price any seller showed on Google for one night. Anyone who puts snorkelling first should count mainly on the boat trips.

Like a regular

A couple walking on the white beach, with the water villas in a row behind them.
  1. The villa to ask for

I would ask for an Earth Villa with Pool, with its infinity pool lit from below, a private beach and a bicycle; a guest who wrote in September 2026 found it very spacious and well thought out.

  2. The weeks that cost less

In the calendar read on 12 October 2026 the cheapest week is 13–19 April 2027, at $1,293 on each of 7 nights. The dearest is 29 December 2026 to 4 January 2027, at $2,365 every night.

  3. On top of the plan

Charged trips come on top of the plan: a private 3-hour snorkelling trip with sharks and turtles is $1,500 for up to 6 people, plus 10% service charge and TGST. The crab dinner at HUDHU BAY is outside the plan too.

  4. Friday night at THE PALMS

On Friday evenings everyone dines at THE PALMS, the main restaurant, for the weekly Maldivian themed night: local people wear traditional clothes and perform for guests, and the other restaurants are closed.

What OZEN LIFE MAADHOO is

OZEN LIFE MAADHOO was the first resort of THE OZEN COLLECTION, a small Maldivian group whose other property is OZEN RESERVE Bolifushi, and it fills the island of Maadhoo in South Malé Atoll. There are 95 villas: 46 on the beach, split between Earth Villas, Earth Villas with Pool and 2-bedroom Pavilions, and 49 over the water, ending with the 3-bedroom OZEN RESIDENCE at the tip of the jetty. At the Junior Travel Awards 2026 it shared gold with Bolifushi for the best all-inclusive hotel for families, according to the resort's press page.

The reason to choose it is the INDULGENCE plan, which comes with every offer on the website: the return speedboat, the airport lounge, breakfast, lunch and dinner at THE PALMS, dinners at TRADITION INDOCEYLON and TRADITION PEKING, champagne, more than 80 wines and whiskies aged 12 to 15 years, a minibar restocked daily, 2 snorkelling trips a day, a sunset cruise and sunset fishing and, from the fourth night, a meal at M6m, one at LONU and a voucher for the spa or a dive for every adult.

For snorkelling the plan runs boats to nearby reefs twice a day, at 9am and 3pm; the website also speaks of a house reef, and in the reviews some guests swam there among coral and turtles while others found little coral off the villas: anyone who puts snorkelling first should count mainly on the boat trips. On Fridays THE PALMS hosts the gala dinner. On Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, a night for 2 ran from $1,181 in October to $2,365 between Christmas and Epiphany.

In the Lumina Guide

Lumina Guide 2027

45 minutes by speedboat from Malé, OZEN LIFE MAADHOO puts 95 villas, 2 snorkelling trips a day and, from the fourth night, a meal at the underwater M6m into a single all-inclusive plan.

The scores come from 437 Google reviews with text, left from 9 September 2016 to 1 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in South Malé Atoll: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 6 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

  • The INDULGENCE plan’s snorkelling is by boat, on nearby reefs, at 9am and 3pm; the website names the house reef for the SUB-ZEN semi-submarine. Between October 2024 and September 2026, 4 Google reviews say the island has no reef of its own, or that there is little coral and little life off the villas; 4 others, between March 2025 and April 2026, describe snorkelling off their villa or on the house reef, among fish, rays, coral and turtles. Anyone who puts snorkelling first should count mainly on the boat trips.

  • On Friday evenings the à la carte restaurants close and everyone dines at THE PALMS for the Indian Ocean gala night; M6m and LONU are also closed on Fridays.

  • Sizes depend on the source: the September 2026 brochure gives the Earth Villa 58 m² of villa on a 268 m² plot, its web page «Total Area 191 m²», the fact sheet 185 m². The number of Earth Villas with and without a pool also differs between the 2 documents.

  • The INDULGENCE plan runs until 11am on departure day and the villa is vacated by noon: beyond that, it is charged.

  • Spa services are for guests aged 16 and over, with parental consent, according to the current INDULGENCE plan brochure, read on 15 October 2026. M6m at dinner, LONU and Gin is In are for adults.

A butler who spoke Japanese

In September 2026 a Japanese couple found their activities booked before they arrived and the minibar and wine fridge restocked every day. For an 11pm flight they paid $386 for a late check-out; the water on the boat trips was murky, while the lagoon under their villa was crystal clear.

Snorkelling means the boat

In September 2026 a German family, 4 nights, changed butler after the first day and were given M6m to themselves by way of apology. The spa was excellent, the kids' club dull; for snorkelling, they write, you need the boat, because the island has no reef of its own.

The water villa with the slide

In September 2026 a guest loved the lagoon and the slide, but some of the timber braces under their water villa were broken and it swayed. The Indian restaurant beat the main one; the late check-out rule and paying in full before arrival felt rigid.

11 nights in the rainy season

At the end of August 2026 a couple spent 11 nights on Maadhoo during the monsoon: one shower over breakfast, a warm sea, and dolphins, sharks and turtles on trips paid for with the plan's vouchers.

A fortnight above the lagoon

In February 2026 a couple, 2 weeks in a water villa with a pool, watched blacktip sharks and rays from the deck, though a red flag often warned against swimming because of currents. A buggy came within 10 minutes; LONU, they write, could be booked only once in a fortnight.

Snorkelling outside the villa

In April 2026 a couple, 8 nights in an overwater bungalow, snorkelled outside their villa almost every day and liked the Sri Lankan restaurant best. The 2-bedroom beach bungalows, they thought, need updating, and the gym needs more air.

Questions before you go

What kind of resort is OZEN LIFE MAADHOO?

An all-inclusive resort on its own island in South Malé Atoll, the first of THE OZEN COLLECTION, whose other Maldives resort is OZEN RESERVE Bolifushi; Booking.com lists it under Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts. The resort brochure counts 95 villas and suites, 46 on the beach and 49 over the water; Google Hotels and Tripadvisor class it as 5-star, and the sustainability page records its Green Globe certification.

The press page lists the gold shared with Bolifushi at the Junior Travel Awards 2026 for the best all-inclusive hotel for families, Tripadvisor's Best of the Best 2025 and the Travel Time Awards' most romantic resort in the Maldives. The website does not say when it opened; the oldest Google review we collected is from 9 September 2016.

Which villas are there, and how big are they?

7 types, on the villa pages. On the beach: Earth Villa, 58 m² of villa on a 268 m² plot; Earth Villa with Pool, 58 m² on 307 m², with a pool; Earth Pool Pavilion, 2 bedrooms, 145 m² on 426 m², 10 in all. Over the water: Wind Villa, 12, and Wind Villa with Jacuzzi & Slide, 65 m² on 100 m²; Wind Villa with Pool, 24, 65 m² on 122 m²; THE OZEN RESIDENCE, the only one, 218 m² on 430 m².

These sizes come from the September 2026 brochure, which separates villa from plot. The villa pages give only a «Total Area», from 85 to 554 m², and the August 2026 fact sheet has other figures again, 185 m² for the Earth Villas; the 2 documents count 19 and 17, or 9 and 27, Earth Villas without and with a pool. Every villa has a butler, a restocked minibar and Wi-Fi.

Where is it, and is the island quiet?

On Maadhoo island in South Malé Atoll: the Google listing gives «Maadhoo Island, 20094», the website «South Malé Atoll, Malé 20094». Tripadvisor puts it 23 miles, about 37 km, from the airport, and lists it as the only hotel on Maadhoo. Sun Siyam Olhuveli lies about 3 km away, by Google's coordinates.

Guests describe a small, green island. The water villas line a long jetty: in February 2026 a guest near its end heard only the odd buggy, and wrote that a buggy to the restaurants came within 10 minutes. In the evening JOIE de VIVRE, the pool bar, has a DJ every day except Monday, according to its page.

How do you get there from Malé, and what does the transfer cost?

By speedboat from Velana airport, included in the rate: the website offers list the return transfer among the INDULGENCE plan's inclusions. The crossing takes 45 minutes according to the plan page; you wait first in THE OZEN COLLECTION lounge, and on board there is an air-conditioned cabin, Wi-Fi and water. Booking.com asks for flight details at least 2 days ahead.

Guests at THE OZEN RESIDENCE have a private speedboat from the Presidential Jetty, for up to 6 people, according to its brochure. Guests in 2026 write 40 to 45 minutes.

Can you drive there or park?

No: Maadhoo is an island reached only by boat, with no roads or parking. You get about on foot, by bicycle, provided with each beach villa according to the villa pages, or by buggy, which guests call from their villa.

How do you get into the sea?

Beach villas open straight on to the sand, water villas have steps into the lagoon, and the Wind Villa with Jacuzzi & Slide has its slide, as the villa pages describe; THE OZEN RESIDENCE also has a private sandbank. The Dolphin Base dive centre lends every guest a mask and fins, and each villa has life jackets.

In April 2026 a guest found the water at the foot of the steps the right depth even for a non-swimmer; in February 2026 a red flag often warned against swimming near the water villas because of currents.

Is there a reef you can swim to?

The resort describes a house reef: the experiences page takes guests over the «house reef» in the SUB-ZEN semi-submarine, 1 metre below the surface, and the sustainability plan calls it one of the best snorkelling spots. The INDULGENCE plan adds 2 boat trips a day, at 9am and 3pm, to nearby reefs.

In Google reviews some guests swam among coral and turtles on the house reef, in January 2026, or snorkelled outside their villa every day, in April, and others write that the island has no reef of its own or that there is little coral off the villas, between October 2024 and September 2026. Charged trips are on the dive centre price list: snorkelling at Turtle Point or Manta Point costs $560 for 90 minutes on a private boat for up to 4.

What are the pools like?

The main pool belongs to JOIE de VIVRE, the bar and pizzeria, with cabanas and loungers facing the lagoon; the OZEN Kids Club has a large, shallow natural saltwater pool, and the resort map marks a saltwater pool beside the OZENERGY gym. Booking.com counts 2 pools.

Among the villas, the Earth Villa with Pool has 25 m², the Wind Villa with Pool 27 m², the Pavilion 35 m² and the RESIDENCE 48 m², according to the villa pages; the brochure gives the first two 20 m² and 8 metres in length, the fact sheet the RESIDENCE 35 m². The Wind Villa with Jacuzzi & Slide has a 5.4 m² hot tub.

Are the pools heated, and when are they open?

The website does not say whether the pools are heated or at what temperature; Booking.com says the outdoor pool is open all year. JOIE de VIVRE, beside the main pool, opens from 9am to 1am according to the plan brochure, and the villa pools are private. The kids' club pool keeps the club's hours, 9am to 6pm.

Where do you eat, and until when?

5 restaurants and 2 bars, according to the brochure. THE PALMS, world cooking, 214 covers, no booking: breakfast 7am to 11am, lunch 12.30pm to 3pm, dinner 7pm to 10.30pm. TRADITION INDOCEYLON, India and Sri Lanka, and TRADITION PEKING, Chinese, 48 covers each, dinner only from 7pm to 10.30pm. M6m, underwater, 24 covers, lunch and dinner. LONU, Maldivian, 20 covers, lunch only and adults only.

The last 4 are booked ahead and close on Fridays, when everyone dines at THE PALMS for the gala night. The bars are JOIE de VIVRE, 9am to 1am, and Gin is In, 5pm to 11pm; HUDHU BAY serves snacks and ice cream from 10am to 6pm and, on some evenings, a Sri Lankan crab dinner outside the plan: $250 a couple plus tax, according to its menu. For LONU the fact sheet gives 12.30pm to 6pm, the plan brochure 12.30pm to 3pm.

Which meal plans are there, and what do they include?

The resort sells one plan, INDULGENCE, all-inclusive: every meal at THE PALMS, dinners at TRADITION INDOCEYLON and TRADITION PEKING, champagne, more than 80 wines, whiskies aged 12 to 15 years, cocktails and beer in every bar, a minibar restocked daily, mask and fins, non-motorised water sports, the gym, tennis, and one sunset cruise and one sunset fishing trip each, as the website offers list.

M6m and LONU come once with 4 nights and twice with 14. From the fourth night every adult, aged 12 or over, gets vouchers for the spa or for dives: one up to 5 nights, 2 up to 8, 3 up to 12, 4 up to 16, 5 beyond, according to the plan brochure, which runs from arrival until 11am on the day of departure. The website asks for at least 4 nights and reviews shorter stays case by case.

What is the spa like?

ELE|NA Elements of Nature is a complex over the water: the resort map marks the overwater treatment rooms, the wellness complex, the yoga pavilion, the salon and the boutique, and the OZENERGY gym with its saltwater pool. The spa page offers Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ocean Flow in the water, Shirodhara and VOYA seaweed and Philosophia Botanica treatments.

No official source gives the spa's size, the number of rooms, a sauna or a steam room. Booking.com lists a sauna and a steam room, Expedia a steam room and a saltwater pool, Google Hotels a sauna and a hot tub. 2 guests, in 2025 and 2026, describe a glass panel in the floor for watching fish during a massage.

Is the spa included, does it cost extra, and can outside guests use it?

On the INDULGENCE plan, from the fourth night, every adult has 1 to 5 vouchers of 60 minutes, for the spa or for dives, depending on the nights booked; other treatments are charged, plus service and government tax, according to the spa menu. Spa services are for guests aged 16 and over, with parental consent, according to the current plan brochure, read on 15 October 2026.

No page publishes a day pass for anyone not staying on the island, which is reached only by the resort's boats: the menu addresses resort guests, charges treatments to the villa and has them booked through the butler.

What are the spa's opening hours?

The spa menu prints no hours. The fact sheet gives 9am to 9pm daily for its wellness and recreation section, which describes the overwater gym and group classes; the festive programme holds yoga in the spa pool at 7am. The menu asks guests to arrive 15 minutes early and to cancel 5 hours ahead for a treatment and 24 for a package, or pay 50%, with no-shows charged in full.

Which treatments are there, and what do they cost?

According to the menu: the Ritual of Renewal costs $345 for 120 minutes, Voyage to Maadhoo $250 for 90, the Deep Muscle Melter and Tranquil Touch $220 for 60, Abhyangam $200 for 60 and $250 for 90, Shirodhara $200 for 60, Ocean Flow $220 for 45, an Indian head massage $90 for 30, and a manicure or pedicure $95 each. Service and government tax are added.

The products are VOYA, from hand-harvested seaweed, and Philosophia Botanica, drawing on Chinese medicine; there is also a prenatal treatment, with a doctor's note in the first 6 months.

Is it good for children?

Yes. The OZEN Kids Club opens from 9am to 6pm near the beach, with indoor and outdoor areas, a sandpit and a shallow pool, as the experiences page describes; in-villa babysitting is charged, from age 3 according to the plan brochure, while the page asks that children under 4 stay with their parents. With Kids Stay Free up to 2 children aged 11 or under stay free for at least 4 nights, except 21 December 2026 to 7 January 2027.

On Booking.com children aged 12 and over pay as adults, under-fives eat free, and a green tax of $12 a night applies for each child aged 2 and over; there is no minimum age to stay. In July 2026 a family with toddler twins recommended M6m even with little ones.

What is there on the island besides the villas?

The spa, the OZENERGY overwater gym with paid personal training, a tennis court, the Dolphin Base dive and water sports centre, the kids' club, a photo studio, the boutique and an indoor hydroponic farm, the first in the Maldives according to the press page, all marked on the resort map. Wi-Fi is free; Booking.com rates it 8 out of 10.

The resort recycles 75% of its waste, bottles its own water and covers about 10% of its energy with solar panels, some of them floating, says the sustainability page. For safety, the plan page says, no outside operators are allowed on the island for water sports, diving or excursions.

What offers are there?

Read on 6 October 2026: Stay More | Pay Less, up to 20% off 4 nights or more; OZEN Direct, up to 25% off for members who sign up and book on the website; Kids Stay Free, 2 children up to 11 free, 4 nights minimum, a 25% deposit and cancellation up to 14 days before arrival, valid until 21 December 2027. For honeymooners the resort adds a cake, a bubble bath, a keepsake, a candlelit dinner and a decorated bed, once per stay, with a marriage certificate from the last 12 months and at least 4 nights, according to the experiences page.

Can you get married at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO?

The resort offers a renewal of vows on the beach, under a flowered palm arch with bodu beru drums. The fact sheet calls it a wedding ceremony and lists the cake cutting and champagne, a 4-course dinner on the beach, a floral bath in the villa and a floating breakfast the morning after.

No source gives a price or a maximum number of guests. The private dining brochure adds a beach proposal, a private barbecue and a cinema on the sand, all booked through the butler; in September 2026 a party of 12 held a pre-wedding photo shoot there.

Is there a New Year's Eve dinner?

The 2026–2027 festive programme has a champagne reception at HUDHU BAY from 6.30pm to 7.40pm on 31 December, a flyboard show, the Glitz and Glam gala dinner at THE PALMS from 8pm to midnight, 7 courses with rare vintages and prestige champagnes, fireworks at midnight and a DJ until 1am. When is it open, and when is the best season?

On Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, every night from 7 October 2026 to 31 January 2027 had a price. Those dates do not establish an annual operating calendar. Kids Stay Free runs until 21 December 2027.

The website does not describe the seasons; the dive centre price list gives manta rays at Manta Point from July to November on one page and from May to November on another. Guests in August 2026 had one shower in 11 nights, those in October 2025 mixed weather.

How much does a night cost?

Almost every night from 24 December to 4 January cost $2,365, the highest figure read; from 5 January it fell to $1,906. Butlers, M6m, the choice of restaurants and an all-inclusive with no extra bills come up again and again. On the house reef the reviews go 2 ways, between guests who swim among coral and turtles and guests who write that the island has none of its own; the plan’s snorkelling is by boat, on nearby reefs, and on Fridays THE PALMS hosts the gala dinner.

Which taxes and charges are added?

Google Hotels prices for the Maldives include taxes and fees: for 7 October the official site's link showed $1,200.19, of which $286.28 was tax and $24 other charges. Spa treatments, excursions, motorised sports and the crab dinner carry 10% service plus government tax, as the spa menu and the dive centre price list state; a plan voucher is worth $90 plus tax.

Booking.com adds a green tax of $12 a night for each child aged 2 and over. On Tripadvisor, on 3 October 2026, partners asked from $1,360 for 11 October, «taxes not included», while Google Hotels showed $1,199 with taxes for the same night.
