Sun Siyam Iru Veli suits couples and small families who want round-the-clock all-inclusive, a reef a few metres from the villa and nights from $1,020 for 2 in December 2026, the lowest price any seller showed on Google for one night. Anyone wanting a bill closed before leaving will be happier elsewhere: the seaplane, spa, excursions and special dinners come on top.

I would ask for an Ocean Villa with Pool: 124 m² over the water, with an infinity plunge pool and steps down to the sea. A guest on a second stay, in March 2024, found the views best from the water villa.
The week that costs less
The cheapest week runs 15–21 December 2026: $1,020 to $1,089 a night for 2, the lowest price any seller showed on Google for one night, read 12 October 2026. The dearest, 2–8 February 2027, shows $2,441 to $2,563.
Taxes and the seaplane
Rates exclude 17% GST (goods and services tax), a 10% service charge and a green tax of $12 per guest per day. The seaplane must be booked through the resort: $490 per adult and $295 per child, return.
Sunset snacks at Roma
Roma is open for dinner from 6.30pm to 10pm, with a view of the lagoon; the resort suggests Fritto Misto while sunset-gazing, and recommends booking ahead.
What Iru Veli is
In Dhivehi «iru» means sun and «veli» sand. The island lies in South Nilandhe Atoll, which the Maldives call Dhaalu, 153 km south-west of Malé and 45 minutes by seaplane. Its 125 villas, in 9 types from 93 to 643 m², are split 68 on the beach and 57 over the water, and every one has a pool of its own. Dolphins pass so often that the resort named a category after them, the 14 Dolphin Ocean Villas.
What the resort really sells is its 24-hour all-inclusive: the buffet at Aqua Orange, à la carte dinner at Grouper Grill and Roma, Chemistry Bar open round the clock and the adults-only pool bar, plus a dolphin cruise, a guided snorkel and a local island visit, $100 of spa and a quarter of an hour on a jet ski. Of the 500 most recent Google reviews, 96% of those discussing the location are positive, and 96% of those discussing the staff.
The bill depends on everything the plan leaves out: the whale shark trip is $380 a head, an hour’s massage $198, and in February 2026 one guest paid $115 a head for the lobster barbecue. Those sleeping over the water describe the seaplane taking off in front of the villa between 6 and 7am.
In the Lumina Guide
Lumina Guide 2027
Sun Siyam Iru Veli is an island in Dhaalu Atoll where every one of the 125 villas has its own pool, the reef starts a few metres from the villa and the all-inclusive runs round the clock.
Here: the ambassador assigned to your villa meets you off the seaplane and sets up a WhatsApp group for any request; at the bar they remember your drink and room number.
449 of the 468 guests who write about the staff and service are pleased. 18 hotels of 335 hold it.
What do Sun Siyam Iru Veli’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
Location
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests describe the white beach, the house reef a few metres from the villa, with its turtles, reef sharks and rays, and the dolphins on the sunset cruise.
Room
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write about the private pool, the space and the housekeeping; they name the Dolphin Ocean Villa, with the open sea in front, and the Beach Villa, a few steps from the shore.
Staff and service
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. What recurs is the ambassador who looks after each villa, reachable on WhatsApp and often remembered by name, the bartenders at Chemistry Bar, the waiters at Aqua Orange and the kids’ club.
Breakfast
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is the buffet at Aqua Orange, with its sea view: those who write about it remember the eggs and dishes cooked to order, the plant-based choices and the floating breakfast in the villa.
Price
6 in 10 guests who mention the price find it fair. The advice that recurs is to take the all-inclusive, which runs round the clock: the Aqua Orange buffet, à la carte dinners at Grouper Grill and Roma, the Chemistry Bar that never closes and a dolphin cruise.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 8 July 2025 to 3 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Dhaalu Atoll: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 6 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
Price: for two on the night of 19 December 2026, from $1,020 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).
What a night costs, season by season
A night for 2 on Google costs $871 to $1,262 from 1 November to 22 December 2026, then $1,760 to $2,421 from 23 December to 10 January and $1,232 to $1,804 from 1 March to 6 September 2027. I would start with the 15–21 December 2026 week, the cheapest on the calendar.

The lowest price any seller showed on Google Hotels for one night searched alone, for 2 adults, read 12 October 2026; no room or meal plan is specified. The calendar stops on 6 September 2027; 29 to 30 December 2026 has no price. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller Google listed that day asked $865 a night; the resort’s own listing, $1,163.
Iru Veli, Baglioni or Niyama
Choose Iru Veli for a house reef off the villa and the 24-hour all-inclusive; Niyama has no house reef, only a sandy lagoon. Choose Baglioni, on Maagau in Dhaalu Atoll, for all-inclusive meals brought to the villa until midnight and dinners Italian, Japanese or from the grill.
A night: the lowest single-night seller price in the week of 16 November 2026, for 2 adults, read on Google on 12 October 2026; no room or meal plan is specified.
What to expect
Dinner over the water at Roma, the spa above the lagoon and the reef just below the villa ladder.
The plan covers dinner in 3 places: the Aqua Orange buffet, with its sand floor and themed nights; Grouper Grill, fish and meat off the grill on the beach, with a lobster barbecue twice a week; and Roma, Italian cooking on a terrace above the lagoon, from 6.30 to 10pm. The 8-seat teppanyaki and the wine cellar inside Roma are outside the plan.
The spa stands over the water, past the jetty towards the Ocean Villas and opposite Roma, and opens from 9am to 7pm. It uses the French Thalgo range and offers Balinese, Thai and Hawaiian massage, Ayurvedic treatments and private yoga; a 60-minute Balinese massage is $198 with tax and service.
The house reef is «just metres from your villa», in the official fact sheet's words, and from the water villas a ladder drops straight into the sea: in March 2026 one guest saw rays, sharks and turtles there. The all-inclusive plan adds a sunset dolphin cruise and a guided snorkel once per stay.
Good to know before you book
Trips and the spa are paid on top: the whale shark trip is $380 a head plus tax, with at least 6 people (October 2026 gazette), and a 60-minute Balinese massage is $198, tax and service included. Source: sunsiyam.com
The seaplane is compulsory and paid for: $490 per adult and $295 per child return on the official destination page, read on 6 October 2026; Booking.com puts it at $515 and $310 from 1 November 2026. The website’s offers make it free for 2 guests from 7 nights, and for one from 4. Between January 2023 and August 2026, 4 Google reviews describe waits for the seaplane, from an hour and a half to about 7 hours, at Malé airport or on the day of departure.
All-inclusive does not mean everything: some signature dishes carry a supplement, wine is poured by the glass, one at a time, and in the villa, beyond the minibar, drinks are ordered from room service and paid for. Teppanyaki, the wine cellar, private dinners, diving and trips are extra.
Seaplanes leave the island’s platform from 6am, and guests sleeping over the water describe hearing them take off. Between 2024 and 2026 guests describe refurbishment work on the villas, and in June 2026 the resort was announcing it for all of them over the summer.
Families are welcome, with the Turtle Kidz Club for ages 3 to 11, but it closes at 5pm and serves no meals. Under-threes can have a paid babysitter with a parent present; massages are from 12, jet skis from 16 and alcohol from 18.
The website counts its venues 3 ways: 6 restaurants and bars on the home page, 7 on the weddings page, 4 restaurants, 2 bars and a wine cellar in the events brochure. The plan covers the buffet at Aqua Orange and 3-course à la carte dinners at Grouper Grill and Roma. Between August 2025 and August 2026, 5 Google reviews write that the buffet, breakfast included, repeats its dishes over a stay of several days; between January and October 2026, 3 describe chicken served undercooked.

Sun Siyam Iru Veli reviews
The platforms' scores, read on 3 October 2026, and what guests write about the villas, the reef and the bill.

Google
A honeymoon facing the sea
In August 2026 a Turkish couple on honeymoon, in a villa facing the sea, loved Grouper Grill and Roma and saw baby sharks around the island. They found breakfast repetitive, and the massages and water sports expensive.
In August 2026, 5 friends gave 3 stars: beautiful water villas and a 5-star spa, but on arrival they waited about 7 hours at the airport, slept at a sister resort and set off again at 5 in the morning.
In March 2026 a couple in a water villa snorkelled straight off the ladder and saw rays, sharks and turtles; on the second attempt the cruise met a large pod of dolphins. The whale shark trip was dear, and no whale shark showed.
In January 2026 a German couple spent 2 weeks in a water villa on the sunset side, with a successful proposal. The drawbacks: very hard mattresses and the seaplane leaving in front of the villa every morning between 6 and 7.
In December 2025 a family praised the cleanliness, the staff and the kids' club activities, and dinners at Roma and on the beach. Christmas dinner felt little like a gala and very dear, with drinks not included.
In October 2025 a French family of 4 found the snorkelling incredible a few metres from the villa and the villa roomy, with one wardrobe. The Aqua Orange buffet often repeated itself, and the spa and excursions were expensive: all-inclusive, they write, is the plan to take.
What people ask before booking Sun Siyam Iru Veli, with answers from sources read between 3 and 6 October 2026.

How much does a night cost?
On Google Hotels, read on 6 October 2026, for 2 adults and one night, taxes and fees included: $574 on 7 October 2026, $631 on 20 October and $1,234 on 28 October (nights within 3 weeks of the 12 October reading), $1,000 on 15 November (a lone low night between dearer ones), $1,418 on 19 November, $1,036 on 9 December, $2,421 on 24 December and on 31 December, $1,292 on 14 January 2027 and $1,635 on 29 January 2027. In the 500 most recent Google reviews, from July 2025 to October 2026, 96% of those discussing the location and the staff are positive, and 90% of those discussing the villas. The praise goes to the reef a few metres from the villa, the dolphins, the private pool and the ambassador who looks after each villa, often remembered by name. Reviews mention the prices of trips, spa visits and special dinners excluded from the plan, as well as wine served by the glass. Guests also mention the buffet, which repeats its dishes over a stay of several days, and the seaplane taking off from 6am.
What taxes and charges are added?
The website's rates are net: the destination page adds 17% Goods & Services Tax, a 10% service charge and a Green Tax of $12 per guest per day. On top come the seaplane and, for anyone staying on 24 or 31 December, the compulsory gala dinners.
Google Hotels prices for the Maldives, on the other hand, include taxes and fees, as the spa menu's do.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out at noon, according to the destination page; early arrival and late departure depend on availability.
